IITs release class schedule as per Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2025 plan
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has published the orientation and class commencement schedule for all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), setting the academic calendar in motion for the incoming batch of 2025–26. According to the official notice, the process across IITs will include three phases—physical reporting, orientation (often involving parents), and start of classes—with dates varying from July 20 to August are required to report at their allotted institutes on dates ranging from July 20 (IIT Bombay, IIT Gandhinagar) to August 4 (IIT Tirupati and IIT Indore), depending on the institution. Orientation programmes typically follow immediately after reporting and include campus familiarisation, academic briefings, and cultural most IITs, academic sessions are scheduled to begin between July 28 and August 4. Notably, IIT Gandhinagar's foundation programme will run until mid-August, with classes starting on August 18.
