'Odour investigation' forces evacuation of some residents in Wheatley
Residents of a section of Foster Street in Wheatley are being evacuated due to what Chatham-Kent police are calling a "odour investigation."
Residents are being evacuated on Foster Street between Victoria and Erie, police said in a statement.
A temporary shelter has been established at the local arena at 196 Erie Street N. for those displaced by the evacuation.
All emergency services are currently on scene to manage the situation.
Police are urging the public to stay away from the area until further notice.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent referred questions to police. It was not immediately clear how many residents are being evacuated.
