Tottenham's pursuit of Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has stalled with the player now featuring in pre-season and his club considering legal action despite his release clause being met Tottenham's pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White has slowed down after Nottingham Forest were left fuming by their approach for the player - who is continuing to play for them during pre-season. It looked as if the north Londoners were going to get their man after matching the £60million release clause in his contract. Forest were frustrated that the confidential figure in his deal was met by Tottenham and reacted angrily, threatening legal action. The progress of any potential deal has stalled and Gibbs-White played for Forest in their friendly against Monaco this weekend. He was due to be part of the Forest squad that went to Portugal for a pre-season camp this week, but did not travel at the start of the week for personal reasons, reports the Athletic. Gibbs-White's team-mate Ola Aina recently said: 'At the end of the day, we're all professionals - we've got a job to do and that's what Morgan is doing right now. He's keeping it professional." Forest maintain they never gave Spurs permission to speak to Gibbs-White, who is thought to be keen on a move to north London. They are considering legal action regarding Tottenham's interest and want to see whether a confidentiality agreement regarding his release clause has been breached. Forest have already lost Antony Elanga, who moved to Newcastle for more than £50m, and will be loathed to lose another of their key attacking weapons in Gibbs-White. The club's impressive season was always going to see their top players attract attention from rivals. The City Ground outfit do appear to be making moves should they lose Gibbs-White with Manchester City star James McAtee identified as a target. Several clubs are keen on the playmaker, who is valued at £35m, with Forest potentially advancing their interest in the days ahead, reports the Telegraph. Tottenham meanwhile have already spent £55m to sign Mohamed Kudus from West Ham with new manager Thomas Frank wanting more forwards to arrive in the capital. Spurs have also been linked ex-Fulham star Joao Palhinha. The 30-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder is available this summer, but the Premier League's side preference would be for a loan rather than a permanent move. Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern Munich has also been made permanent.

Arsenal have held 'serious negotiations' to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha this summer, according to reports in Germany. There has been a flurry of activity at Arsenal in recent days after a somewhat quiet start to the transfer window, with Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard all signing on the dotted line at the Emirates. The Gunners are also working on deals for Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera and Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, while personal terms have reportedly been agreed with Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze. Though Arsenal have managed to fill the void left by Jorginho and Thomas Partey by capturing both Zubimendi and Norgaard, it's understood the north Londoners remain open to the prospect of further strengthening the base of their midfield. A report from German publication Bild suggests Arsenal have expressed a strong interest in Palhinha and there was 'almost a major transfer' before Bayern got their Club World Cup campaign up and running. It's claimed Palhinha finds himself high up on Arsenal's shortlist of targets in midfield and 'concrete figures' have been discussed with a view to luring the ex-Fulham man back to Premier League football. But at this stage, Arsenal are yet to come close to reaching an agreement for Palhinha and the Gunners have been forced to explore other avenues to bolster Mikel Arteta's options in the middle of the park. Serie A giants Inter Milan are also keeping close tabs on Palhinha's situation and there have been other offers from England, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Portugal in recent weeks. While Palhinha's 'big dream' is to stay put and make a success of his time at Bayern Munich, the report states that an 'absolutely top offer' from a club of Arsenal's stature may make the former Fulham man 'think twice' about his future. Palhinha swapped Fulham for Bayern in a high-profile £47.4 million move 12 months ago, but was plagued by injury problems across a frustrating debut season with the Bundesliga champions. The Portuguese is currently competing for game-time in Bayern's midfield with Leon Goretzka, Aleks Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer and new signing Tom Bischof, There are still three years remaining on Palhinha's current contract at the Allianz Arena. Speaking to Sky Germany after Portugal's Nations League victory over Germany last month, Palhinha revealed that he planned to discuss his future with those in charge at Bayern. However, he underlined that he would be willing to fight for his place in Vincent Kompany's starting XI after his tough start to life in the Bundesliga. Udo has been made a director of three of his firms, Hampton Music, Hampton Recording and Hampton Publishing. The former footballer is now a tax, estate and probate expert. His usual area is advising high profile sports stars especially footballers, according to his bio. Not only this, but Udo is a partner in a top London law firm.
