iPhone 16 Pro gets a major price cut on Amazon: Check bank deals and offer details

As anticipation builds for the launch of the iPhone 17 series this September, Apple's previous-generation smartphones are beginning to see price reductions. Amazon is currently offering a notable deal on the iPhone 16 Pro, making it an opportune moment for users considering an upgrade. The iPhone 16 Pro, which carries a standard price tag of ₹ 1,19,900 for the 128GB model, is now listed at ₹ 1,11,900 on Amazon, reflecting a seven per cent discount. In addition to this markdown, customers can benefit from supplementary bank and exchange offers, potentially lowering the cost further. Eligible customers using ICICI, SBI, or Kotak Bank credit cards can avail a flat ₹ 3,000 discount on transactions of ₹ 71,940 or above. Furthermore, the platform is offering exchange benefits of up to ₹ 52,100, depending on the condition and model of the device being traded in. For example, users exchanging an iPhone 14 Pro in good condition may receive up to ₹ 42,000 off the purchase price. In terms of specifications, the iPhone 16 Pro is equipped with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display and supports ProMotion technology for a 120Hz refresh rate. The device runs on Apple's A18 Pro chipset and includes 8GB of RAM. It also integrates new AI-driven features such as Genmoji, Visual Intelligence, and Image Playground. On the camera front, the smartphone features a triple-lens setup comprising a 48MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP telephoto unit. It supports Photographic Styles and includes a newly introduced Camera Control button designed for easier access to photography tools. With the iPhone 17 launch nearing, such discounts on the iPhone 16 Pro may attract buyers looking to upgrade to a recent Apple flagship at a reduced price. Meanwhile, Apple may be preparing to enter the foldable smartphone segment, with fresh reports suggesting the company could launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. While the tech giant has yet to confirm any official plans, media reports and analysts indicate that development is now well underway, with a release potentially slated for the second half of next year.

iPhone 17: What We Know So Far About The Upcoming Apple Model

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 in September 2025, continuing its annual update cycle for its flagship smartphone line. While the company has not confirmed any specifications, analysts and supply chain reports have provided early indications of what users can expect. According to a recent note by TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may introduce a new design for the iPhone 17 series, which could include changes to the front-facing camera system. Kuo has suggested that a 'pill-and-hole' display cutout, first seen in the iPhone 14 Pro models, may be removed in favour of an under-display camera and Face ID technology. Reports from display industry sources, including Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), have indicated that Apple is working with suppliers such as Samsung and LG to integrate under-display components. However, full implementation may be limited to higher-end models in the iPhone 17 range. The iPhone 17 may also feature improvements in processing power. Apple is likely to debut the A19 chip, built on an advanced node by TSMC, although no official confirmation has been made. In previous years, Apple has introduced new chips with each flagship model. There is also speculation around changes to the phone's materials. According to Bloomberg , Apple is exploring the use of lighter casing materials, possibly involving aluminium or a different grade of titanium for select models. The company introduced titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro line, replacing stainless steel. Analysts have suggested that the iPhone 17 line-up could include a new 'Slim' model, which may replace the Plus variant. This version is expected to feature a slightly smaller display and a different design, although Apple has not commented on the matter. Apple has not officially announced the iPhone 17, and all details remain subject to change. The company typically unveils new iPhones in early September, followed by a release later in the month.

iPhone 17 series might feature a new, upgraded Dynamic Island with iOS 26: Report

The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in the first half of September this year. Ahead of the launch, there are several rumours and leaks about the latest iteration of iPhones. The Dynamic Island in the iPhone 17 series is going to get a significant upgrade. It is expected to evolve over the next few years, as per leaks. Tipster Majin Bu shared several rendering and purported dummy units of the iPhone 17 with an extended camera bump and Apple logo in the usual place. 'I can reveal that the Dynamic Island is set for a significant evolution in the coming years. Apple appears committed to making it more functional and integrated, turning it into a key element of the user experience,' the tipster was quoted as saying in an interview with 'This development could mark a step forward in device interaction, but for now, I'll keep further details under wraps. Stay tuned to see how this innovation unfolds,' they further said, adding that the Cupertino-based tech giant is looking to make the Dynamic Island more functional and integrated. With the iPhone 17 series launching soon, it is likely that the Dynamic Island will also change. The feature was first seen on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022; the Dynamic Island took the place of the notch that iPhones were previously known for. This notch housed the Face ID sensors and selfie camera. The Dynamic Island has good lock-screen capabilities and could get even better in the future. Several Android phone manufacturers have introduced features similar to Apple's Dynamic Island, with Realme's Mini Capsule being a notable example. Apple's main competitor, Samsung, also seems to think that the Dynamic Island is a useful little feature, as it's introduced something similar to it called the Now Bar in its 2025 Galaxy flagships. However, Apple can be quite secretive about its new phone releases, and nothing is certain until we see the new phones. The iPhone 17 series will reportedly be launched during the first week of September 2025.

Apple iPhone 17 models may come with redesigned Dynamic Island with iOS 26 enhancements

Representative image Apple is expected to unveil its next generation iPhone series — iPhone 17 in September at the company's annual hardware event. Now a new leak has surfaced online revealing that with the upcoming iPhone 17, Apple may bring a signifiant overhaul to the Dynamic Island which Apple introduced on 2022 with the launch of iPhone 14 Pro models. It is expected that the change will bring a new look to the user interface. As reported by Digital Chat Station, Apple has planned modifications for the Dynamic Island's user interface, which might be implemented through software updates within iOS 26. While the precise nature of these software enhancements remains under wraps, the focus appears to be on refining the user experience and functionality of the Dynamic Island. Rumors about a smaller Dynamic Island cutout have circulated for months, particularly for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but recent reports suggest that such a hardware change may be delayed until the iPhone 18 Pro. If any size reduction does occur this year, it could apply across all iPhone 17 models, though sources remain divided. iPhone 17 Air may come in lightest Apple Blue yet In related news, Apple is rumoured to replace the Plus variant with an all-new Air model. This soft blue tone is believed to be a reimagined version of the Turquoise colour found on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.

4 phones like Nothing Phone 3 that looked odd at first but went on to gain a cult following

Nothing launched the Nothing Phone 3 yesterday on July 4 for ₹ 79,999. Apart from the higher-than-expected pricing, the phone also debuted a polarising design. This mostly has to do with the placement of the camera lenses and the new 'Glyph Matrix' interface. Nothing Phone 3 with is asymmetrical camera setup, and the new Glyph Matrix.(Aishwarya Panda/HT) Now, while design is subjective, and many actually do appreciate the design, over the years we have had several phones which at first seemed to have polarising designs that divided communities on the internet, but eventually, people understood where the brands were coming from. Eventually, they became the norm, and this includes some really popular models, including some popular iPhones. So, without much further ado, let us tell you about a few models of mobile phones over the years which shocked the internet. The iPhone 11 Pro debuted the triple-camera iPhone layout that is still ongoing. It is laid out in a triangular fashion in the top left of the phone, and it has given the pro models their unique identity ever since. Since the iPhone 11 Pro, there have been multiple models that have shipped with the same look, albeit with larger camera lenses: the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro, and now the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 11 Pro was subject to a lot of memes, with many people comparing it to gas stoves, but over the years, people have just learnt to embrace it. And now, it is the 'iPhone look,' and is also reportedly responsible for the smooth lens transitioning when you switch. iPhone X The iPhone X debuted with the infamous notch. It housed the various sensors for the front-facing Face ID array, which was the new biometrics method replacing Touch ID. Now, it was certainly polarising because a cutout was unheard of at that time, and Apple was one of the few to implement it. Over the years, it became an industry-wide trend, with Android makers also introducing notches. From the iPhone X all the way to the iPhone 14 models, Apple continued to ship the notch. And now, even with the iPhone 16, the notch is still present. It did transform into the Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 Pro, but overall, the notch did function as a key design change to allow Face ID to come into existence. Nothing Phone (1) The Nothing Phone (1), of course, just like the Nothing Phone 3, was a polarising design for a smartphone. It featured a transparent back with industrial bits like the screws and other components visible through the transparent back. This was a unique aesthetic that was not really seen before, albeit with some exceptions. But over the years, they established the Nothing identity, the transparent aesthetic that the brand is known for now. Several other products, including the latest headphones, also offer this transparent aesthetic, and people now appreciate Nothing for coming up with a unique look that certainly stands out in a sea of similar-looking phones. Essential PH-1 The Essential PH-1 was created by the Android co-founder, Andy Rubin, and it did ship with a set of very premium materials, including ceramic and titanium. Yes, titanium before Apple did it. Now, when it comes to design, it was again unique in its own sense. It debuted with a U-shaped, teardrop-style camera cutout and a chin, so it did make for an immersive experience on the front. Overall, though, it was quite minimal. The back had no camera bump; everything was laid out flush. And if you think about it, it did the flat-sides look with a flat front and back before some other Android makers, and in fact, even before Apple switched to the flat look with the iPhone 12 Pro. Maybe it was too ahead of its time.
