Supermarket campaign to help feed children and families in need
Tesco is launching a summer campaign to help feed children and families in need.
The Salisbury superstore is taking part in the Stronger Starts programme, which aims to support children who rely on free school meals during term time and are at risk of hunger during the holidays.
Research by the Trussell Trust shows that 32 per cent of families with children last summer could not afford balanced meals, and one in four children under five may need food bank support.

Claire De Silva, head of communities at Tesco, said: "Too often, families with too little support during the holidays worry about their children's physical and mental health, particularly if they're not getting the good food every child deserves."
From July 21 to August 30, Tesco stores in and around Salisbury will offer pre-packed food donation bags.
The bags, costing between £2 and £3, contain healthy, long-life food items and can be purchased at the checkout.
Donations will be distributed by FareShare and the Trussell Trust to families in need.
Emma Revie, CEO at the Trussell Trust, said: "We are extremely grateful to our partner Tesco and excited for this year's in-store summer activities, making it easier for people to support their local food bank throughout the holidays."
