Gmail's new ‘Manage subscriptions' tool will help declutter your inbox

Google announced on Tuesday that it's launching a new Gmail feature that is designed to help users easily manage their subscriptions and declutter their inboxes. The new 'Manage subscriptions' tool is rolling out on the web, Android, and iOS in select countries. With the new feature, users can view and manage their subscription emails in one place and quickly unsubscribe from the ones they no longer want to receive. Users can view their active subscriptions, organized by the most frequent senders, alongside the number of emails they've sent in the past few weeks. Clicking on a sender provides a direct view of all emails from them. If a user decides to unsubscribe, Gmail will send an unsubscribe request to the sender on their behalf. 'It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of subscription emails clogging your inbox: Daily deal alerts that are basically spam, weekly newsletters from blogs you no longer read, promotional emails from retailers you haven't shopped in years can quickly pile up,' Chris Doan, Gmail's Director of Product, wrote in a blog post. Users can access the new feature by clicking the navigation bar in the top-left corner of their Gmail inbox and then selecting 'Manage subscriptions.' It's worth noting that the launch of the feature doesn't come as a surprise, as some users spotted the tool back in April. Manage subscriptions joins Gmail's other tools that are designed to declutter your inbox, such as the one-click unsubscribe tool that rolled out last year. The feature allows users to unsubscribe from emails using a simple 'unsubscribe' button, getting rid of the need to navigate through websites or the bottom of emails when looking to unsubscribe from promotional and newsletter content. Google says the new feature will begin rolling out on the web starting Tuesday, with Android and iOS users starting to receive it on July 14 and July 21, respectively. It may take up to 15 days from the start of the rollout for the feature to reach every user, the company says. The Manage subscriptions feature is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual Subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. Proton Mail is rolling out a tool to help you get rid of those unwanted subscriptions

TL;DR Proton Mail is rolling out a feature called 'Newsletters view.' Newsletters view is a focused space that organizes all of your subscriptions in one place to help you declutter your inbox. It features two separate tabs for quick access to active subscriptions and mail lists from which you've unsubscribed. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of email sitting in your inbox. Things like promos, job alerts, store updates, and more can often make up the bulk of the messages waiting for you to open. While some of these newsletters may be important, others may not be. To help you declutter your inbox, Proton Mail is getting a new feature to round up these subscriptions. Today, Proton announced it will be rolling out a new feature called 'Newsletters view.' The feature is being released gradually, and it will be located in the sidebar once it arrives. As the company explains, you'll be able to use Newsletters view to see and manage all of your email subscriptions in one place. Separate from your normal inbox, this is a focused space that allows you to browse through these subscriptions. This feature aims to help you figure out which newsletters you want to keep and which ones you wish to cancel. You can then cancel everything you don't want with one click. In addition to unsubscribing, you can filter by sender and delete everything they ever sent you or manage emails individually. Proton mentions that Newsletters view will have two tabs, one for active subscriptions and the other for emails you've unsubscribed from. You'll also be able to see how often a sender emails you and spot what subscriptions you've stopped reading. Overall, it sounds like it could be a handy tool to help clean up your overcrowded inbox. Proton adds that this feature will be built directly into your Proton Mail inbox, so you won't have to install anything. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
