Vivo V60 Set to Launch in India on August 12 With 6500mAh Battery and 100x ZEISS Zoom

Vivo is gearing up to unveil its latest V-series smartphone — the Vivo V60 — in India, with an expected launch date of August 12, 2025. While the company has begun teasing the phone on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, several leaks have surfaced online, revealing major specifications and design elements of this upcoming mid-premium device. The Vivo V60 appears to mark a significant design shift from its predecessors in the V40 and V50 series. Taking visual cues from the recently released Vivo X200 FE, the V60 sports a modern look with a capsule-style rear camera module, a nearly bezel-less front display with a centered hole-punch cutout, and gently curved 2.5D edges that aim to offer a more ergonomic grip compared to the flatter edges seen in previous models. According to well-known tipster Pro Tech Village on X, the Vivo V60 will feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth and vibrant visual experience. Under the hood, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a capable mid-range processor that also powers devices like the Realme 15 Pro. However, what truly sets the Vivo V60 apart from the competition is its massive 6,500mAh battery, combined with support for 90W fast charging. This generous battery capacity is one of the largest in its segment and should comfortably support day-long usage for most users. The phone also brings added durability with IP68 and IP69 certifications, ensuring strong protection against water and dust. On the camera front, Vivo continues its long-standing collaboration with ZEISS optics. The V60 is rumored to boast a 100x digital zoom capability, alongside a versatile triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens also featuring OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Selfie enthusiasts can expect a high-resolution 50MP front camera, ideal for sharp selfies and crystal-clear video calls. The smartphone will likely arrive in three colour options — Mist Grey, Moonlit Blue, and Auspicious Gold, catering to both bold and subtle style preferences. While Vivo has yet to confirm the official pricing, industry insiders suggest that the Vivo V60 may launch in India between ₹37,000 and ₹40,000, positioning it slightly above the Vivo V50, which debuted at ₹34,999. With its mix of standout battery life, ZEISS-branded camera capabilities, and a sleek new design, the Vivo V60 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the mid-premium Android market. All eyes are now on Vivo as fans await the official launch in just a couple of weeks.

The road to returns: Why cheaper isn't always better in passive funds or in life

A few weeks ago, two of my friends, let's call them Raj and Neha, planned a road trip. Both had to drive from Mumbai to Pune for a common event. Raj claimed his car had excellent mileage of ₹5 per km. Neha's car clocks ₹7 per km mileage. The next morning, they both set off. In the name of "adventure," Raj took a few wrong exits, missed turns, and stopped for directions. Neha, meanwhile, calmly followed Google Maps. When they met in Pune, Raj reached an hour late, grumpy and tired. Neha arrived fresh, on time, and even stopped for coffee. Despite Raj's cheaper mileage, he spent more on fuel, tolls, and time. That's when it struck me: this is exactly how investors treat passive funds. Expense ratio When investors evaluate passive funds, they often zero in on one number: the expense ratio—the annual fee charged by the fund. It's tempting to think that a lower fee logically leads to better returns. But this is only part of the story. What if a fund doesn't do a good job of tracking the index it's supposed to follow? That's where two critical yet often overlooked metrics come into play: tracking difference (TD) and tracking error (TE). Tracking Difference: It is the actual difference between your fund's return and the index it is designed to follow. Formula: TD = Fund Return – Index Return For example, the Nifty 50 TRI delivered 9.01% as of April 30, 2025, and your fund returned 8.79%; the tracking difference is -0.22%. TD accounts for: In essence, TD tells you how much 'net return" you lost while trying to follow the index. Tracking Error: This is a statistical measure that tells you how consistently the fund tracks the index, not just once a year but across time. Formula (simplified): Standard deviation of the daily tracking difference over a period (usually a year) A low TE means the fund adheres closely to the index day-to-day. A high TE indicates the fund swings unpredictably, sometimes outperforming, sometimes underperforming, despite being designed to follow the index blindly. Recently, we engaged in evaluating two index funds for a prospective client. Here's what we saw (as of 30 April 2025): ABC Nifty 50 Index Fund- Expense Ratio: 0.27%- 1-Year Return: 8.79%- TD: -0.22% XYZ Nifty 50 Index Fund- Expense Ratio: 0.05%- 1-Year Return: 8.61%- TD: -0.40% The client was initially inclined toward XYZ due to its visibly lower expense ratio. But when we looked under the hood, the story changed. Despite being costlier, ABC delivered higher net returns and a lower tracking difference, meaning it tracked the index more efficiently. The client was grateful for a data-driven approach that challenged common assumptions. Decoding the road trip analogy In Raj and Neha's road trip: Despite a slightly higher cost, Neha stayed on course and reached on time (low TD and TE). With a cheaper ride, Raj got lost, took detours, and paid more, indicating how a fund with higher TD and TE can prove inefficient. In investing and driving, what matters is getting to your destination efficiently, not just cheaply. How should investors use this? When selecting a passive fund, look beyond the expense ratio. Consider funds that have lower TD and TE. These ratios already factor the expense ratio, and you don't need to worry about the same. AMFI mandates passive funds to disclose both metrics with uniform calculation standards and data is readily available on the AMFI website for you to compare. Passive investing is designed to be simple: match the market, keep costs low, and stay disciplined. But simplicity doesn't mean easy. Arriving at a decision based only on one matrix, just because it is easily available, may be a lazy strategy. Choosing a fund just because it's cheap can be misleading. Like Raj's road trip, it might cost you more in the long run. So the next time you select an index fund, don't just ask, 'How low is the expense ratio?" Ask, 'How accurately does this fund follow the path?" (The characters and fund names are illustrative.) Saurabh Mittal is an RIA and the founder of Complete Circle Wealth Advisors. Ferrari 296 Speciale: Beautiful, Brutal, Perfect

Ferrari brought something truly special (pun intended) to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Among the usual sea of supercars, this 296 Speciale, finished in a rich Verde Nürburgring with a white livery and the number 25 on the doors and hood, stopped us in our tracks. Over the past decade, Ferrari's design language has taken a more futuristic turn. But with the launch of the 296 GTB a few years ago, and the new Amalfi, it seems Maranello is swinging back toward beauty - and we're not complaining. The 296 Speciale follows in the footsteps of legendary mid-engined models like the 458 Speciale and 488 Pista. But unlike its V8 predecessors, this one packs a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 and a single electric motor. Combined output sits at 869 horsepower - 70 more than the already potent 296 GTB. That makes it the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Ferrari ever. It's also the first time Ferrari has applied its special series formula to a plug-in hybrid. We had our doubts about a PHEV Ferrari, but the 296 Speciale quickly proved them wrong. The electric tech isn't about saving fuel; it's there to enhance performance. In its most aggressive mode, called 'Qualify', the motor delivers up to 178 hp above 6,000 rpm, thanks to a new extra boost function. Just like the other special series cars, the Speciale goes on an extreme diet and gains a master's degree in aerodynamics. Weight has been trimmed by 132 lbs thanks to more carbon fiber bodywork, five-spoke wheels inspired by the F80, and titanium engine internals. The result is a dry weight just over 3,100 lbs. It also gets a host of track-focused aero upgrades, including side fins, an aggressive diffuser, and a reworked front end. All together, the car generates nearly 1,000 lbs of downforce at 155 mph. Ferrari says the suspension and brake cooling have also been reworked, and the engine sound has been sharpened thanks to new acoustic ducts. In person, the 296 Speciale looks more like a street-legal Challenge car than a tweaked GTB. The green Verde Nürburgring paint combined with the white livery could have been too much, but instead, it strikes a perfect balance. It's flashy in a way that still feels tasteful - the kind of spec that turns heads for all the right reasons. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Videos capture clash between ICE and protesters

In a clash with protesters in San Francisco this week, ICE agents used pepper spray and pushed through a resisting crowd in an SUV that was carrying a detained immigrant, according to multiple reports. Why it matters: The confrontation, captured in multiple videos, was one of the most violent with ICE in San Francisco to date. State of play: Since the Trump administration escalated immigration raids, ICE agents have been showing up at San Francisco's immigration court to arrest asylum seekers after their hearings. Video footage posted online shows anti-ICE protesters linking arms to form a chain in front of the entrance Tuesday morning as agents, almost all of whom had their faces covered, struggled to break through with batons and pepper spray. As agents escorted a handcuffed man out of the building, several protesters attempted to grab him but were shoved back. People then piled onto the SUV carrying the detainee, and one person fell off the hood as the vehicle pulled away. Mission Local reports that a uniformed ICE agent pointed a rifle at protesters and press while screaming "Get the f*ck back!" after the SUV exited. The other side:"On July 8 protesters violently attacked and obstructed federal ICE officers who were simply doing their job by enforcing our nation's laws," a U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said in a statement to NBC Bay Area.

Honda Launches Killer Civic Lease Offer for July

The Honda Civic has long been one of the best values on the road, and now Honda is sweetening the deal. For July, the automaker is offering a surprisingly affordable lease on the refreshed 2025 Civic, making it easier than ever to put one of the country's top compact cars in your driveway. This month's offer applies to the Civic Sport, a well-equipped trim with sleek styling and Honda's signature fun-to-drive feel. With the latest round of updates for 2025, the Civic looks sharper, drives just as well, and delivers all the efficiency and tech modern buyers expect. If you've been holding out for a compelling lease on a sensible, stylish sedan, this might be the time to pounce. For July 2025, Honda is offering a 36-month lease on the Civic Sport for $289 per month with $3,899 due at signing. That's a competitive offer in today's market, especially for a model that just received a mid-cycle refresh. Honda also continues to offer low financing rates for qualified buyers, though leasing may be the most budget-friendly path to Civic ownership right now. The Civic Sport delivers solid value even beyond the lease deal. It comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Honda Sensing safety features as standard. You also get sporty exterior touches, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 18-inch black wheels-all of which make the Sport trim feel a step above basic commuter duty. Under the hood, the Civic Sport packs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower. It's not built for speed, but it's more than enough for zipping around town or tackling your morning commute. What really makes the Civic shine is its chassis-thanks to responsive steering, refined suspension tuning, and a tight turning radius, the Civic remains one of the most engaging compact cars to drive, even without turbocharging. Fuel economy is another highlight. With EPA estimates well over 30 mpg combined, the Civic keeps fuel stops infrequent and your running costs low. That efficiency, combined with its refined interior and reputation for long-term reliability, helps explain why the Civic remains a top choice for shoppers year after year. The 2025 refresh brings subtle but effective changes inside and out. Exterior updates include a revised grille and sleeker headlights, giving the Civic a more mature look. Inside, material quality has improved slightly, and the layout remains intuitive and driver-focused. It's still roomy for a compact car, with plenty of space for passengers and cargo. Honda's July lease offer is the cherry on top of an already well-rounded package. At $289 a month with under $4,000 due at signing, the 2025 Civic Sport lease stands out in a segment where many competitors are priced higher despite offering less. With fresh styling, solid tech, and everyday livability, the Civic remains one of the smartest picks in its class-and this summer's deal only sweetens the case. *Disclaimer: This article is provided for informational purposes only.
