UPDATE: Child makes false report to Niceville police about attempted abduction
UPDATE (6/19 5 p.m.): The Niceville Police Department has released new information regarding a previously reported attempted child abduction. Officials said during the investigation, the boy who reported the incident admitted to lying to the police about the abduction. NPD officials said they take all reports seriously and that it is a crime to make false reports. 'We would like to remind the public that making false reports of criminal activity is a serious offense and may result in criminal charges,' read a NPD news release. PREVIOUS REPORTING NICEVILLE, Fla. (WKRG) — The Niceville Police Department is investigating after a man allegedly attempted to abduct a boy on June 17. Pensacola man pleads guilty to cyberstalking and sending obscene materials to minor females According to an NPD news release, the boy was walking in the area of 37th Street when a man pulled up in a navy blue SUV or minivan. The man then allegedly offered to give the boy a ride home, and when he refused, he grabbed the boy's arm and tried to force him into the vehicle. The boy was able to get away before the man got back into his vehicle and was last seen driving on 37th Street, before turning right onto Juniper Avenue, according to the release. Officials are asking anyone in the area of the south side of Juniper Avenue who has a surveillance camera to check the footage between 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. on June 17. Impaired driving, false report of stolen vehicle leads to charges: WPS

(Robert Lothian/CTV News Windsor) A woman is facing charges after she struck a parked vehicle while driving impaired, then falsely reported her vehicle as stolen, according to the Windsor Police Service (WPS). The incident happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of Brodhead Street and Howard Avenue. After police located the SUV, they said they found scattered opened bottles of alcohol. Through their investigation, they learned the complainant was driving the motor vehicle at the time of the crash, and she falsely reported the theft to police. Officers spotted her attempting to flee the scene, and arrested her after a brief struggle, police say. The 25 year old is facing a number of charges:
