I tried on 12 Old Navy dresses, jumpsuits and more — they make me feel comfortable and chic as a 48-year-old mom, and they're all 50% off
There was a time in the early 2000s when everything I owned was from Old Navy. Flash forward to me at 48, and I still can't get enough of the dependable and always affordable brand. Their current summer collection is particularly on-point — something I learned when I decided to pop into the store on my way back from an emergency evening milk run (how do we go through it so fast!?). I tried on over a dozen items, and I wanted every single one of them. From casual dresses to cute jumpsuits, these all make me feel comfortable and chic, and all work for my busy life as a mom of two. The best part? Everything is currently under $30 thanks to Old Navy's massive sale, where you can score 50 per cent off just about everything. Check out my summer style recommendations below. $17 $35 at Old Navy Whether you are looking for a comfy beach cover-up or a low-maintenance dress for running errands, this 100 per cent cotton T-shirt dress checks all the boxes. I tried this on in three colours, including classic black, and really liked the look and feel of them all. The slide slits also give it a little more of an edgy style while allowing you to move with (or chase) your kiddos. $20 $40 at Old Navy I don't always love dresses that fall above the knee, but this mini with its side pockets was just too cute not to try. I was immediately drawn to the bright colourway and appreciated the wide adjustable straps. The 100 per cent viscose rayon fabric is curve-hugging without being too tight, and the fit-and-flare shape is super flattering — no wonder shoppers are calling this the "perfect summer dress." One thing? My usual size XS fit fine, but I found it to be a bit looser than I would like in the bust. $27 $55 at Old Navy I absolutely loved this dress. The fit, length and comfort were all off the charts. I tried it on in three different colourways and loved them all. Available in regular, tall and petite sizes, this dress is a great option for a variety of body types. With more than 1,600 five-star reviews, I'm not the only one raving about this "versatile" and "flattering" frock. $22 $45 at Old Navy This 100 per cent cotton twill dress is so light and airy. The fabric feels great, and the sleeves can be worn on or off the shoulders depending on your mood and how much coverage you want. Again, I'm not the biggest fan of short hemlines, but I found the silhouette to be really flattering paired with longer sleeves. The hidden side pockets are, of course, an awesome bonus. $27 $55 at Old Navy I've always wanted to be someone who could pull off a jumpsuit but never found one I felt comfortable in — until now. This linen/rayon number fits my smaller frame perfectly. I love the hip pockets, four-button front and adjustable straps. I will say it took a little muscle to get the fitted waist above my hips, and I wish it had a zip for easy on and off, but, good golly, did it look and feel great on. From $24 $50 at Old Navy This dress is a perfect example of one that looks way better on than it does on the rack. The V-neck tie front is fun and sexy, and I love the look of the ruffled waist. The smocked bodice of this 100 per cent cotton twill dress also allows for a super comfortable fit. I never had a purple dress on my bingo card for summer, but this comfy one with pockets has totally won my heart. $17 $35 at Old Navy For me, it's all about bright colours this summer. The super soft rayon/spandex blend of fabric would fall nicely over my swimsuit or out and about for a casual day. The high neck provides great coverage, and with a cute pair of sandals or wedges, it's perfect for summer. It does appear to wrinkle easily, which can be a pain, so have a steamer handy when you're ready to wear. $22 $45 at Old Navy Me? In a romper? No way! I rarely wear shorts, but this one was too cute not to try. I love the cut-out in the middle, and the 100 per cent cotton fabric feels so great against my sensitive skin. The adjustable spaghetti straps allowed me to get the perfect fit on top. Consider me a convert! From $12 $25 at Old Navy I can see this "easy to wear" dress being a total go-to for me as a low-maintenance mom of two. I get a bit self-conscious about my mommy-middle, so I love that this dress is loose-fitting but still stylish and trendy. $22 $45 at Old Navy I've never owned anything gingham (seriously!) but this cheerful, sunny number is really tempting me. Just a note: I would recommend investing in some skin-toned underwear if you opt for this style, as the fabric is quite lightweight. $25 $50 at Old Navy This dress can take you from a day at the beach to a night out in a pinch. Humid days will be much more survivable while wearing this flowy frock. However, if you need a dress with more chest support, this might not be a fit for you. $25 $50 at Old Navy The cushioned footbed of these platform wedge sandals makes them a ridiculously comfortable pair of sandals. As you may have spotted above, I tried them on with all the dresses and loved how they looked, but more importantly, how they felt. The faux leather straps don't rub against the skin, and I love an adjustable buckle. I sent my sister a picture of them, and she immediately texted back, "Get me a pair too!"

11 best modest dresses, tops, pants & more for summer 2025 that will keep you covered, cool and stylish
As someone who dresses modestly — and has for most of their life — I have my fair share of tricks to transform any piece into something that's modest girl-approved. When I was younger, this frequently included layering under and over a specific dress, skirt or top to the point that I would be seriously uncomfortable in the heat. But as I got older, I began opting for anything that would give me coverage I wanted, was made up of breathable fabric and required the least amount of modifications and or layering. I just wanted to pop on an outfit without jumping through multiple hoops to make it work. This year, that task was made somewhat easier because some of the current summer fashion trends match my modest preferences. There are actually skirts and dresses that are long, flowy, loose, lined and slit-free. Tops and pants are also longer and looser. If you're looking for modest summer clothing for 2025 and beyond, I combed through dozens of retailers to round up my favourite modest fashion picks that require little to no layering or modifications. Typically, longer blouses are better, but for summer, a cropped blouse is perfect to pair over maxi skirts. I especially love this cotton gauze fabric because of how cooling and breathable it is. Plus the pale blue colour is ideal for summer. There was a point in time when I wouldn't touch dresses without long sleeves. But recently, I realized that really cuts my summer fashion options, so I altered my approach. I love this sleeveless full-length dress as a layering option; it looks great with a cropped or short cardigan that's breathable enough to work for warm weather. And while I typically only consider sleeveless dresses without slits, I made an exception for this one because how perfect it is in all other fronts. From the fabric, length and flow this dress is extremely modest. The fit and flare silhouette is super flattering and also ensures the dress doesn't cling to the body, plus the slit can be easily sewn up. Tall girl tip: If you struggle to find a full-length dress that's actually full length, this brand delivers! A lightweight cardigan is an absolute closet staple for anyone, especially for me this summer — I pair it with a sleeveless maxi dress or over a maxi skirt. This option from Uniqlo is especially great for the summer due to its added UV protection. I love that this longer blouse provides additional coverage for the front and back. It's also also available in numerous colours, designs and sizes. When I see a shirt being described as a tunic, it's like music to my ears. It means a shirt will be longer and provide the additional coverage I look for in my modest wardrobe. This poplin belted tunic shirt is 100 per cent cotton, making it nice and cooling for the summer. It can be worn over a pair of jeans, pants or even styled over a maxi dress or skirt. While this is technically a dress, I personally would think of it as a tunic to wear over jeans or pants. I love the colour, fabric and tiered look of this one plus the belted sleeves. You can't go wrong with a maxi skirt — especially this year. A lot of the maxi skirts available this season are slit-free, fully lined and flowy: no clinging to the body! These chic palazzo pants are high-waisted, loose and flowy and can easily go from day to night. They're ideal for a modest-look — business or casual. This dress has long sleeves and is full length, depending on your height. It's made of 100 per cent organic cotton gauze, making it breathable, soft and comfortable for hot summer days. This classic linen shirt can be easily be paired with a skirt, pants and even over a dress. It's a versatile closet staple that's great to have on hand for a modest wardrobe. I've been on the hunt for a denim skirt — and I think I've found the perfect one. This one looks to be maxi length and has no slits, plus it has a fit and flare style, which I love.

As a Plus-size Traveler, These Are the Comfiest Summer Pants I've Found—From Linen Pull-ons to Flowy Palazzo Styles
As a travel writer who takes dozens of trips a year, I've had my fair share of trial and error when it comes to summer-friendly travel pants. One of the fastest ways to ruin a flight? Too-tight pants that seemed fine for an hour but feel unbearable after takeoff. Over time, I've learned that lightweight, pull-on pants are the key to staying cool and comfortable on the go (of course, bottoms with breathable fabrics are also non-negotiable). Below, I've rounded up my favorite plus-size travel pants for summer. Whether you're lounging on the shores of Costa Navarino in Greece, hiking through Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas, or wine tasting in California's Anderson Valley, these are the pairs I reach for again and again. These breezy linen pants are made to pair perfectly with sandals and other warm-weather footwear. They're flowy, lightweight, and have just the right amount of stretch, making them a staple in my suitcase for every summer trip. A covered elastic waistband and drawstring add to the all-day comfort, while every color—from classic black to bold prints—is easy to dress up or down. These wrinkle-resistant ponte pants strike the perfect balance between dressy and casual—think yoga pants-level comfort with dinner-ready polish. They have just the right amount of stretch to stay comfortable through long travel days, and they look sharp paired with a blouse for evenings out. Equal parts breathable and lightweight, these wide-leg palazzo pants are made for summer. The elastic waistband offers a flexible fit (especially great if your size tends to fluctuate), and they come in a rainbow of colors and prints—perfect for mixing, matching, and layering while you travel. Known for its denim, Lee also makes surprisingly stylish utility pants, and this Lee Flex-to-Go pair is a pocket lover's dream. With front, back, and buttoned thigh pockets, you'll have room for your passport, boarding pass, phone, and snacks with room to spare. The relaxed fit and flexible waistband make them well-suited for hot, humid weather. These polished pants are made with light compression and a supportive fit—but don't worry, they're still incredibly comfy. The four-way stretch fabric moves with you, and the sleek, zipper-free design only adds to its ease and comfort. Available in plus, petite, regular, and tall sizes, they're an elevated staple for any travel wardrobe. I own these wide-leg cargo pants in deep teal, and every time I wear them, my mood lifts. Flowing with a flattering silhouette, the smocked waistband and drawstring keep things comfy, while multiple pockets add serious travel-friendly functionality. Plus, they come in short, regular, and tall inseams for just the right fit—and they're on sale for 60 percent off! I often reach for hiking pants on summer trips—even though I'm not a hiker—because they're surprisingly comfy and practical. Made from wrinkle-resistant polyester-spandex, these cargo-style pants have five zippered pockets (so nothing slips away). Lightweight and quick-drying, they're great for beach strolls or poolside lounging. Plus, UPF 50+ protection helps keep my freckled skin safe from the sun. However, if you are feeling outdoorsy this summer, the Libin joggers make excellent hiking pants with their durable construction, sweat-wicking material, and flexible stretch. $80 $36 at Available in beachy shades like beige, indigo blue (which is an extra 50 percent off and selling out fast), and olive, these comfy drawstring chinos are perfect for hot weather travel. The pull-on style offers flexible comfort with a slim fit from waist to mid-thigh, but what really stands out? The incredible softness inside and out—they're so cozy, you might just want to sleep in them. High-rise and full of fun summer energy, these wide-leg pants are roomy from waist to heel with an easy elastic waistband. Lightweight and wrinkle-resistant, they're a traveler's dream—no ironing needed. The woven fabric has no stretch, but fits so comfortably, you won't miss it. When the heat hits, I always reach for these pants to stay cool all day long. Psst: select patterns are up to 50 percent off! Stylish, durable, and comfortable, these linen pants offer a relaxed fit with three handy pockets—ideal for travel. Darker shades like blue and navy are best for opacity and style, while lighter colors pair beautifully with flowy tops. Lightweight and breathable, they're perfect for hot-weather destinations or lounging poolside in total comfort. Flattering on all figures, these flare pants feel effortlessly light and soft. Available in Timeless Navy and Ashwood, they're perfect for summer with a sporty yet polished vibe. Pair them with the matching tank for a chic set, or mix and match with any summer top for a versatile look that moves with you. Flexible and non-binding, these trousers offer comfort without sacrificing polish. Perfect for business lunches, dinners, or any travel event calling for business casual, they come in black, khaki, plaid, and light cream. Easy to layer with blouses, blazers, or shawls, they provide a versatile foundation for a range of stylish looks on the go. An honorable mention for my favorite travel skirt: A cozy essential with a slim silhouette, this ribbed sweater skirt is perfect for cooler summer evenings. The stretchy knit fabric moves with you, while the midi length offers effortless style that pairs easily with sneakers or sandals. Available in classic neutrals like black and brown as well as more bold hues like hot pink and maroon, it's a versatile piece that transitions smoothly from daytime exploring to casual dinners. I'm a mega Kmart fan - and these are the must-have items I'm obsessed with right now
A fashion-forward mum has wowed shoppers with Kmart's stunning new autumn range, featuring four stylish outfits that cost less than $70 each. Zeljka Abaza, from Melbourne, shared a try-on haul video showcasing four flattering outfits, with her most affordable look costing just $50. Customers looking to upgrade their wardrobe for the cooler months will be delighted to know the four outfits are available in sizes six to 20. Starting with a fun jumper, the fashion blogger, known as Zee, stepped out in a chic $28 Bow Knit Jumper, and $25 Tie Waist Pants in Black. Her second outfit was a $25 Long Sleeve Poet Blouse in the Core Stripe colourway, with the $30 Wide Leg Pocket Jeans in Ecru, which have recently been linked to a near identical 'dupe' of Victoria Beckham 's $800 design. Up third was a more relaxed ensemble, perfect for the weekend or out to brunch with friends. Zee paired together a bargain $15 Long Sleeve Drop Shoulder T-shirt in Red Stripe, with a $22 Fitted Cardigan in Cherry Red draped over her shoulders. Her jeans were the ever popular $30 Paperbag Jeans in Light Wash, with an elasticated waistband. Finishing on a high, she wore a very cosy looking (and affordable) $25 Off Shoulder Jumper in a light grey called Satelite M. For her pants, Zee kept it equally as comfortable in another Tie Waist style in Taupe - also $25. Zee styled all the outfits with her own beige ankle boots and gold jewellery to elevate the looks. 'Things I'm loving at Kmart,' Zee said on Instagram. Her video has been viewed more 52,000 times - with many saying they couldn't wait to get their hands on the 'lovely looks' at Kmart. 'Such beautiful pieces, how cute is that bow cardi,' said one. 'The red stripes and sweater and the last outfit! So luxe,' another commented. Many praised the budget retailer for offering luxe items for less, but some said certain items hadn't hit their local store just yet: 'I need these white jeans, but our local Kmart doesn't have them yet.' 'Love all your picks,' another shared. 'I love the last look, loving the neutral colours.' Shoppers have been sharing rave reviews on the new items, including the off-shoulder jumper (which is also available in chocolate brown), which has received a five out of five-star rating. 'How cute is that knit,' one said. While another customer said she couldn't get enough of the blue shirt and white jeans combo.

German model Caroline Daur, 30, who was pictured out with Romeo Beckham, 22, in the early hours reveals she is making a major change to her life
The German model who stepped out with Romeo Beckham revealed on Tuesday that she is recruiting for a PA. Caroline Daur, 30, raised eyebrows this week when she was spotted on a night out with the footballer, 22, just weeks after he split from girlfriend Kim Turnbull. The supermodel, who has attended his mum Victoria Beckham 's fashion shows in the past, is looking to hire a paid intern. In the advertisement, which she shared to her Instagram Story, Caroline detailed the role and explained that she needed help with social media and travel organisation. The successful candidate will be able to speak both English and German and be based in Hamburg. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The German model who stepped out with Romeo Beckham revealed on Tuesday that she is recruiting for a PA (Caroline Daur pictured in Paris last month) Caroline has made a name for herself in recent years as a fashion blogger, under the name Caro Daur - and has even been given the seal of approval from Victoria Beckham herself already. Victoria has longtime been a fan of Caroline's and in 2018 her Facebook page reposted a snap of Caroline wearing one of her designs. Caroline has also attended several of Victoria's fashion shows. She is proud of the fact she is 'self-made', previously stating: 'I don't have an agent, manager or assistant. I do everything by myself.' The social media star first achieved prominence in the 2010s when she launched her blog and now boasts 4.6 million Instagram followers, with a further 1.1 million on TikTok. Caroline - who studied business in school - worked for a headhunting company while building up her brand but is now a full-time influencer and model with a net worth of €4 million. By 2016 she had become the first German blogger to achieve more than one million Instagram followers and went on to land the cover of Japanese Vogue as well as walking for Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week. Caroline also started branching out into other forms of media, appearing as a guest judge on Germany 's Next Top Model, and launching her own series of online workout videos. In the advertisement, which she shared to her Instagram Story, Caroline detailed the role and explained that she needed help with social media and travel organisation In 2019, Caroline - who is the daughter of lawyer Harald and manager Monika - was mentioned in Forbes 30 Under 30 list. The blogger previously revealed that she only sleeps four to five hours a night because her mind 'is always somewhere', and this year revealed she'd been diagnosed with ADHD. Detailing her diagnosis, she said: 'It didn't surprise me – and it didn't surprise anyone around me either. The diagnosis came late, but it explained so much. 'My brain is like an internet browser with 47 tabs open. Sport is the only way I can calm it down. This morning I worked out at 7am, even after a short night. Without it, I just don't function.' Of her ability to make it as a blogger, she mused: 'My success came from consistency and treating my work seriously. I didn't just smile in front of the camera – I planned, negotiated, edited, and built a business.' Caroline is also set to make her TV debut, having landed a role in German Netflix series She Said Yes which filmed last year. Caroline has also attended Victoria's glitzy fashion shows in the past, including her 2023 catwalk show in Paris (pictured) As a result of her newfound fame, Caroline has found himself moving in several high-profile circles. She is believed to be currently single after an on/off relationship with podcaster Tommi Schmitt. The pair were last linked together in February, with friends of the couple claiming they split because of their 'different views on a shared future.' She is followed on Instagram by the Beckham clan, as well as Romeo's ex Kim and Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz. Victoria Beckham has longtime been a fan of Caroline's and in 2018 her Facebook page reposted a snap of Caroline wearing one of her designs. Caroline has also attended several of Victoria's fashion shows. After Romeo was spotted with the stunning influencer in Paris on Saturday night, it was claimed the pair had bonded over their love of tennis, with both attending the Men's Singles Semi Final at the French Open on Friday. The model jumped into a car with Caroline and other pals after enjoying an evening together, keeping the fun going as they went on to party Julia nightclub in the French capital into the early hours. A source told MailOnline of the outing: 'Romeo was in town for work meetings, Roland Garros and also caught up with friends. 'He had dinner with his three friends one of whom is great friends with Caro so she joined the group. It was a casual dinner in a group setting throughout the evening.' Despite the casual group outing, the pair appeared keen to not be snapped together as they left the venue separately before climbing into the same car alongside mutual friend, French Vogue Culture Director Dan Sablon. Dan recently styled Romeo for his French Vogue fashion story. Romeo cut a casual figure for the outing, opting for a black sweater teamed with dark tracksuit bottoms and blue trainers. Meanwhile, Caroline dressed to impress in a strapless little black dress teamed with knee-high black boots. Friends say that things remain 'amicable' between the Romeo and ex Kim, and that their parting is 'nothing to do' with Kim being blamed by Nicola Peltz for being the catalyst for the feud that has ripped the Beckham family apart. One said: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them. 'David and Victoria would hate for the view to be that they split because of Nicola and Brooklyn because that simply isn't the case. 'The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too, there is lots of travelling for both of them at having a relationship at this time isn't all that conducive to their lives.' Kim attended several of David's birthday celebrations. She was present at the former England captain's party at the end of March at Cipriani restaurant in Miami. She also joined David, Victoria, and Romeo's younger brother Cruz, his girlfriend Jackie Apostel and sister Harper on their trip to France where they visited a vineyard in Bordeaux and a restaurant in Paris. Kim was also at the big dinner at Core restaurant in Notting Hill, West London. She has been at the centre of the rift after Nicola, 30, claimed that she felt uncomfortable around her, with sources close to the US heiress saying that Kim had dated Brooklyn when they were teenagers. That was the reason the couple gave for not attending any of David's celebrations. However, in fact she enjoyed a romance with his close friend Rocco Ritchie, the son of Guy Ritchie and Madonna. Kim, is the well-heeled granddaughter of renowned post-war sculptor and painter William Turnbull, while her father Alex Turnbull and uncle Johnny were part of the post-punk band 23 Skidoo, formed in 1979. Kim and Brooklyn were undeniably close for a brief period – as photographs of them together at the time show - but suggestions that they were ever an item are wide of the mark, according to well-informed sources. That Kim has now been 'thrown to the wolves' as the reason behind the family row is 'deeply upsetting' to Brooklyn's parents and brothers. In fact, younger brother Cruz, 20, personally shut down the gossip recently when he responded to an Instagram post showing a picture of Romeo and Kim together.
