Georgia Love parts ways with another longtime love after split from husband Lee Elliott: 'A lot of letting-it-go moments'

Georgia Love has revealed her heartache after another major loss. The Bachelorette star, 35, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that she was saying goodbye to the beloved car that she had bought from her mum prior to her death. Speaking of the emotional farewell, Georgia shed light on why the set of wheels held so much sentimental value. 'I bought Mum's car from her before any of us knew she was sick in 2016 and loved this sexy redhead so much,' she shared. 'It was a piece of her,' she wrote. The Bachelorette star, 35, took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that she was saying goodbye to the beloved car that she bought from her mum prior to her death Georgia's mum Belinda passed away that same year after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer. However, the car had given the reality star 'more grief' and cost her 'more money' than she could cope with over the last 18 months, aiding her in her decision that it was 'mum's sign to remove the emotional attachment and let it go'. 'So while I'm going through a lot of letting-it-go moments right now, the time felt right,' she added. Then, Georgia lightened the mood with a hilarious observation about her new Mazda and its glaring similarities. 'But it's still sexy and red as Mum's always were,' she noted of the new whip. It's been a big month of change for Georgia, who sold the Melbourne home she shared with her former husband Lee Elliott last weekend. The couple, who met on the beloved Aussie reality series in 2016, put their home on the market a few months after announcing their split earlier this year. The four-bedroom home in Hampton East went under the hammer on Saturday. Their property passed in on a $1.53million bid after being listed with $1.5million to $1.58million price expectations. However, over the weekend, post-auction negotiations ended with the sale of the home for an undisclosed amount. The pair paid an estimated $1.35million for the chic, ultra-modern, two-storey townhouse in 2021. It can then be assumed that the former couple pocketed at least $180,000 from the sale. Georgia and Lee fuelled rumours they had split for some time, as it had been more than four months since they were seen together. The pair spent Christmas apart with their respective families before Georgia jetted off to New York City for a holiday without Lee. They were also both spotted without their wedding bands, which led to a wave of speculation online suggesting they had ended their relationship.

Gary Lineker to be given hero's farewell in final Match of the Day

Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, his friends who also co-present his Rest is Football podcast, are set to join Lineker in the studio for his last show. The BBC was tight-lipped on Sunday over specific plans but insiders say an 'emotional montage' is expected, potentially featuring tributes from players, managers and colleagues. Match of the Day has a history of arranging final-show celebrations to pay tribute to departing stars. There were emotional send-offs for Alan Hansen while Ian Wright was presented with a cap during his final appearance last year. For Lineker, however, tribute planning will not have been straightforward. A host of Jewish members of BBC staff and television executives elsewhere have spoken of their anger that he was granted a chance to say goodbye after sharing a social-media post featuring anti-Semitic imagery. Leo Pearlman, chief executive at Fulwell Entertainment, and Danny Cohen, former director of BBC Television, have said Lineker does not deserve a 'swansong'. 'The BBC's decision to allow Lineker a final appearance on Match of the Day, effectively offering him a hero's farewell, despite the fact that he is leaving the corporation because of his use of an anti-Semitic trope comparing Jews to vermin, is deeply disturbing,' Pearlman had told Telegraph Sport. 'At a time when anti-Semitism in Britain is rising at an alarming rate, the BBC's choice to honour Lineker in this way sends an appalling message to the Jewish community.' Cohen added: 'The BBC have made the right decision to part ways with Gary Lineker, but he should not be allowed a final swansong this weekend. And why the BBC's statement does not even mention anti-Semitism is hard to understand. Given the Nazi echoes of the content shared, it will be very hard for many in the Jewish community to see Mr Lineker present Match of the Day again on Saturday. If the racist content had been directed at another community, I do not believe a presenter would be allowed to carry on for another week.' Lineker will lose out on an estimated £800,000 after being forced to leave without a pay-off. Sources close to the corporation say the decision to drop him was made primarily by BBC chiefs who had run out of patience with his outspoken political views. The latest controversy was set in motion on Monday last week when the Match of the Day presenter used Instagram to promote a pro-Palestinian video featuring a rat emoji – an icon used by the Nazis as a slur against Jewish people. Lineker apologised and removed the video but calls to remove him from the BBC grew louder when Telegraph Sport published an explosive interview with Lineker in which he went further than ever in his comments about Israel and also criticised his boss at the BBC. It was confirmed at noon last Monday that this Sunday's Match of the Day would be Lineker's last BBC outing. Lineker, who has hosted Match of the Day since 1999, issued an unreserved apology for the 'hurt and upset caused' by the video, stating it was a 'genuine mistake'. The former England captain became the BBC's highest-paid presenter, having initially started out as a BBC Radio Five Live presenter. He also worked on Grandstand during his early years in broadcasting. His podcast, The Rest Is Football, will have its last episode on BBC Sounds this week, but The Rest Is History will continue on the platform. Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman will replace the Leicester-born star and share the presenting role on Match Of The Day from the next Premier League season.
