Horror after boy, 18, shot dead in London – as cops hunt gunman and launch murder probe
AN 18-year-old boy has been shot in London with police launching an urgent hunt for the gunman. Cops and emergency services scrambled to the scene on Great Enfield Road, in Enfield, London, just before 9pm last night. The 18-year-old was treated at the scene on Great Cambridge Road before being rushed to hospital. The teen received further treatment as hospital staff tried desperately to save his life but he sadly died from his wounds. His family has been informed and they are currently receiving support from specialist officers. Cops confirmed that no arrests have been made yet. A crime scene is in place, and the road will remain closed while enquiries are carried out. Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines who leads policing in Enfield has said: "I am saddened to hear that a young man lost his life last night. My thoughts are with his family and friends who will be processing this news today. "We want to reassure the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and a thorough investigation is underway. "The safety of the public remains one of our highest priorities. We are working tirelessly to ensure that those responsible are held to account. "I would like to send my thanks to the community now, as there will be an increased police presence while we carry out enquiries over the next few days. Your patience is greatly appreciated. "An incident like this is deeply concerning to members of the community, and we recognise that some may feel effected. "Please do approach any of our officers who are in the local area, they will be happy to provide support to you."

21:26 Man stabbed to death outside a Sydney home Homicide detctives have launched an urgent manhunt after a man was stabbed to death in Sydney's west. Emergency services were called to Driftway Drive at Pemulwuy about 10.45pm on Thursday after a man suffering from mulitple stab wounds was found lying on a driveway. The man aged in his 20s died at the scene, despite paramedics' efforts to revive him. Police have launched an investigation with the assistance of the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad. Police and forensic officers spent the night scouring the crime scene and remain there on Friday morning.

'Odour investigation' forces evacuation of some residents in Wheatley
Residents of a section of Foster Street in Wheatley are being evacuated due to what Chatham-Kent police are calling a "odour investigation." Residents are being evacuated on Foster Street between Victoria and Erie, police said in a statement. A temporary shelter has been established at the local arena at 196 Erie Street N. for those displaced by the evacuation. All emergency services are currently on scene to manage the situation. Police are urging the public to stay away from the area until further notice. The Municipality of Chatham-Kent referred questions to police. It was not immediately clear how many residents are being evacuated.

Halifax home ablaze following huge explosion with three injured
An explosion at a house in Halifax on Thursday, 26 June 2025, left three people injured. Two individuals from the affected house were hospitalized with serious injuries, while a third person from a different property sustained minor injuries. The blast damaged multiple homes, resulting in the evacuation of 14 properties. West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that the cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
