Tennis star claims Raducanu is in 'love triangle' with Alcaraz and Draper

Emma Raducanu has already seen her relationship with Carlos Alcaraz speculated upon ahead of Wimbledon and now Australian star Nick Krygios has added another name to the mix Emma Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper could be in a love triangle according to outspoken tennis star Nick Kyrgios. With his tongue appearing to be firmly in his cheek, the Aussie ace suggested another name to add to the mix amid speculation of romance between Raducanu and reigning Wimbledon champion Alcaraz. Raducanu has already laughed off the suggestion of a romantic relationship with Alcaraz. The 2021 US Open champion is set to team up with Alcaraz to play mixed doubles at the US Open in September, which sparkd rumours there could be something more between them. ‌ Both players successfully navigated their way through the tournament's first round. Raducanu overcame Mimi Xu in straight sets while Alcarez required five to defeat 38-year-old Fabio Fognini. ‌ But for some, talk of love is dominating the air. And on talkSPORT, ex-Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios was asked when he knew about any possible romantic dalliance around SW19 for Alcaraz and Raducanu. Appearing a little caught off guard, Krygios first stumbled: "I don't know, I don't know about that nah, nah, I don't know." But with a laugh, he soon kicked into action. "I think it's a love triangle - Draper, Alcaraz and Raducanu," he said. "They're fighting over Raducanu I think, I'm not sure." "This is the stuff we want to hear," chipped in former Rangers striker Ally McCoist. "This is why I'm here Nick." "I don't know who's making her happy," Kyrgios added, when asked about the pressure on Raducanu and her happiness heading into Wimbledon. "I just think that the tennis world loves a love story, and they love to try and put two together. ‌ "Look Raducanu, she's doing fairly well. Obviously winning a Grand Slam at 19 is never easy, it comes with a lot of expectation from the outside world. So long as she's happy, there's so much pressure that comes from being a no.1 player and playing at Wimbledon. So hopefully she can find her feet. "Imagine her and Jack Draper winning the women's title and the men's title. That would be something." Raducanu has been long-time friend of Alcaraz having known each other since their teen years. The pair were spotted practising together at Wimbledon on Friday. ‌ Asked if they had discussed their US Open tactics, Raducanu said: "No, it was fun yesterday. We were both on court with (water brand) Evian. 'Yeah, we were just getting some volley practicing ahead of New York. Yeah, I'm really happy obviously to be playing with him. Yeah, we had a good time yesterday.' And when the inevitable question about their relationship arrived, Raducanu offered a smile with her reply: 'We're just good friends.' The interview moderator then prompted a laugh from Raducanu after stepping in to end the questions. The Brit added: 'Way to wrap up!"

Former Wimbledon Champion to retire at the end of the summer

Former two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will retire from Tennis after this year's US Open tournament in September. The ex-Wimbledon queen returned to the tour four months ago following the birth of son Petr last summer and will play at SW19 for a final time after being given a wild card to the event. Kvitova won her first Wimbledon title in 2011, famously beating the great Maria Sharapova on the iconic grass courts of the All England club, The powerful left-hander's game proved perfect for grass courts and she added a second Wimbledon crown in 2014, while she also made the Australian Open final in 2019 and reached a career high of second in the rankings. She achieved both those things despite a shocking stabbing by an intruder at her home in late 2016 in which she suffered damage to tendons and nerves in her left hand, threatening her career. Writing on social media, Kvitova said: 'Growing up in my hometown of Fulnek and hitting the first tennis balls with my father on the local courts, I never imagined becoming a professional tennis player, being able to travel the world, and playing in the most beautiful stadiums around the world. 'I've been privileged to reach incredible heights over the past 19 years since becoming a professional tennis player. From winning my two Wimbledon Championships, bringing home six Billie Jean King Cup trophies for the Czech Republic, reaching the world #2 ranking and so much more. 'I have accomplished more than I could have ever imagined and I am so grateful to everything that tennis has given me all these years. It has taught me countless lessons, not only on the court or in the gym, but also in life. 'I would never be whom I am today without this beautiful sport, and everything it has given me both on and off the court. 'As with all phases in life, there comes a day that it is time for a new chapter, and that time for me has come now. I therefore wanted to share with you that 2025 is my last season on tour as a professional. 'I am excited and very much looking forward to soak in the beauty of playing The Championships, Wimbledon one more time, a place that holds the most cherished memories in my career for me. 'And while I am not entirely sure yet what my hardcourt swing in the US will look like, I am intending to finish my active playing career at the US Open in New York later this summer. 'While no such decision is ever easy to make, for me this is a happy moment! I will leave the sport with the biggest smile on my face – the same smile you've seen from me on and off court throughout my whole career.' Kvitova has found wins very hard to come by since returning to the match court in Texas following more than a year away. It took her five tournaments to register her first victory, which came against Irina-Camelia Begu on clay in Rome, but that so far remains her only win.

Chippy secrets revealed as chip shop worker opens up on one item he'd 'never order'

We may have thousands of chippies to choose from across the UK - but what's really happening behind the fryer? One chippy worker has now shared all, including what he'd stay clear of. A former chip shop worker has opened up on what really goes on behind the fryer, including the one item he'd never order and the unexpected sweet treat customers love. Most Brits love a Friday night chippy tea - keeping the tradition of our 'national dish', fish an chips, alive. Whether you're team scampi or battered sausage, there's no shoratge of choice, with more than 10,000 specialist shops across the UK, reports the Mirror. ‌ While most of us are quick to get stuck in, few know what really happens behind the counter. However, Jordan Luxford does and he's not shy about spilling the secrets. ‌ After five years working in chip shops across the country, Jordan - who now runs A-Star Waste Management in Sussex - has shared the secrets he learned from life behind the counter. Offering insight into the frying process, Jordan said: "Most people wouldn't know that after we cook battered products in our oil, we would follow it with a batch of chips." According to Jordan, this helps get rid of the tiny batter fragments that linger even after sieving. ‌ From flaky cod to deep-fried mars bars, just about anything goes in the bubby pots of your local chippy. However, ex-Wimbledon chef Jordan Luxford says not everything is worth the risk, and there are a few things he now swerves completely after years on the fryer frontline. "I would never order a fried beef burger! If you want a decent burger, get it from a shop with a hot plate to cook it on." He told the Express. "If you want a freshly cooked item go for something that isn't in the glass top under the lights but we would cook anything fresh if a customer asked anyway." ‌ But there is a special treat, customers tend to love Jordan explains "Fried chocolate bars have always been popular too. We would usually cook them for free alongside an order and as we wouldn't have the chocolate bars in stock, the customer would be asked to bring them with them and we would cook them at the same time as the rest of their order." Aside from cooking methods, there are other aspects of life behind the scenes of British chippies that fans of the beloved takeaway trade may find surprising. According to Jordan, a significant amount of effort goes into preparing the menu items that dominate fish and chip shops, especially the fries. The business owner explained: "The amount of preparation time needed to get everything ready before opening was a huge surprise! It takes hours to cut a Friday night's fish and even more hours to peel, inspect and cut 20 bags of potatoes. Prep for a Friday night, opening at 5.30 pm would start at 10 am." A meal that we scoff down in 20 minutes takes hours just to prep. With this revealed, we may start to appreciate the chip shop staff more.
