Travis Kelce's Happy Gilmore 2 costar effusively applauds his acting
Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to 1996's raucous comedy Happy Gilmore, hits Netflix on July 25, bringing Adam Sandler's lovable Happy back into our lives. The hockey-player-turned-golfer returns for what will surely be more shenanigans, with Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and even Ben Stiller reprising their roles from the original.
Some new faces are joining the fray, including Margaret Qualley, Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie and Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce. This isn't the first acting gig for the three-time Super Bowl winner as Kelce had a recurring role in FX's Grotesquerie, and he hosted the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?
Kelce received high praise from Grotesquerie star Niecy Nash and creator Ryan Murphy, and now he's getting more of the same from Happy Gilmore 2 costar McDonald.
In an exclusive interview with People, McDonald was effusive with his praise of Kelce. "Travis Kelce has been out there and I just really liked him as a person. He is really funny. Way too handsome, by the way, but really a good actor actually," McDonald said. "Surprisingly good."
