El-Khatib affirmed that the Turkish company's new launch reflects the growing confidence of foreign investors in the Egyptian market, supporting the state's plans to expand exports. He also stressed the ministry's keenness to provide all forms of support to KCG Textiles to facilitate the implementation of its investments in Egypt, especially with the move to launch a POY production plant as part of the next phase of plans. 'Even $400/month would be enough': Singaporean with medical condition seeks remote job guidance
SINGAPORE: The advent of the internet has made working from home, or from anywhere else, for that matter, extremely possible. The whole world saw this happen during the COVID-19 pandemic, although in the years that followed, people have gone back to the office. Additionally, some countries are more friendly toward working remotely than others. A local Reddit user, whose health condition makes regular in-person work challenging, wondered about this in a recent post. ' I know it's a dumb question, but if you had a phone and internet, is it possible to get a remote job in Singapore?' asked u/DreamsOfBlueberries on r/askSingapore on Thursday (Jul 3). The post author explained that they had a 'pretty severe medical condition' that not only affected them both mentally and socially but also caused them to be 'stuck at home for years.' At present, they are undergoing treatment, but they added that this situation is difficult for their mother, who is the family's sole breadwinner. In a comment, they wrote that even earning S$400 monthly would be enough. 'I wanna do what I can to help, but my pain knows no routine right now, so it'll get in the way of a regular job with schedules. Sometimes, the pain keeps me up late at night, but I've been thinking of using this to my advantage. I don't have any prior work experience, so I have had little luck,' they wrote. The post author added that they've looked into call center, data entry, and telemarketing jobs and have even seen crypto platform sites that promise 'crazy profits,' but they don't have the money to invest in them. They are also considering international remote jobs as a last resort. However, they are aware they could get scammed since the verification process isn't as rigorous as it is in Singapore. 'I really just want a job and to be a normal human being. Not being able to contribute to my family is killing me inside and causing me crazy depression,' the post author added. Many commenters on the post wrote suggestions to u/DreamsOfBlueberries, with the one that brought up being a Shopee Collection Point getting the most upvotes. 'In your case, I would consider being a Shopee collection point. That is, you do not mind having people ringing your doorbell for parcel collection anytime during the day and a little bit of social interaction. You'll need to be open on at least one weekend as well. Being a collection point only requires an app on your phone to scan the parcels. You will have to handle storing them and sorting them for easy access. You get paid S$0.30 per parcel. It's not a lot, but somewhere to start,' the commenter wrote, adding that affiliate marketing might be another possibility later on. 'Talk to WSG career counselors via MyCareerFuture. It does work, and they are normally able to place somewhere. Keep expectations low, and you might need a computer,' suggested another. 'If you are aiming for a remote job, then IMO learning programming is the way to go,' one wrote, while another chimed in to suggest, 'Survey platforms. You need to hustle hard to make about S$50 to S$100 a month, though.' 'Maybe you can try doing a transcription job. You don't really need experience in transcription, as the job is about you receiving a recording and typing out the words. The salary is not fixed per hour, like S$10/hr, but rather, is based on the duration of the recording itself. You will be given a deadline to submit. It's really an OTOT (own time, own target) kind of job, which sounds like a great fit for your situation,' a Reddit user wrote. /TISG Read also: How much of a pay cut would you be willing to take in exchange for going from fully Work From Office to hybrid Work From Home?

Your daily horoscope: June 28, 2025
If you feel the need to change jobs this year, or even switch to a whole new career, you must be brave and take the plunge. Why stay stuck in a working environment that does not appreciate you or reward you appropriately for your outstanding talents? With Neptune in your sign you may want to save the world but common sense should tell you to lower your sights a little. Is there someone you know – a family member or a friend – who is in need of assistance? Focus exclusively on them. You may suspect that someone is playing games with you but how can you know for sure? The simply fact is you cannot, so be on your guard this weekend but don't erect the kind of barriers that make it obvious you no longer trust them. You must speak plainly and clearly over the next 48 hours, even if what you have to say is unlikely to endear you to other people. Mercury, your ruler, will encourage you to work out what is really going on and then let everyone know about it. You may not be entirely convinced that what others insist is a golden opportunity is right for you but don't dismiss it out of hand. It could be that if you give it a go now you will come into some serious money early next week. You know what it is you want out of life and you will go all out to get it over the next few days. Anyone who thinks they can dissuade you from following your dream could find themselves in their own living nightmare! You may not be one for keeping secrets but if you are smart you won't go public with information that could one day benefit you personally. Knowledge is power and what you know could be worth a great deal of money as well. Try to be realistic about what you can expect from other people. Not everyone shares your drive and ambition, or your clear-sighted views of what needs to be done in the world, so make allowances for those of lesser talents and fainter hearts. You need to stop pussyfooting around on the work front and get started on something that could one day bring you both fame and fortune. Don't wait for the stars to align and everything to be perfect, just go for it and make it happen. Differences of opinion with friends and colleagues are inevitable this weekend but if you don't make too a big deal of them it's unlikely they will hold you back. You can disagree a little and still work together toward a common goal. The planets warn that some of the people you will be dealing with this weekend have extremely thin skins, so try not to be too critical about what they are doing and how they are doing it. You don't want them to break down completely. You will need to be on your guard this weekend, especially when dealing with situations that are in some way alien to you. If you don't know what your next move should be then don't be afraid to ask someone who has a lot more experience. A sudden insight into how to make money must not be ignored. The fact that no one else seems to have noticed it does not mean it is wrong – it just means they don't have the imagination to see past the traditional way of doing things. DA launches initiative in northern areas to assist job seekers
Scores of unemployed youth gathered at the West End Community Hall on Thursday, seeking assistance with job applications and tools to help them stand out in the job market. The launch of JobsConnectEC by the DA marks the beginning of several initiatives the party will roll out across the Eastern Cape over the next 18 months, aimed at tackling the province's unemployment rate of 39.3% and an expanded rate of 49%. The youth received assistance with drafting their CVs, were connected to job opportunities, and took tests provided by Action Volunteer Africa to help guide their career choices. Unveiling the programme, DA MPL Vicky Knoetze said they chose to launch it in the northern areas as it was affected by high levels of youth unemployment. 'We've created an opportunity centre by connecting people to opportunities after we realised that many don't have the tools to do job-seeking basics such as CVs, opening bank accounts or have access to clothing for a job interview,' Knoetze said. 'So we decided to bring all this together, including a Wi-Fi hotspot in our ward councillor's office. 'We want to roll this out in every constituency and municipality, especially in the rural areas where there's a complete lack of opportunities.' Robyn Rautenbach said she had spent five months job hunting after resigning from her previous job for personal reasons. 'It's been so difficult finding the opportunities and getting Wi-Fi access because it's so expensive.' Another unemployed youth, Anita Blaauw, said she had been looking for work for almost four years. 'I'm at a point where I don't know if there's something wrong with my CV or whether I'm applying for the wrong jobs, but it has been difficult. 'I understand that competition is tough among job seekers because there are too many of us gunning for the same jobs, but what can we do when you're striving for a better future for your children and family as a whole?' Game designers are being hired in these non-gaming industries. Here's why
The succession of layoffs at AAA game studios might seem to have no bottom, but jobs data shows that there's still plenty of opportunity outside of Ubisoft. The demand for game designers has increased over the past year in industries outside traditional gaming. According to a Fast Company analysis of 176,000 job listings gathered from Google Careers between fall/winter 2023 and fall/winter 2025, the percentage of postings for game designers rose significantly in several non-gaming sectors in the past year. This came at a time when listings for game designers within the gaming industry itself experienced only a modest, 4% increase. The technology sector, which accounted for 41% of all game designer listings in 2024, increased its share by 20%; tech represented 61% of all game design postings in 2025. The most dramatic shift occurred in the education industry, where the share of game design job postings soared from 9.12% to 28.81% of all listings. The media and publishing arena also showed increased demand, with its share climbing from 4.18% to 9.30%, a 122% surge.
