Jason Kelce ripped for ‘out of touch' Fourth of July post
Retired NFL great Jason Kelce ignited fireworks on social media while wishing everyone a Happy Fourth of July. 'Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America,' the ex-Philadelphia Eagles center wrote in an Instagram post Friday along with a video of blasting fireworks. His comments came hours after Trump signed his $3.3 trillion 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' into law during a Fourth of July celebration on the White House lawn. And the six-time, First-Team All-Pro was immediately met with animosity. 'There is absolutely nothing wrong in having difference of opinion. 'Yes, we are one and the beauty of democracy is having the freedom of airing your position. This is what July 4th represents.' By Saturday afternoon, the post had generated more than 132,000 likes and nearly 4,000 comments. But Travis Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, publicly backed Vice President Kamala Harris over Trump for president in last year's race.

Rams' signing named one of the most underrated moves in free agency
Rams' signing named one of the most underrated moves in free agency The Los Angeles Rams got a lot of praise for signing receiver Davante Adams, but another one of their free agency moves is getting some acclaim for different reasons. FOX Sports' Eric Williams named the Poona Ford deal as one of the 10 most underrated moves of the 2025 free agency period. Ford's two-year deal with $15.6 million guaranteed is solid for a starting nose tackle, but Williams liked that the Rams resolved the biggest need on their young defensive line as they compete for a title this yea.r "Los Angeles boasts one of the better young defensive lines in the league, featuring Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Kobie Turner and Byron Young. However, the Rams struggled to stop Saquon Barkley and James Conner last season," Williams wrote. "Bringing in Ford, a proven run-stuffer who can also create an interior pass rush, should fix one of the few glaring needs for a team that believes it can compete for a Super Bowl. And the Rams got Ford at a decent number considering the skyrocketing defensive tackle market in free agency." One former Rams player already compared Ford to legend Aaron Donald and ex-Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce admitted he "hated" lining up against Ford. This was always seen as a good signing, but now the addition of Ford is earning much-deserved adoration because of how little the Rams spent to address a serious issue.

Ex-Rams DL compares Poona Ford to Aaron Donald
Ex-Rams DL compares Poona Ford to Aaron Donald Aaron Donald became one of the best defensive linemen of all-time during his 10 NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. And while his exact skillset cannot be replicated, the Rams have made some concerted efforts to find feasible ways to replace Donald on their defensive line. The additions of Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Byron Young and Kobie Turner are great starts, but former Rams defensive lineman D'Marco Farr thinks the signing of Poona Ford is the closest the team has been to replacing what Donald can do in the trenches. "Everything we used to give AD [Aaron Donald] credit for, like diagnosing blocks, understanding how they're tying to eliminate you – [Ford]'s got that too, but just at the nose tackle spot," Farr told the team website. "So when AD makes a smart play, AD makes a smart play. When Poona makes a smart play, somebody else makes the play, but that's how good he is, that's how much he's going to help you. A good nose tackle is invaluable in football, no matter what level." It's certainly hard to compare the two players directly by just looking at their numbers. Donald had 111 career sacks, including 20.5 in the 2018 season. He also won Defensive Player of the Year three times, made the Pro Bowl all 10 years of his career and was an eight-time first-team All-Pro selection. Ford, meanwhile, has just 11.5 sacks in 101 games over seven seasons but 39 total quarterback hits and 229 combined tackles during that span. But, as Farr mentioned, they're two different players who are both great at the little things that make interior defensive linemen great. "You don't have to be very tall to play nose tackle. You have to be very willing, and you have to be an absolute tree stump. And he is all of that," Farr said of Ford. "So he's a complete guy that, I guess you'd say he mastered the art of playing the run, but he's a credible guy you can actually leave out there for three downs if you wanted to." The Ford deal has earned a lot of praise from pundits around the NFL world, including ex-Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. The now-NFL analyst said he "hated" playing against Ford because of how he leveraged his body and his skillset to beat Kelce in the trenches. The Rams lacked true run-stopping size in their defensive line after the Eagles ran all over them in the NFC Divisional Round. Now, they'll get a true run-stuffer in Ford as well as a big-bodied lineman who can give even the best centers problems. And if he's also a variant of Donald — that's great, too.

Patriots 2025 depth chart: Updated roster with free agency additions
Patriots 2025 depth chart: Updated roster with free agency additions originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston As expected, the New England Patriots have been among the most active teams in NFL free agency. Most of their focus to this point has been on upgrading their defense. They've reportedly agreed to deals with defensive tackles Milton Williams and Khyiris Tonga, cornerback Carlton Davis, and linebackers Harold Landry and Robert Spillane. On the offensive side, they reportedly will re-sign tight end Austin Hooper, sign veteran quarterback Josh Dobbs and wide receiver Mack Hollins, and bring in veteran right tackle Morgan Moses. We should expect more moves where that came from in the coming days. To keep up with all of New England's offseason additions, check out our updated depth chart below throughout the spring. (New additions are in bold.) Drake Maye Josh Dobbs Joe Milton III Drake Maye is locked in as New England's franchise quarterback. Fellow 2024 draftee Joe Milton III showed in the 2024 season finale he could be a capable backup. Veteran signal-caller Josh Dobbs was reportedly added to the mix Monday on a two-year contract. Rhamondre Stevenson Antonio Gibson Terrell Jennings Running back is a sneaky offseason need for the Patriots following another disappointing year for Rhamondre Stevenson. Antonio Gibson was solid in his debut campaign with New England, but bolstering this group should be on Mike Vrabel and Eliot Wolf's to-do list. DeMario Douglas Kendrick Bourne Mack Hollins Kayshon Boutte Ja'Lynn Polk Javon Baker JaQuae Jackson John Jiles The Patriots reportedly dipped into the receiver market and signed Mack Hollins to a two-year contract. With Chris Godwin off the board, the next best free-agent options are Amari Cooper and Stefon Diggs. Cooper Kupp and Brandon Aiyuk are still available on the trade market. Hunter Henry Austin Hooper Jaheim Bell Jack Westover Giovanni Ricci The Patriots are reportedly re-signing Austin Hooper to a one-year deal after the veteran's solid debut season in Foxboro. Vederian Lowe, T Cole Strange, G David Andrews, C Ben Brown, C Lecitus Smith, C Mike Onwenu, G Morgan Moses, T Sidy Sow, T Caedan Wallace, T Demontrey Jacobs, T Layden Robinson, G Jake Andrews, G Tyrese Robinson, G Caleb Jones, T Veteran tackle Morgan Moses should stabilize the right side of the line, but the Patriots still desperately need a left tackle. Will they use their No. 4 overall draft pick to address that need and select LSU's Will Campbell? Defensive end Keion White Truman Jones Defensive tackle Milton Williams Christian Barmore Jeremiah Pharms Jr. Khyiris Tonga Eric Johnson II Jaquelin Roy Marcus Harris The Patriots paid up for ex-Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams, and for good reason. Williams is a major upgrade to a defensive line that could be pretty scary if Christian Barmore is healthy. If Barmore remains out, Williams should help make up for his absence. New England also reportedly inked former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga to a one-year deal. Inside Linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley Jahlani Tavai Curtis Jacobs Christian Elliss Monty Rice Andrew Parker Jr. Outside Linebacker Harold Landry III Robert Spillane Anfernee Jennings Titus Leo Landry and Spillane will give New England's pass rush a much-needed boost. Both have experience playing under Vrabel and defensive coordinator Terrell Williams. Christian Gonzalez Carlton Davis Marcus Jones Isaiah Bolden Marcellas Dial Miles Battle DJ James The Patriots found their No. 2 cornerback in Davis, who has 11 career interceptions in 89 career games spent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. Kyle Dugger Jabrill Peppers Marte Mapu Dell Pettus Brenden Schooler Mark Perry Dugger and Peppers remain atop the safety depth chart as New England has not made a move to address the position. Bryce Baringer, P John Parker Romo, K Joe Cardona, LS With Joey Slye hitting free agency, John Parker Romo is the only kicker currently under contract with New England.
