How to read WhatsApp messages deleted by the sender

Ammon News - One of WhatsApp's most popular features of the app is that it lets you delete messages at the touch of a finger. People will often use the feature when they have sent a message to the wrong chat or sent something that has a mistake. However, our curiosity can often get the better of us when we are on the receiving end of deleted texts and are left wondering what is behind the mysterious message. While we are all guilty of retracting messages, there are thankfully ways of removing the curtain, even if the other user who sent it to you doesn't want you to. Additionally, both iOs and Android users will be happy to know that there are also simple ways to uncover chats deleted by accident. Here, MailOnline details clever tricks to recover deleted WhatsApp messages that are stored on your phone using backup features. Apps for iOS and Android If you are still looking for a way to recover a deleted WhatsApp message someone has sent to you, there are a range of apps which are designed to do the job. Anyone can access deleted message through a third-party app named Notification History which can be downloaded through the Google Play Store. However, there are limitations to these apps as only the messages that have generated a notification on the device, and have been seen or interacted with, can be recovered. However, if you choose to download specialised apps, particularly from Google Play where many apps contain malware that could infect a device, do act with caution. These apps can often be quite difficult to use and will most likely be full of ads if you do not opt for a paid version. Deleting the iOS app Firstly, before deleting the iOS all app users must make sure that their WhatsApp messages are backed up to the iCloud so they can be recovered. The next step will be to delete WhatsApp from your phone and reinstall it again using the App Store. Once the app is installed, sign back into your account. Now all you have to do is wait for the option that will appear offering for the previously backed up messages to be restored. When this option is selected, all WhatsApp messages will be recovered, even if they were deleted. Android Notifications History Settings Those with Android 11 and above, which the most recent devices support, will be glad to know deleted messages can also be recovered on their phones. The Notification History feature keeps a log of every message received through WhatsApp stored onto your phone. You will need to go to 'Settings' on your smartphone and select 'Apps and Notifications'. Then you will need to go into 'Notifications' and find the 'Notification History' option and press the button next to 'Use Notification History'. When this is completed, the menu will show a log of all notifications received by the device, which will include text messages found in WhatsApp before being having been deleted. If you ever want to return to the deleted messages, all you will need to do is come back to this section of your settings. Restore WhatsApp Database on Android An alternative method for Android users is to restore WhatsApp messages through a database. To start off with, launch the file browser on your device. Open the WhatsApp folder and go into 'Database' where all of the locally saved backup files for the app will be. Then you will need to long-press the ' file to select it, then press 'Edit name.' Change its name to 'msgstore to ensure that the file is not overwritten. Afterwards, you will need to choose the most recent backup file and change its name to ' Once this is done, open Google Drive on your smartphone and choose the menu option with three vertical lines on the upper right side. Click on 'Backups' and erase your WhatsApp backup. You will then need to delete WhatsApp and then install it again - you will then be prompted to recover WhatsApp from a local backup during installation as you no longer have a cloud backup. When prompted, choose the ' file and click 'Restore.' Daily Mail

What is France Identité and can foreigners use it?

As a one-step process for proving your ID or getting access to digital versions of vital documents for French life, France Identité sounds great. However as a foreigner in France, you may not be able to use it. What is France Identité? France Identité is an app created by the French government and providing a secure short-cut to access official websites. It also allows you to provide a digital proof of your ID and/or address when required, and offers an online ID-proof service that allows you to provide proof of your identity without having to divulge personal details to an external website. It's also used to access digital versions of key French documents - at present you can get a digital driving licence, next to be rolled out is the digital carte vitale and it seems likely that other documents will follow. The app is available now as either iOs or Android versions. Who can use it? Here's the bad news - in order to set up an account with France Identité you will need a French ID card, the carte nationale d'identité (CNI). Other forms of ID like a driver's licence, residency permit or passport cannot be used. The carte nationale d'identité is only issued to people who are French citizens - so foreigners cannot use the app unless they have French citizenship. French citizens can use it provided they have the new-style ID card - the ones that are the same size and shape as a credit card. This means that non French nationals cannot use the new digital version of the French driving licence, and will not be able to use the digital version of the carte vitale when that is rolled out, since these are provided via France Identité. In fact anything that offers you a shortcut via France Identité will not be available. Alternatives to using it In good news, the digital versions of the driving licence and carte vitale remain optional, so foreigners will just have to continue using the physical card. Likewise the shortcut to access on French official websites is not available, but you can still get in via entering your email address and password, or by using France Connect. French rail operators SNCF have also announced that France Identité can be used to prove your ID while on a train - but inspectors will still accept proof of ID via other means such as a residency permit or passport. Not to be confused with France Identité is not the same as Identité Numérique - this is another online ID verification tool that allows a shortcut to secure access to French government sites, but instead of being run by the government it is run by La Poste. Identité numérique can be used by some foreigners but not all - if you are not a French or EU citizen you will need to use your residency permit to confirm your identity, and only multi-year cartes de séjour are accepted. Full details on how Identité numérique works HERE. The one useful admin shortcut that everyone can use is France Connect - this is more basic than the two ID apps, but does allow you easier access to French government websites.
