Lorry crashes into car in Wolverhampton after driver taken ill
A lorry crashed into a car in Wolverhampton after the driver of the HGV became unwell behind the wheel. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and an air ambulance attended the scene on Penn Road at 09:14 BST on Friday, where three people were treated. The driver of the car was taken to New Cross Hospital for potentially serious injuries, while a boy was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service said the lorry driver had suffered a suspected medical episode and following treatment, was also taken to hospital. Attendant dies in 2-lorry crash on North-South Expressway.
The attendant was trapped in the front passenger seat, while the two lorry drivers were uninjured. (JBPM pic) PETALING JAYA : A lorry attendant died in a crash between two lorries at KM79.9 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) near Ayer Hitam, Johor, today. The 26-year-old attendant, who was trapped in the front passenger seat, died at the scene in the 8.35am incident. The 40-year-old driver and the second lorry's driver, 35, were unhurt. The crash blocked all three lanes of the highway heading south, causing traffic congestion. Ayer Hitam fire and rescue station operations commander Nasrul Rahman Rusdi said they received an emergency call just before 9am and sent six personnel from the station to the scene.

Guildford traffic disruption after lorry hits railway bridge
A section of road in Guildford is closed after a lorry crashed into a railway vehicle, travelling westbound on the A25 Midleton Road, hit the bridge at about 06:00 BST on were delayed following the incident but were using the bridge as normal again from 08:00, according to Network Police said the westbound carriageway remained closed while officers helped remove the vehicle. Network Rail said it had stopped trains as a precaution to allow for an inspection of the bridge."We thank passengers for their patience and understanding and apologise for the disruption this incident caused to their journeys," a spokesperson added.

Major M62 delays after lorry crash
Drivers have been warned of major delays on the M62 after a lorry crash which caused fuel to leak onto the road. The vehicle hit the railings on a bridge on the A49 Newton Road, in Warrington, which caused the fuel to spill over the motorway. The M62 has been closed in both direction within junction nine as a result and could be shut for several hours, Cheshire Police said. A National Highways spokesman said traffic is being diverted onto exit and entry slip roads, with delays of up to 45 minutes expected. A police spokeswoman said there were no reports of injuries after the lorry crashed earlier. National Highways said its service providers are on scene to assess the road surface and damaged to the barrier. A spokesman said there are delays of 45 mins on the eastbound section on the M62 and congestion is around three miles, while westbound there are delays of 20 mins and congestion is two miles.
