Dunkin' Celebrates Summer With Iconic New Menu Addition, Declaring 'Summer Should Be Fun' originally appeared on Parade. 'The hunt for that shiny plastic treasure starts now,' @markie_devo wrote in a recent post. 'The new Dunkin' Summer Munchkins Bucket was spotted at a few locations already,' he added. 'You should start seeing them pop up between now and next week. Wendy's fans are buzzing about this new product headed for grocery stores — not the drive-thru
It seems backyard Baconators could be in the works for Wendy's fans across the country this summer. Fans of the fast food chain are taking to social media after a delicious double-smoked development at their local supermarkets — the brand's beloved bacon has hit the retail market. A sharp-eyed aficionado reportedly first spotted the extra-thick-cut pork product at a Kroger supermarket in Kentucky — marketed as a 'restaurant-inspired' version of the tasty burger topper. Instagram foodies @remi4allthesnackgod and @markie_devo appear to have been the first to break the news to the general public — with additional reports quickly following. 'Time to make [baconators] at home!' wrote popular food news account @snackbetch. 'What next? Frosty?!' another fan commented hopefully. While many fans took to the comment section of the original Instagram post with glee, others were more skeptical. 'If it's overpriced like their chili in a can I won't be buying it,' one user commented. 'There's no difference between the regular bacon and 'Wendy's' bacon… [it's a] marketing ploy,' another complained. Bacon is a signature element of countless beloved Wendy's menu items. Kroger Shoppers are seeing more and more fast food items hitting retail shelves. AP The bacon is available at select Kroger and King Soopers locations, Parade reported. News of the fast food chain's latest supermarket release follows other recent forays into the grocery store world — including Wendy's signature fresh, never frozen (but now refrigerated) beef hamburger patties and the aforementioned canned chili. And Wendy's isn't the only fast food chain expanding their reach from the drive-thru to the aisles. Competitors like Arby's and White Castle also offer retail versions of some of their most popular restaurant products. Some social media users speculate that this push from Wendy's is an effort to keep up with rivals McDonald's and Burger King, especially amid declining sales and total revenue at the home of the square patty, which dropped over 1% from the past year. Despite this, Wendy's still holds the title for the cheapest fast food burger, as reported by Food Republic, so perhaps this sudden retail activity is a sign the chain is still alive and well. 'Looking ahead, we remain focused on these strategic priorities which will position Wendy's to win in the market and drive long-term growth across our global system of restaurants,' said Kirk Tanner, Wendy's President and Chief Executive Officer, after the close of Q1 in early 2025. Tanner maintained a positive outlook for the company, despite dips in sales growth, and also said that 68 new restaurants were added across the globe this year. Regardless of what the future holds for the company, fans are still excited to run to their local grocery stores and grab the ingredients to grill up their own backyard Baconators.

Taco Bell Turns Heads With New Spin on Fan-Favorite Menu Items
There's nothing like the return of a fan-favorite menu item -- especially when said item is deep-fried and smothered with charred steak, blistering jalapeños, and layers of nacho cheese. Indeed, in an exciting new development for Taco Bell's extensive menu, the global fast food giant has officially brought back some of their most popular past menu items. More recently, Taco Bell has set the food industry ablaze with their Crispy Chicken nuggets: a mouthwatering take on a popular fast food menu item. In the hopes of further capitalizing on the Crispy Chicken's revived popularity, Taco Bell is also testing out new menu items centered around the decadent protein option, as revealed by noteworthy food journalist markie_devo in a recent Instagram post. Above all else, Taco Bell is currently offering a slew of items with Crispy Chicken as its main ingredient, including a Crispy Chicken Burrito and Crispy Chicken Tacos. The Burrito will come filled with a mixture of Crispy Chicken, lettuce, purple cabbage, pico de gallo and cheddar cheese, with the optional addition of either spicy Ranchero or Avocado Ranch sauce. Meanwhile, Taco Bell's latest Taco creation is filled with Crispy Chicken, lettuce, purple cabbage, pico de gallo, shredded cheddar cheese and a choice of either of Ranchero or Avocado Ranch sauce as well. Taco Bell is also currently testing out a new shareable platter dubbed the Loaded Steak and Jalapeños Topped Fries. Based on Taco Bell's ultra popular Nacho Fries from 2018, the dish comes served with a healthy smothering of molten nacho cheese, grilled steak, a creamy jalapeño sauce and enough pickled jalapeños to leave your tongue tingling for days after the fact. While these experimental new items are available at limited locations within Charlotte, North Carolina, Taco Bell has reportedly planned to further emphasize Crispy Chicken on its menu well into 2026. Popular breakfast fast-food chain quietly leaks new summer menu
Although some might claim they aren't breakfast eaters, few can resist a good fast-food breakfast run before work. Just think about how many people arrive late to the office with a to-go bag in hand. Because of the increased revenue that opening for a few extra hours in the morning can generate, more chains are beginning to introduce breakfast menus. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Fast-food giants like McDonald's (MCD) and Starbucks (SBUX) have used this strategy to their advantage for decades, and other chains like Portillo's are starting to enter the breakfast market by testing it in select locations for a limited time. This week, the second part of the Dunkin' Summer 2025 menu was leaked, and this drop might be one of its largest - not just beverage-wise but also regarding food. It seems like a savvy move, as more chains are adding breakfast items to their menus. Related: Dunkin' launches surprising summer beverages to outdo Starbucks In addition to its beverage offerings, Dunkin' is introducing the new Chipotle Hash Brown Wake-Up Wrap. This wrap is similar to its original Bacon Egg & Cheese Wake-Up Wrap, but is stuffed with hash browns and topped with smoky chipotle aioli. The coffee chain is also adding two pastry items: the new Braided Apple Pie and the Ham & Cheese Croissant Stuffer. The Dunkin' fandom is intense, so to keep its loyal members in mind, the coffee chain is rewarding them with a new in-app exclusive, Bacon Egg & Cheese on a plain bagel with Chipotle Aioli. These new menu additions will drop beginning June 25 and be available at all participating Dunkin' locations nationwide until August 19, as reported by @markie_devo on Instagram. Image source: Corbis/Getty Images In December of last year, Dunkin' introduced its new $5 Meal Deal, which includes a hot or iced coffee and a selection of two Wake-Up Wraps. This value meal was launched to replace its popular $6 Meal Deal and give customers new options for a dollar less. However, it's impossible to please everyone, and the substitution sparked backlash from customers, who thought the $6 Meal Deal was a better offer. Related: McDonald's menu adds experimental new items fans will love For the first part of its summer menu release at the beginning of May, Dunkin' returned the $6 Meal Deal due to popular demand, offering a medium hot or iced coffee, hash browns, and a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich. Now that the second part of its summer menu has been leaked, Dunkin' will return the $5 Meal Deal. Switching this offering every few months could be a strategic move to please more customers. As if all the new additions weren't exciting enough, Dunkin' is getting patriotic and celebrating the 4th of July by launching the new Spangled Donut, which is filled with vanilla buttercream, dipped in blue icing, and topped with 4th of July sprinkles. The coffee chain will also add three 4th of July Takeover Donuts. These patriotic treats will be available from June 25 to July 22. Starbucks brings back popular menu items after major cuts
Summer is only a few weeks away, and it seems like no one is more excited than fast-food chains, since they have already begun dropping their summer menus. Seasonal menus are a popular tradition in the restaurant sector because businesses can test new products and experiment with seasonal ingredients. These menus let chain restaurants keep up with trends without investing too heavily in something that might not work in the long run. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Starbucks has been suffering some of the most troublesome quarters in its history, with continuous sales declines and a slowdown in traffic that have affected its finances. Related: Starbucks makes major change in rewards program loyal fans will hate To put the business back on track, CEO Brian Niccol emphasized the need to return the company to its roots by focusing on its core products, personalizing the coffee shop experience, and keeping prices from increasing. This led him to formulate a multi-year turnaround plan that has changed the company from the inside out in all aspects, especially its menu. Image source:One of the main short-term issues Starbucks (SBUX) needed to address was its menu. It had become too complex, was damaging efficiency, did not prioritize coffee quality, and elevated prices due to the large number of available customizations. To quickly resolve this problem, Starbucks began simplifying its menu, reducing customization options, and eliminating extra charges for milk alternatives. Related: Starbucks faces huge new rival However, this meant that some customers would unfortunately no longer be able to order their favorite menu items, at least for now. In February, many customers' nightmares came true: Starbucks discontinued nine beloved Frappuccinos from both the coffee-based and crème categories, nearly halving the available options. Although many might have thought the shrinking of its menu meant no more seasonal menu launches, they were wrong, because Starbucks released the first part of its summer menu on May 20. The menu included the Summer-Berry Refreshers, which can be ordered with water, coconut milk, or lemonade. It also introduced the new Iced Horchata and the Strawberries & Cream Cake Pop. However, Starbucks was far from done with its seasonal releases, as its late summer menu for 2025 was leaked by @markie_devo on Instagram this week. In celebration of the 4th of July, Starbucks is releasing a new Firework Frappuccino. It has a Summer-Berry Refresher base blended with ice and coconut milk and featuring raspberry pearls, strawberry puree, and a topping of vanilla sweet cream cold foam. This item is speculated to become available at all locations nationwide starting July 1 to 7. These consist of a coffee or crème Frappuccino base topped with flavored cream cold foam. The Strato Frappuccinos, which are expected to drop on July 8, will feature three flavors: Salted Caramel Mocha, Strawberry Matcha, and Brown Sugar. During its menu cuts, Starbucks discontinued the Double Chocolate Brownie at the beginning of May. However, that didn't last long because, due to popular demand, Starbucks is reintroducing it, likely on June 23.
