Mo Gilligan 'has fathered a secret love child after short-lived romance with a model - and is set to welcome another baby with his long-term girlfriend'
Mo Gilligan has fathered a secret love child after a brief relationship with a model, it has been claimed. The comedian, 37, reportedly had a short-lived romance with model Selina Christoforou, and she gave birth to a son named Rudi in January 2024. Sources are also claiming that Mo, who stars on The Masked Singer, is now expecting his first child in a matter of weeks with his girlfriend Taia Tulher. It's thought that the couple have been quietly dating for two years, and are now living together in London, according to The Sun. A source said: 'Mo met Selina after messaging her on social media and they hung out casually for a few months. 'She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they'd been fairly careful. But she wanted to have the baby, despite the fact they weren't actually a couple. 'She adores their son and Mo sees him semi-regularly. Now he's about to become a dad for a second time and he's over the moon.' Mo previously split from his girlfriend of four years, actress Sophie Wise, at the end of 2022, and it was then revealed he was looking for love on celebrity dating app Raya. Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Mo Gilligan for comment. Taia had first revealed her pregnancy in an Instagram post back in March, but had never revealed her partner's identity. Revealing her growing bump, she captioned her post: 'Today, I carry the love that made me, the love I've always known… and the love I've only just begun to understand. 'For a long time, I didn't know when I would share this. But now feels right. Because today, on Mother's Day, I get to celebrate my own mother - and the tiny soul who has already made me one, too.' Mo has previously opened up about the mental health struggles he had during his rise to fame in his 20s, before turning to therapy to help him cope. The comedian shot to fame in 2017 after going viral on social media and what followed was a string of huge TV gigs, including The Masked Singer, after joining the judging panel in 2020. Speaking to Jamie Laing on the Great Company podcast on Wednesday, Mo admitted that he 'lost' himself as the money came rolling in - before therapy helped him break down his walls and connect with people. 'I lost myself, I struggled in a sense of 'Wow this is all I've wanted, I've got the big cheque, but I'm not in the happiest place',' he said. 'I was massively depressed. That's when I started therapy. I didn't cry in my twenties, I put up a wall, and when I got depressed it all came out. 'Therapy helped me open up not so much to my therapist but other people, to let my real personality out and connect.' In 2022, Mo accepted the award for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme at the BAFTA TV Awards and used his speech to speak about his mental health. 'Oh s**t I'm so nervous. I have to big up Channel 4. In 2017 when I got offered a show, my mental health wasn't in the best place,' he reflected. 'Channel 4 brought me into this big building. They rusted me and let me be myself and bring black boy joy to the screens. The comedian was dealt a blow in 2023 after losing two of his television presenting gigs in one week. He revealed that year that Channel 4's The Lateish Show would not be returning after four series, and then his BBC show That's My Jam was given the chop by the broadcaster after one series. He was hand-picked for the programme by American comedian and television host Jimmy Fallon with the show being based on the music-themed segments of the US star's talk show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Why Prince Philip's rumoured love-child finally snapped after an awkward encounter with the Royal writes CHRISTOPHER WILSON
One day in 1988, out of the blue, Max Boisot, a respected professor in a Chinese university issued a bombshell statement declaring that he was not the son of Prince Philip. What made it odd was that nobody had asked him if he was. But for a moment it looked as though Mr Boisot was in possession of the answer to the age-old question – was Philip ever unfaithful to the Queen? And did he leave behind, after his 2021 death, a string of secret love-children? It's true that rumours had circulated for years that Boisot, the son of Philip's childhood friend and confidante Hélène Cordet, was indeed Philip's love-child. His sister Louise too, perhaps. Certainly his school fees at Gordonstoun had been paid for by Philip, the prince was his godfather, and Philip had gone out of his way to help Hélène establish a showbusiness career in London after the war. But on the day he made his statement, the matter had been long forgotten. It was as if Boisot wanted to draw attention to himself – and because he did, certain facts suddenly began to emerge which suggested that the professor could indeed have been a royal love-child. We can't ask him now because he died at the age of 67 in 2011 - but the bare facts, carefully chosen by his mother Hélène in her memoir 'Born Bewildered', point towards Max having royal blood. 'Unfortunately, far from quelling innuendo, Miss Cordet's autobiography merely fanned it,' wrote Philip's biographer John Parker. 'That way her book sold more copies.' Max had his school fees at Gordonstoun paid for by Philip, the prince was his godfather, and Philip had gone out of his way to help Hélène establish a showbusiness career in London after the war Philip and Hélène were childhood friends – she three years older – growing up in the affluent suburbs of Paris. Their parents had been thrown out of Greece – Philip's with little money, Hélène's with rather more. If they were close it didn't stop Hélène, a giddy extrovert, from romancing other boys - and in 1938 she married an Englishman, William Kirby, with a bashful-looking 17-year old Philip acting as best man. The marriage didn't last, and during the war years Hélène gave birth first to Max, then Louise. On the rebound she'd married a Frenchman, Marcel Boisot, but almost immediately he was posted to Cairo, and question marks remained over the children's parentage for many years to come. At the war's end – this marriage over, too - Hélène brought the children to London and set up a career as an actress and nightclub singer. Soon she was on TV hosting a show called Cafe Continentale. Philip had joined the Thursday Club, a notorious group of arty reprobates with a taste for wine, women and song. Through his contacts there he was able to get Hélène her own nightclub, the Saddle Room, which enjoyed a lucrative run during the 1950s and 60s. More than that, he paid for Hélène's kids' education, with Max being sent to his old school, Gordonstoun. This was long after Philip's marriage to the future Elizabeth II. Gossip columnists – knowing but not saying, or perhaps saying but not knowing – named Hélène as the 'mystery blonde' in Philip's life. And so Palace courtiers, ever suspicious of Philip's activities, ensured that when the Coronation came around in 1953, Hélène was barred from the ceremony. The children went with their grandmother – and when asked, Hélène was obliged to say she'd 'overslept' and thus missed the greatest event in postwar Britain. She liked to keep everybody guessing. Interviewed by a magazine, she said she 'got hot under the collar' watching Philip on TV. '[The way she spoke] was quite enough to spark off a story of major proportions,' wrote John Parker. And then it emerged that, though the children carried the name Boisot, their 'father' had not officially claimed parentage of them until years later, shortly before Hélène's memoirs came out. The question mark remained. On leaving school Max, an exceptionally gifted young man, became an architect and then management consultant. Louise followed in her mother's footsteps and became an actress and pop singer, touring with The Beatles and Roy Orbison. Gerry and the Pacemakers wrote their hit 'Don't Let the Sun Catch you Crying' for her, but soon she retreated to her native Greece, married, and thereafter shunned the limelight. For Max, it seemed as though he couldn't get far enough away from Britain, its royal family, and the constant whispering – and so after marrying a young debutante, Virginia Stevens, he left the country for good. By the mid-1980s he was Professor of Economics at the EuroChinese Business Centre on the outskirts of Beijing - about as far away from Buckingham Palace as he could get. And there the story would have rested – except that in October 1986 Philip, on a tour of China, went out of his way to visit Max. It started the rumour-mill all over again and finally Boisot was forced to break cover. 'I have heard these rumours all my life,' he declared, 'But they are ridiculous. Helen Cordet with her daughter who performed with The Beatles and Roy Orbison. Gerry and the Pacemakers wrote their hit 'Don't Let the Sun Catch you Crying' for her, but soon she retreated to her native Greece, married, and thereafter shunned the limelight 'My father – my real father – lives in Paris and it is silly to say otherwise. All this goes back to [Philip and Helene's] childhood friendship and there's nothing more to it than that.' What Max was too gracious to say is that if anybody stoked the rumours over the years, it was his mother Helene. And it left open – to this day – the intriguing question of whether Philip was ever unfaithful to his wife. And whether he left behind more children than the ones we know about.

Brian May's wife Anita Dobson breaks silence on Freddie Mercury secret lovechild claim - after woman took DNA test to prove she is the Queen star's daughter
Queen legend Brian May was left stunned by bombshell claims that his late bandmate Freddie Mercury fathered a secret love child – but wife Anita Dobson has admitted they're not convinced the story is true. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, the English actress, 76, revealed her own shock after hearing that Freddie allegedly fathered a daughter in the 1970s – and said Brian was equally floored by the news. She told the publication: 'I went "what?" I thought no? And I said to Brian: "Do you know about this?" And he said: "Do you believe this?".' The astonishing claim was made by biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, who says the Queen frontman secretly fathered a child during an affair in 1976 – and that she now has DNA evidence to back it up. Jones, who has written several books on Mercury, says the 48-year-old woman – identified only as 'B' – is the result of a fling between Mercury and the wife of a close friend. She alleges the late singer kept in contact with his daughter and even gave her 17 volumes of detailed personal journals before his death in 1991. The English actress, 76, revealed her own shock after hearing that Freddie (pictured in 1985) allegedly fathered a daughter in the 1970s – and said Brian was equally floored by the news But actress Anita is convinced that Freddie was too big a star for the news to have not leaked before. She said: 'There must be lots of people who have children that we don't know about. It's just because it's him. Because he's iconic. And the type of animal that he was, it seems inconceivable that he would have a child with someone we don't know about.' Anita added: 'If he does have one where is she - step forward. If she exists. Maybe it is just more fake news.' The new biography, titled Love Of My Life, claims Mercury shared the secret with his bandmates before he died – and that the woman now lives in Europe with a family of her own. In a handwritten letter included in the book, the woman writes: 'Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life. 'He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people's standards, unusual and even outrageous. That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. 'Those who have been aware of my existence kept his greatest secret out of loyalty to Freddie.' The star even reportedly had his own room in their family home, so he could spend as much time with her as possible, and called every day, even while he was touring with Queen. But actress Anita is convinced that Freddie was too big a star for the news to have not leaked before, she said: 'There must be lots of people who have children that we don't know about. It's just because it's him' (Anita and Brian pictured in May) Writer Jones has since hit back at those who claim the story doesn't stand up. She said: 'To those 'demanding' to see proof of a DNA test, otherwise they won't believe it - please rest assured that the requisite verification was obtained, legal teams have been involved, but that such measures are private and not shared publicly.' She also hit back at those questioning whether a cache of Mercury's secret diaries was faked using artificial intelligence. She posted: 'To those insisting Freddie Mercury's diaries were faked with AI, that his daughter 'doesn't exist' and that I've made the whole thing up: wait and see. 'His own story is his true story, told in his own words, is incredible. I love him all the more for it. You will too.' Flamboyant showman Mercury is known to have had several relationships with women including Mary Austin, whom he met when she was 19 and he 24. The couple lived together and were engaged for a while before Freddie came out as gay. Though they did not have children together, Mary went on to have two sons with another partner, while remaining close to Mercury for the rest of his life. He also had a relationship in the early 1980s with Austrian actress Barbara Valentin.

Billy Idol reveals reaction to his secret love child after sleeping with 'millions' of people he didn't know
Billy Idol has revealed he wasn't particularly shocked to have learned he fathered a secret love child due to his particularly rock 'n' roll sex life. A new documentary about Idol reveals that in 2023, the rock star, 69, learned about the existence of a son who was conceived during his Rebel Hearts tour in 1985 after results from his daughter's DNA test indicated she had a half-brother. Opening up about meeting his adult son Brand Broad during an interview with The i Paper, Idol revealed he was 'maybe a little bit' shocked to learn about his third child as he joked about the 'million' people he slept with. 'Maybe a little bit, but the more I thought about it, I guessed there must be something like that,' he said with a chuckle, 'because we were going around in the 80s, and 70s, just having knockdown, drag-out sex with a million people you didn't know. A lot of people in the rock world got children beyond their usual relationships.' He laughed as he considered the possibility of having more children out there: 'I think we would know about them now if there were.' It was Idol's daughter Bonnie Blue who first learned about her New York-based half-brother after she took a DNA test through 23 and Me. A new documentary about Idol reveals that in 2023, the rock star, 69, learned about the existence of a son who was conceived during his Rebel Hearts tour in 1985 after results from his daughter's DNA test indicated she had a half-brother Like Idol's father and his uncle Jack, Broad also works in construction. 'We're quite good friends, and I love him. He's a nice guy,' Idol told the publication. The revelation is explored in Billy's new documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, which recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Idol officially introduced Brant to his Instagram followers in 2023, sharing photos which he captioned, 'Had a lovely visit from my granddaughter McKenzie backstage at the kings theatre yesterday… also with my son @brant_northridge_broad… also McKenzie started school recently-BFI.' Idol has never married but, in addition to Brant, shares a son, Willem Wolfe Broad, 37, with Hot Gossip member Perri Lister, a daughter, Bonnie Blue Broad, 35, from his relationship with Linda Mathis. The reveal of a secret son should come as no surprise as Idol's life as a rocker was marred with addiction to heroin, pot, opium, an alcohol habit and a sex obsession. It wasn't until 1994 when he collapsed outside an LA club due to an overdose that Idol decided to turn his life around for his children's sake. And reportedly, he stopped using hard drugs in 2003. But did amend that he continued to smoke cannabis regularly. He told DailyMailTV in 2019 that he put his life on the line many times due to his rock and roll excess days, but now admits 'he enjoys it more' and no longer swigs vodka bottles during sets. 'For a singer, you need a ton of breath. You have to be fit to be a singer. You can't just be up there,' he told our outlet. 'You'd have a heart attack and die on stage, which would be interesting, but I much prefer to get through the gig and do another one.' Idol was born in Middlesex, England, before moving to the States in Patchogue, New York when he was two years old. The family moved back to England during his adolescence. Bonnie has daughters Poppy Rebel and MaryJane Rebel, while Brant and his wife also has two children. These days, the legendary Rebel Yell singer is living a more low-key lifestyle but still is rocking alongside Joan Jett & the Blackhearts for their upcoming It's a Nice Day to... Tour Again trek, which starts April 30 in Phoenix, Arizona. He lives in Los Angeles with his longtime girlfriend China Chow, the daughter of Michael, the co-founder of the Mr Chow restaurant chain.
