Cyclist hit by vehicle taken to hospital in critical condition
An adult woman cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday evening after she was hit by a vehicle in Stittsville, paramedics say. Paramedics said they were called to the area near Sweetnam Drive and Granite Ridge just before 5 p.m. Paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps said the woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in critical life-threatening condition. Paramedics did not confirm the woman's age or the make of the vehicle that hit her. Ottawa Police closed Sweetnam Drive from Harry Douglas Drive to Hazeldean Road, and advised people to avoid the area.

Victim taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after incident in Halifax
Halifax Regional Police respond to an incident on Gottingen Street on July 10, 2025. (Paul DeWitt/CTV Atlantic) A person has life-threatening injuries following an incident that prompted a large police response in central Halifax late Thursday night. Halifax Regional Police said they were in the 2000 block of Gottingen Street responding to a weapon complaint around 11:30 p.m. An adult victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. People were asked to avoid the area while police investigated. Gottingen Street reopened just before 4 a.m. There is no word on the nature of the incident or if police are looking for any suspects. Several people in life-threatening condition following 2-vehicle crash in Mississauga

(THE CANADIAN PRESS/Cole Burston) Several people are in life-threatening condition after two vehicles collided in Mississauga Thursday afternoon, Peel police say. It happened on Ninth Line and Candlelight Drive, east of Highway 407. Police did not say the exact number of victims that were transported to a trauma centre. Police say one person from one of the vehicles fled on cause of the collision is unknown at this time.

Man fighting for life after shooting west of Mackay
A man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting incident west of Mackay in North Queensland. Police and paramedics were called to a property at Devereux Creek, about 35 kilometres west of Mackay, just before 10:30am. The man in his 30s has been taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a life-threatening condition. Police said there was no threat to the public.

18-year-old shot and critically injured in Rochester shooting
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — An 18-year-old is in life-threatening condition after he was shot Saturday night in Rochester, according to police. Rochester police responded to the intersection of Augustine Street and Dove Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday. When officers got to the scene, they learned the victim was being driven to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle. Investigators said an 18-year-old Rochester man is in life-threatening condition after he was shot. News 8 crews were also on scene and saw police shut down the intersection of Augustine and Dove, and at least eight RPD cars were responding.
