Etsy Taps 4 WNBA Stars For Their Icon Collection: 'It Was The Perfect Partnership.'

ETSY X WNBAEtsy has long been a haven for the hyper-specific and the handmade, whether you fell down the rabbit hole of TikTok's Etsy witch saga or found yourself obsessively browsing custom embroidery and one-of-one accessories. It's also where many independent designers quietly make their debut. Now, a new wave of creators is entering the chat — this time, from the hardwood. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Etsy has partnered with the WNBA on a capsule collection designed by four of the league's most stylish stars: Cameron Brink, Skylar Diggins, Breanna Stewart, and Nneka Ogwumike. For the Icon Collection, Etsy tapped these four players, to curate and co-design capsule lines that reflect their personal style and story. For some, that meant apparel; for others, accessories like custom necklaces and press-on nails. Each collection offers a glimpse into who they are off the courtEtsy x WNBA Skylar Diggins, long celebrated for her tunnel walk — where her gutsy statement pieces meets her softer feminine side — channels that same duality into her Etsy debut. Her design: A tailored two-piece set that reimagines classic outerwear. The top is a trench-inspired, cinched button-down crop top that features an oversized collar. It's paired with harem-style trousers in the same material, updated with a black cloud motif at the knee. 'I've always had a passion for fashion,' Diggins says over the phone. Although this may be her first time designing pieces, Diggins brings her on-court leadership into her off-court creative process. 'I'm particular,' says Diggins. 'When I first noticed Mary Lo of ByMaryLo, I liked her silhouettes, she has really dope silhouettes for her purses, but what stuck out to me was her pants." Diggins was especially excited about the opportunity to design. 'I had a lot of ideas, but also being able to platform those small-owned and women-owned businesses was something authentic to my brand and to the league.' The Seattle Storm guard began with the trousers as her foundation, eventually thinking, 'maybe I can do a top and bottom set.' Once the look came to life and she finally put it on, the feeling was clear, it was 'worth it.' 'The customization with the cloud on the pants, paid homage, to not only Sky' (her nickname), but also the Seattle Storm, my team,' she says. The nod is subtle but intentional. 'I've worn these pants, worn them out with my hoodie, with a peacoat, I've styled the top and bottom different,' she says, speaking to the set's versatility — a quality that, at its core, mirrors the expansive range of talent and expression across the WNBA. Diggins, who debuted the two-piece set on the orange carpet at All-Star Weekend — which, she made the roster for — summed it up best: 'It's truly custom because I made it.' 'When I saw everyone else involved in the Icon Collection — Cam [Cameron Brink] , Nneka [Ogwumike], and Stewie [Breanna Stewart] — those are icons, in our league and in what they do. You know, they're trailblazers not just on the court but off it, too,' she says. Cameron Brink seconds that sentiment wholeheartedly. 'I have to second what Skylar says, I look up to Nneka, Skylar, and Stewie' so much. It's very cool to be grouped with all these women." Adding on to her intention behind the collaboration," Besides that, I've used Etsy since I was younger.' For Brink, her collection is deeply personal. To her, it was a creative outlet born from resilience during a 2024 injury that opened a new lane for self-expression. Known for her classic, girlier style, she designed martini-inspired press-on nails. 'My teammate and I, Rae [Burrell], both love press-ons. Sometimes when it comes to game time, you want to take off your nails but can't,' she says. Partnering with Hailey Tripp from Bling It On Nails, Brink shared, 'This was different, I got to add in some personal things.' The nails, inspired by her dog Olive, whom she got during her injury recovery, feature a green tips and olive motifs. Brink says over the phone this was the 'perfect partnership,' since beauty has always been a meaningful part of her life. 'I grew up connecting with my mom through beauty, tapping into my feminine side, and then I can tap into my tomboy side on the court, but for me, that's definitely having my nails done.'
