Wexford: Man arrested after €1.6m of herbal cannabis seized
A man has been arrested after €1.6m (£1.4m) of herbal cannabis was seized in County Garda Síochána (Irish police) and Revenue's Customs Service intercepted a van in Ballycaraney on Friday and discovered about 80kg of the man in his 40s, who was arrested at the scene, is being held in police seized drugs are being analysed by Forensic Science Ireland. Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.

Man (40s) arrested over €1.6m herbal cannabis seizure in Wexford
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of €1.6 million worth of herbal cannabis in Wexford. In a targeted joint operation involving An Garda Síochána and Revenue 's Customs Service, a van containing approximately 80kg of herbal cannabis was intercepted in Ballycaraney, Co Wexford on Friday. The man is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda station in the east of the country. He may be held for a period of up to seven days. Pending analysis, the drugs that were seized hold an estimated street value of €1.6 million. They will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, while investigations remain ongoing.

Cannabis worth €1.8m seized in Co Louth in joint Garda and Revenue operation
Herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.8 million has been recovered in Co Louth. A man in his 50s was arrested and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the county. Revenue officers seized approximately 90 kgs of herbal cannabis in a joint operation with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit. Describing it as an intelligence-led operation, a Garda statement said the seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing joint investigations into the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
