Two teens among 4 arrested in drug trafficking investigation involving loaded firearm
Four people, including two 15-year-olds, face charges in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Georgina that resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm, cash and suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine. On June 15, York Regional Police (YRP) launched an investigation into a commercial break-and-enter in the area of Lake Drive North and Crestwood Drive in Georgina. "During the investigation, a suspect was identified and linked to a group suspected of trafficking drugs in Georgina," YRP stated in a news release. On Thursday this week, officers watched a suspect 'who appeared to be armed' enter a vehicle with someone they believe was a drug trafficker. They conducted a traffic stop and took the three occupants into police custody. Following the arrests, officers executed a search warrant at a motel in Georgina, where they arrested a fourth suspect accused in the break-and-enter. A 24-year-old man from Newmarket and the two teens, both males from Oshawa, are charged with multiple drug trafficking and weapons-related offences, among others. A 28-year-old man from Georgina is charged with two counts of break-and-enter with intent and disguise with intent.

RCMP execute two search warrants resulting in seizure of loaded gun and drugs
The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment Street Crime Enforcement has seized a loaded gun and drugs following two search warrants on Thursday. In relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, the RCMP arrested a 25-year-old man from Halifax and 33-year-old man from Dartmouth. The men were driving a GMC Canyon that was parked at a building supply store in Shubenacadie. Police conducted a search of the truck and seized of a pre-packaged baggies of cocaine and a collapsible baton. At the same time, a search warrant was executed in Bedford that resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Timberlea woman. During the search of the property, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, a cash counting machine, a vacuum sealer, more than $10,000 in cash, ammunition and a stolen loaded handgun. Five people arrested in Victoria over alleged drug and gun trafficking syndicate links
Police say they have disrupted an alleged criminal network in north-east Victoria following arrests in Cobram and Wangaratta. The investigation into the alleged syndicate began in 2023 and has so far resulted in 298 charges and numerous drugs and weapon seizures. On Wednesday five people were arrested and four firearms were seized, according to police. "This marks one of the most substantial blows on alleged drug and firearms traffickers in our region in recent years," Detective Inspector Anthony Town said. A 32-year-old Wangaratta man was charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of MDMA and possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms. A 36-year-old man, also from Wangaratta, was also charged with the same crimes and remanded to a later date. "We've significantly disrupted an alleged criminal network operating right in our own backyard," Inspector Town said. "Organised crime groups trafficking drugs and firearms have no place in our community. Since the investigation commenced police say they have seized more than 5,000 MDMA tablets, cocaine, cannabis and other drugs including fentanyl, steroids and viagra. Officers say they have also confiscated more than one kilogram of methylamphetamine, 18 guns, a large amount of ammunition and 20 allegedly stolen vehicles. "This outcome sends a clear message — we will continue to go after those who think they can profit from harm and we won't stop until every link in the chain is broken," Inspector Town said.
