'As I was about to leave, [her] teacher came over to me and said she just wanted to say thank you for the lovely feedback I had written about her and how she's really loved teaching [my daughter],' the woman wrote. She added, 'She then threw her arms around me and gave me a hug, and said thank you, and [that] she will miss [my daughter] so much.' 'I didn't really think anything of it,' the original poster (OP) continued, adding, 'But another school mom saw this and said [the teacher] didn't hug any of the other parents." 'I'm ignoring,' the woman said at the end of her post before asking, 'But just wondered if this was a bit OTT [over the top]?!' The vast majority of post commenters said they agreed that the other mom's comment was unnecessary — but also said the OP shouldn't let it get to her. '[The teacher] felt appreciated. Don't let other people make you overthink this,' one person wrote. 'Why would she hug every parent?' another user offered. 'She was saying something to you that she wasn't saying to the other parents. The fact that you didn't think anything of it in the moment suggests that it was appropriate in that moment.' Cringeworthy moment NFL star dodges handsy fan as she makes inappropriate move in public
Cincinnati Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase was the subject of a cringeworthy moment over the weekend in New York City as he slid away from a woman's hug while leaving a nightclub. In the early hours of Sunday morning, Chase walked out of Manhattan hotspot Zero Bond to much fanfare. The wide receiver tried to find his car, a black SUV, with plenty parked along the street. The unidentified woman was standing in between Chase and his ride away from the club in a skin-tight outfit, feet from where the wide receiver had just dapped up another person. The woman goes to hug Chase and gets her right arm around him, while he does not make contact with her and keeps walking without stopping, per TMZ. Chase then finds his car and gets in on the side of the street where people are not recording with their phones, as two other females get in before the drive away. Back on the street in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood outside Zero Bond, the woman stares back at Chase upset that he did not show her affection in return with a mean look on her face. The woman responded on TikTok to her attempted hug of Chase, saying the pair do have a history together. 'Dang, I can't hug a old friend in NYC,' the woman captioned the video. By the comments on the video, at least one person is not buying that they are just friends. 'Sista the face you made now you know he's not just a friend,' one TikTok commenter said. 'Bro the way she made that face and walked off was like a scene out of a rom-com,' another person stated. Chase has plenty of attention on him these days as one of the elite wideouts in football, who recently got paid to cement his top-tier status. This offseason, Chase signed a 4-year, $161million contract with $112million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL by annual salary. The Bengals have now locked in their offensive core for years to come alongside fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins and quarterback Joe Burrow.

Teenager Florence surprises Charles with ‘awesome' hug
Teenager Florence McGrellis surprised the King with an 'awesome' hug at his final engagement of the day in Bradford. Florence, 15, launched herself at the royal visitor at a reception at Cartwright Hall, an art gallery and community cultural space in Lister Park. The King seemed to enjoy the gesture, smiling and patting her on the back. Florence was with a group from Pinnacle Performance 4 All, which is an inclusive Bradford fitness studio which aims to break down barriers to physical activity, especially for people with neurodivergency or long-term health conditions. Asked afterwards 'what was she thinking', Florence, who has Down's Syndrome, said it was 'awesome'. She said: 'Because I'm friendly and I'm very helpful, and I'm a hugger. 'And all my family are giving hugs. So I give them hugs.' She said: 'I felt very proud. It was also very exciting. I'm looking forward to meeting him again.' Asked what The King said to her, Florence, from Bingley, said: 'He asked us what do you do? And, what will you do in the future?' And asked what her friends at Titus Salt School, in Baildon, will think, she said: 'They don't know that I'm here but they will be very excited.' Pinnacle Fitness director Sophie Robinson was standing next to Florence. She said: 'Oh my goodness. I was slightly concerned that she was going to get rugby tackled to the ground by the security, but that didn't happen. 'You've got the grab these opportunities when you do, Florence, don't you? 'It absolutely amazing, really, really amazing.' She said: 'I was not surprised. If anyone was going to hug the King it was gong to be Florence.' Mrs Robinson added: '(The King) was really interested in the work that we do, and the different physical activity sessions that we run there. It was amazing.' Also at Cartwright Hall, the King was shown round the David Hockney Gallery to see a collection of the Bradford-born artist's work from the 1950s and reproductions of personal photos, on display in a public gallery for the first time. He also watched a performance by the Bantam of the Opera choir, a group of local Bradford City Football Club fans taught to sing opera by BBC Radio Leeds.

Dear Miss Manners: What is a polite way to refuse a hug with friends or strangers? What to do when my proffered handshake is batted away and a hug pursued instead? Some men, especially, seem to want to hug me because of my large chest, and it seems more like sexual assault than a friendly gesture. And there are certain women (whom I do not consider friends) who have behaved badly to me in the past, and I do not want them to touch me.
