Astronomer's HR Head Kristin Cabot is married in a Boston Brahmin family: Who are Boston Brahmins brought into light by Coldplay controversy

A simple 'kiss cam' clip from Coldplay's concert in the Greater Boston area recently led to a storm of viral videos, capturing ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR Head Kristin Cabot embracing each other. Coldplay lead Chris Martin called out at the displayed video of the couple, and ever since then, social media and online platforms have been full of memes and content around them. The fallout from the concert has opened a window into a world about which most people outside Massachusetts rarely hear, where tradition can matter just as much as money. One of those names is Cabot. For generations, the Cabot family has been part of America's old elite, a kind of modern-day aristocracy that usually stays out of the spotlight. But this viral moment has brought the name into the spotlight. Kristin is married into the Cabot family, one of Boston's oldest and most influential lineages. Her husband, Andrew Cabot, is the sixth-generation owner of Privateer Rum and part of a dynasty that stretches back ten generations in New England. The Cabots are one of the bases of the Boston Brahmins, a class once described by Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr. in his 1861 novel Elsie Venner as the 'Brahmin Caste of New England.' Coldplay's Boston kiss cam accidentally exposed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot in an alleged affair. Now, the internet and LinkedIn are buzzing with questions about the rumoured office romance. Who are the Boston Brahmins? They are known as the 'First Families of Boston'. The Boston Brahmins were Anglo-Saxon Protestant elites who dominated New England's political, cultural, and economic life from the 18th to the early 20th century. 'And this is good old Boston / The home of the bean and the cod / Where the Lowells talk only to Cabots / And the Cabots talk only to God,' goes a famous rhyme still recited by Boston schoolchildren. But being a Brahmin isn't just about wealth; it's also about legacy and restraint. According to The New York Post, the Cabots built their fortune in the soot trade, specifically carbon black, which was essential for tire manufacturing. Today, family members like Andrew Cabot manage family-run enterprises, in line with Brahmin tradition. After the ongoing controversy around the recent cheating scandal at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron resigned from his position, but there is outrage over Kristin Cabot's face and calls to resign after the Coldplay scandal. Also read about Kristin Cabot's 'Boston Brahmin' family history. The unspoken rules of privilege For Boston Brahmins, showing off was never part of their being. Wealth is something you live with quietly, not something you flash around. A true Brahmin might take the T to work, wear the same simple, but well-made, suit year after year, and eat cold roast leftovers instead of going out for fancy meals. As petr reports by the New York Post, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, a proud Brahmin himself, once said, 'Your name should only appear in print three times: when you're born, when you marry, and when you die. ' He joked that he didn't quite follow that rule, since he ended up in the papers more often than tradition would allow.

Dylan Dreyer-Brian Fichera divorce: Did 'Today' show host drop red flags before separation?

"Today" show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and her husband, Brian Fichera, have parted ways after 13 years of marriage. Dreyer confirmed the news via her Instagram Friday, writing on top of a sunset photo, 'For many years I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows. The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between. The morning show star continued, 'I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you've given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate. Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera may have been drifting apart long before they announced their breakup this week, reports New York Post. A day before Dylan announced her divorce, she revealed she and the former NBC cameraman mainly communicated via text because of their busy and conflicting work hours. Dylan Dreyer's announcement came as a surprise to some, but comments years ago suggest that the split may have been brewing for longer than anticipated. In an interview in 2022, Dylan Dreyer noted that she and her husband communicated mostly via text because of how busy their schedules and jobs were. Live Events 'Our schedules mean we don't see each other much, but we text all the time,' Dreyer, 43, admitted in 2022. 'Sometimes it's even easier to have an important or deep conversation via text because we get all our thoughts out without being interrupted.' Dreyer also claimed that she and Fichera, 38, were able to turn the texting situation into a positive thing for their relationship. 'We don't find it impersonal. At the time, Dreyer noted that she and Fichera felt that they could anticipate the other person's tone or intention through text. 'We know each other well enough to understand each other's tone so a lot gets accomplished through texting!' But, three years later things changed as the 'Today' co-host announced that she and Fichera had split up after nearly 13 years of marriage. In her divorce announcement, Dreyer said that she and Fichera intend to focus on co-parenting their three sons "with nothing but love and respect for another." The meteorologist added that she and her husband began as friends, and that they'll continue to be friends despite the end of their marriage. Dreyer played in the event and Fichera served as her caddy, and she posted several photos from the event. 'We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for another. Thank you as always for your support,' Dreyer added. The former couple is still living together while co-parenting their three sons: Calvin, 8, Oliver, 5, and Russell, 3, according to The Post. The exes were away together in Lake Tahoe, California, for the American Century Championship just days before their breakup announcement. Dreyer and Fichera go married in October 2012. On their 12th anniversary last year, the NBC television personality shared a sweet tribute on their 12th anniversary last year. '12 years of marriage and I'm still in my happy place. Sitting on the couch with @fishlense,' she wrote at the time. 'After I took this picture, Brian pointed out that I posted the same thing 2 years ago!' 'Not much has changed and I wouldn't change a thing,' Dreyer added. 'Love you Bri!' But fans began to speculate that something was amiss with Dreyer and Fichera's marriage back in May when he suddenly stopped posting to social media. Those concerns were temporarily squashed when Dreyer shared some pics of herself, Fichera and their three kids on Mother's Day, and again in June when the 'Today' co-host posted more photos to celebrate Father's Day.

Amid the kiss cam scandal, people are now speculating if British iconic band Coldplay can be sued by former CEO after its lead singer Chris Martin accidentally outed him at the concert. Amidst the ensuing scandal, speculation arose that Byron might seek legal redress. Live Events "Any legal claims from Byron would be dead on arrival," Ron Zambrano of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Employment Lawyers told The Mirror. "He has no grounds to sue." "First, it would immediately be struck down as a restriction on creative speech and Coldplay's ability to be artistic during their performances. Second, Byron and Cabot waived their right to privacy when they decided to attend a public event, so their public display of affection is on them, not on Coldplay. They just got caught," he added. Tre Lovell, a civil and entertainment attorney of the Lovell Firm, echoed similar sentiments. He said, "CEO Andy Bryon has no legal recourse against Coldplay for putting him on the big screen." Lovell added, "The fact that the big screen caught the CEO doing something embarrassing or immoral in public is on him.' Meanwhile, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin seemed to poke some fun at the incident at his next concert. He didn't address it directly, but instead told the crowd that they might get put on the jumbotron and "Please, if you haven't done your makeup, do your makeup now!'
