Man hospitalised after masked men storm home in Merrylands, Sydney
A group of masked men have stormed a home in Sydney's west overnight, assaulting a man and leaving him in hospital. Police were told a group of men wearing face coverings forced entry to a home on Abbott St in Merrylands at about 1.45am on Tuesday. The group assaulted a man in his 40s who was inside the house at the time before fleeing the scene. The man was treated by paramedics for facial injuries before being transported to hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported. Shortly after the home invasion, police were called to Elizabeth St in Granville after reports a car was on fire. The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW, but the car was destroyed. Police have established a crime scene at both locations and are working to determine whether the two incidents were linked. Belfast: Man arrested after sectarian attacks on homes
A 45-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating sectarian-motivated attacks on houses in north Belfast. Masonry was thrown at properties on Annalee Street and Alloa Street by masked suspects on 21 May.A number of families whose homes were targeted in the cross-community housing development later said they planned to leave the man, who was detained on Tuesday, has been charged with criminal damage and is expected to appear in court in Belfast next month.

Twenty-five people hauled before French judge for crypto kidnapping attempt: Court
Twenty-five people will be brought before an investigating judge on Friday for attempting to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy crypto businessman and for criminal conspiracy, the Paris court said. Videos of the brazen kidnapping attempt, which took place in broad daylight on a Parisian street, were filmed and circulated on social media. They showed three masked men wrestling with two people while their getaway van idled nearby. It was the third violent attack targeting crypto players and their families in recent months.
