Mare Mare debuts new menu by chef Michele Minchillo inspired by classic Italian cuisine

Our fav seaside spot Mare Mare has got an update and we could not be more excited to try it. The laidback Italian eatery by the sea at Jumeirah Saadiyat Island is turning a new chapter with a fresh menu crafted by chef Michele Minchillo, the restaurant's new Chef de Cuisine. With a career that spans MICHELIN-starred kitchens in Italy, London, Dubai and New York, Chef Minchillo is bringing a whole lot of passion and precision to the table. His newly launched menu is a tribute to honest Italian cooking with a refined twist. The focus is firmly on fresh ingredients and keeping things simple. So don't be surprised to find mains like the branzino al forno, a baked sea bass served with roasted potatoes, cherry tomatoes and parsley or a dentince alla Mediterranea, a red sea bream served with seafood sauce, tomato, capers and lemon olive tapenade on the new menu. You'll enjoy familiar classics like the delicate crudi like tartara di tonno with yellowfin tuna, avocado and mango, or a tartara di manzo made with Angus beef, mushrooms, black truffle and a sharp Dijon mustard dressing. Things get even more interesting when you dive into the antipasti. Think slow-cooked veal loin with tuna sauce and capers in the vitello tonnato, or grilled octopus layered with capsicum sauce and olive croutons in the polpo alla brace. But of course, the carbs are not to be missed. The pizza selection includes the punchy diavola, while the pasta lineup gives you rustic comfort with dishes like maltagliati all'anatra, fresh pasta with duck ragu and mint leaves. And because no Italian menu is complete without a sweet finale, you'll want to save room for dessert. Expect traditional crowd-pleasers like tiramisu, panna cotta and a rich torta caprese. Ready for your next seaside escapade? You know where to go. Peruse the new menu:

Restaurant review: Mirabelle

A little taste of the Cote d'Azur… At Mirabelle, it's all blue waters, anchored boats, and that effortless kind of luxury you find along the Mediterranean – just with Dubai's own twist. Set by the water at the new Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, it's the kind of place where a leisurely lunch easily flows into sunset drinks. Laid-back yet polished just right, Mirabelle almost makes you forget you're still in the city. Inspired by the Côte d'Azur, the vibe is quietly chic and relaxed – what's not to love? The vibe Mirabelle's outdoor terrace feels like a slice of the Mediterranean by the water, with boats drifting by and a relaxed atmosphere. Inside, the vibe is warm and elegant, offering a more intimate, cosy space. Both options give you a different mood. The chef Chef Sacha Enjalbert, a French native, brings nearly a decade of experience to Mirabelle. Having worked in renowned kitchens across France and the UAE, he's now crafting his own take on Mediterranean cuisine. Sacha's passion for timeless flavours shines through in every dish, offering something simple yet special. The food For starters, we had the Tuna Tartare , a light dish with creamy avocado, piquillo peppers, and croutons (Dhs95), and the Escargots de Bourgogne , cooked in a signature garlic butter and herbs, which was rich and full of flavour (Dhs65 for 6 pcs). The Salmon Gravlax (Dhs90) was a perfect balance of tangy and savoury, a perfect way to start your meal. For mains, we had the Beef Tartare (Dhs130), hand-cut tenderloin beef with homemade French fries that paired perfectly with it. The Chargrilled Lamb Chops (Dhs175), marinated with thyme and lemon, were juicy and tender, served with a creamy mashed potato. The Mediterranean Sea Bass (Dhs175) was another standout, with bouillabaisse, clams, and candied tomatoes, a truly authentic dish. The Roasted Scallops (Dhs175 for 5 pcs), served with a citrus beurre blanc and glazed winter vegetables, were delicate yet packed with flavour. For dessert, we couldn't resist the Orange-infused Crème Brûlée (Dhs35), which was the perfect end to a great meal. Verdict If you love seafood and the laid-back charm of the South of France, Mirabelle is the place to be. A spot that gets seafood right – and where quiet luxury speaks for itself.
