Weather can't hold back Juneteenth celebration in Lansing

June 19, 2025 | Photo by Leah Craig While Lansing's Juneteenth flag-raising was postponed briefly on Thursday due to weather, the ceremony proceeded in sunshine and with high spirits. This was the second year the Juneteenth flag was raised outside Lansing City Hall as part of the weekend-long celebration. Lansing Mayor Andy Schor told the crowd that bringing the flag-raising back for a second year shows that 'no matter who's here, who's part of Lansing, this is going to be a tradition.' Juneteenth flag raising ceremony held on New Haven Green
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Artsucation Academy Network and Official Juneteenth Coalition of Greater New Haven held a flag raising ceremony on the New Haven Green on Monday. The event featured a live trumpeter, performances by local artists, and a speaking program about the importance of this special holiday. Connecticut officials underscore challenges for LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month This is the first of new haven's planned Juneteenth celebrations in the coming weeks. US flag raised over ambassador's residence in Damascus
