Adorable disabled twin brothers aged just four both die trapped in horrific house blaze

Two adorable disabled twin brothers have been tragically killed after becoming trapped inside a horrific house fire in Tennessee. Four-year-old Lathan and Langston McDaniel died on July 28 when flames tore through their Nashville home. The fire started on an outdoor patio before spreading rapidly to the rest of the house, according to the Nashville Fire Department. There were intense flames and smoke already reaching the roof when firefighters arrived. The mother, Jessica McDaniel, and her three children were inside when the fire broke out. She managed to escape the home with her youngest daughter, Lexi Rose, but was unable to reach her sons who were still upstairs. It's unclear at this time what caused the fire. The fire department is conducting an investigation that could take weeks. A GoFundMe has been created by a family friend to support the mother and her surviving child. 'I am trying to assist this family in renewing all that they have lost that is possible to replace.' 'We will never be able to get back their beautiful miracle twins, but maybe we can try to help replace all that has been lost.' She said the young victims were 'micro-preemie survivors and had a lot of health challenges' but were 'absolutely the lights of our world.' 'Words cannot express the grief and despair this whole family (and the village it has taken to love and support them well) are currently experiencing.' The campaign has raised just over $12,000 of its $30,000 goal so far. A neighbor, Tiffany Dalton, told WSMV that the community is 'just sad and heartbroken.' 'Me being a mom, I can't imagine what she's going through.' A friend of the family, Lacey Corbitt, told The Tennessean that the boy's mother has been 'broken' ever since the fire. 'They are physically ok,' she told the outlet, referring to the mother and her daughter but 'mentally, she's not ok.' 'It just leaves a huge hole in our hearts that they're gone. But it's amazing to see that the community is willing to help support and help them,'

Windsor comedian loses home and cat in devastating fire

The aftermath of a house fire on Moy Avenue in Windsor, Ont. seen on July 25, 2025. (Bob Bellacicco/CTV News Windsor) Windsor comedian Jen Richardson, her husband, and their daughter lost everything late last week, including the family cat, when a fire engulfed their Moy Avenue home. The blaze broke around 10 p.m. on July 24, and the structure has been deemed unsafe for investigators to enter. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and Richardson has not yet seen the house in person. 'Seeing pictures is one thing. Seeing it in real life and smelling it and... One thing at a time,' Richardson said, pausing as the reality continued to set in. She isn't ready to see the remains of the fire that devastated her family's life. Richardson was boarding a train home from Toronto when she received the call. 'I'm like, I'm sorry. Could you come back? Like, my house is burning,' she said. Her husband was home at the time but managed to get out safely. Their 8-year-old daughter was away at camp. Sadly, the family cat died in the fire, which Windsor Fire now estimates caused up to $750,000 in damage. 'He was such a good boy,' Richardson said of their cat. 'He was so fluffy and soft. He woke me up in the morning with cuddles.' The emotional weight of the fire visibly affected Richardson during the interview. 'Lost everything. Things...' she said with a deep sigh, overcome by thoughts of what had happened and what still lies ahead. The comedy community has quickly stepped in to support the family. A GoFundMe page has been launched, and a comedy fundraiser is being organized for Aug. 8 at the Tipsy Toucan on Ottawa Street. Although the family does have insurance, the outpouring of community support has been overwhelming. 'The generosity, the kindness, the words I've heard from people I haven't heard from in decades, like, people I don't know. So beautiful,' she said. Debbie Mitchell, who had never met the family, was moved to help. 'It just must be so awful that I just felt that I wanted to drop off some clothing and a little bit of food, but my heart goes out to them,' Mitchell said as she dropped off a bag with Richardson's neighbor. The road to rebuilding won't be short. Local realtor Joe Fallea, who has helped three displaced families this year, said recovery timelines can vary widely. 'I've seen three months, and I've seen a year and a half,' Fallea said. He advises anyone in a similar situation to contact a realtor, establish a clear timeline with their insurance provider, and use social media if they want to stay in the neighborhood. 'There might be a house that's sitting vacant, fully furnished that is an estate, a senior that may be in a senior home and we don't know about it because it's not necessarily on the market,' he said. Despite the tragedy, Richardson couldn't help but reflect on the readings from four psychics in the last year. 'Just wish they would have told me that my house was going to burn down for it, maybe. I've had more press over this than anything I've done comedically,' she said, before ending on a serious note with a somber expression. 'I wish my house was back.'

Man denies murdering mother and her three children, aged one, five and nine in Bradford house fire

A man has denied murdering a mother and her three children who died in a Bradford house fire. Bryonie Gawith, 28, nine-year-old Denisty Birtle, Oscar Birtle, five, and 22-month-old Aubree Birtle died after the blaze at their home in Westbury Road, in the early hours of August 21. Sharaz Ali, 39, of no fixed address, is charged with murdering the family, as well as attempting to murder Ms Gawith's sister, Antonia Gawith. He has today appeared before Bradford Crown Court over a video link from HMP Leeds. He pleaded not guilty to all five charges, as well as a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to Antonia Gawith. He appeared alongside his co-accused Mohammed Shabir, 44, and Calum Sunderland, 25, both from Keighley. They are charged with four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Earlier hearings have been told that Ali had been in a coma since the fire and was not expected to be well enough to stand trial, even if he did wake up. His prognosis was later revised and, following a 'marked improvement' in his condition at the beginning of this year, Ali was charged with the offences in March after doctors found him fit to stand trial. He appeared at his first court hearings via video link from his hospital bed, before being moved to prison. The three defendants appeared together remotely from prison at Monday's hearing, when prosecutor David Brooke KC said Ali 'does appear to be fit'. Their trial is expected to go ahead on November 17, the court heard. In an emotional statement issued by police following the shocking deaths last August, the family said the loss of 'our B' and the children, referred to as 'Chuch, Oggy and Strawberry', had brought 'unimaginable sadness and grief'. The tribute read: 'Our B was the life and soul of the party, music was a big part of her life, she loved music, singing and dancing, she would always be singing and dancing with Chuch (Denisty), Oggy (Oscar) and Strawberry (Aubree). 'B was always a really happy, joyful, bubbly beautiful woman, who cared for everyone and was loved by everyone, her kids were everything to her, her whole life. 'Oggy had the cheekiest smile, he was cheeky but he was a shy boy, Strawbs was shy and bashful with big blue eyes and blonde hair and Chuch was a beautiful, confident, outgoing and creative young girl. 'We are still trying to comprehend what has happened to our beautiful family. 'No words can describe how we are feeling and no words could ever make up for the profound loss we are now faced with. 'We are overwhelmed and grateful for all the support and kind words we are receiving, but we ask as a family if we can be given the respect and privacy so we can try to come to terms with the unimaginable sadness and grief of this tragic loss of our beautiful family. 'Also our thoughts and support for the father of our three babies. Please allow him peace to grieve and come to terms with the loss of his family.'
