AFL great Wayne Carey reveals he has fled Australia to 'escape from reality' in Asia after his alleged 'toilet tryst' video went viral

Wayne Carey has fled the country after his alleged 'toilet tryst' dominated headlines. The former AFL star, who has earned himself the nickname 'Toilet Duck' thanks to the now viral video, revealed on Sam Newman's podcast You Cannot Be Serious that he was currently enjoying a vacation with his family somewhere in Asia. 'Couldn't be better where I am,' 54-year-old Wayne said on Wednesday. 'No one knows where you are, and where I am, who I am. Just a beautiful part of the world this is.' He went on to hint that his problems back at home hadn't gone away just because he'd left the country. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I'm not Australia's most wanted at the minute. Anyone that wants to escape from reality, take four children, put them on a plane and if you think you're escaping from reality - you're kidding yourself.' In the podcast episode, Wayne revealed that he was sitting poolside alongside his partner Jessica Paulke. Podcast host Sam, who guessed that Wayne was in Malaysia, went on to explain the reason behind Wayne's sudden trip. 'Just withdrawn from the public arena for the time being, just to gather yourself,' he said. 'You've got on a plane with your four children and you've left the country.' In response, Wayne quipped: 'I'm not going to be on Banged Up Abroad.' Carey added that he was away to 'get out of the mainstream', taking his children along despite it not being the school holidays. 'I've pulled the kids out of school and said let's do it now. One, because it's not as busy, two, we'll make it educational,' Carey said. A few weeks ago, Wayne made headlines after he was filmed emerging from a bathroom at a trendy Melbourne bar within a couple of seconds of a woman. The footage, which was taken at the Toorak Cellars bar in Armadale in the city's inner south-east, shows Wayne and Kate Aston, 38, a Melbourne marketing and communications executive, walking into view around 20 seconds apart. A female voice is heard saying 'we've got you on camera' as the woman walks past, before asking 'What's he doing in there?' and remarking, 'She looks embarrassed'. Wayne and Kate have both lashed out over the video, with the ex-AFL star branding it 's**t shaming' and cyberbullying, and both parties insisting there was no 'tryst' in the toilets.
