Huge British popstar lands most streamed song EVER as they beat The Weeknd and Drake – can you guess who it is?

A HUGE British popstar has landed the most streamed song EVER on Apple Music blowing out competition from many heavy-hitters in the US. The music streaming service has released a list of the 500 most streamed songs on the app in celebration of its 10th anniversary. 6 6 Apple Music has famously never disclosed the number of times a song is streamed publicly but now for the first time, they have released a list of who is topping the streaming charts. While the site did not reveal the exact numbers, it was confirmed that a Brit superstar had been lucky enough to bag the top position. Whilst crooner The Weeknd and hip-hop hunk Drake found themselves in second and third position, they were unable to know the British chart-topper from the global number one spot. But can you guess who it is? It is of course, Ed Sheeran. The singer's track, Shape Of You, has been confirmed to be Apple Music's most streamed song ever. The track went to number one across the globe and will come as no surprise to music fanatics that it is the most played track ever on the streaming service. Blinding Lights by The Weeknd fell into second place whilst Drake's track, God's Plan, rounded out the top three. Hip-hop music largely dominated the top ten with Post Malone bagging the fourth and fifth spots. His Swae Lee collaboration, Sunflower, was the fourth most streamed track, whilst his hit, Rockstar, came in fifth. Ed Sheeran teams up with school pals AND 00s rock legend for epic performance Drake made his second appearance at number six with One Dance followed by fellow rapper, Travis Scott, in seventh with his monster hit, Sicko Mode. Brit star Ed was back in the top ten with his ballad, Perfect, at number eight, followed by R&B legend Chris Brown 's duet with Drake, No Guidance, at position nine. Billie Eilish closed out the top ten with her track - Bad Guy. This meant that Billie was the only woman to place in the top 10 of the list. Rapper Drake appears on the top 500 more than any other artist with a total of 27 entries. Apple Music's Top 50 Most Streamed Songs Apple Music has released its 500 most played songs of all time. Ed Sheeran's ‘Shape of You' Leads Apple Music's 500 Most-Streamed Songs of the Decade List

Apple Music has shared its 500 most-streamed songs of the decade, with Ed Sheeran leading the pack thanks to 12-week Billboard Hot 100-topper 'Shape of You.' As announced Saturday (July 5), the British pop star's 2017 smash has been listened to more than any other song on the platform in the past 10 years, beating out second- and third-place entries 'Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd and 'God's Plan' by Drake. 'Shape of You' also broke Apple's record for most first-day streams when it was first released. Other tracks that ranked highly were The Chainsmokers and Halsey's 'Closer' at No. 11, Kendrick Lamar's 'Humble' at No. 15, Ariana Grande's '7 rings' at No. 19 and BTS' 'Dynamite' at No. 34. With 27, Drake has more songs in the top 500 than any other artist, while Taylor Swift comes in second place with 14. Mariah Carey is the only artist to have a holiday song make it into the upper echelon, with 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' coming in at No. 100. The remaining songs on the 500-count list can be found on a massive playlist unveiled by Apple on Saturday. It comes in celebration of the streamer's 10-year anniversary. To keep the festivities going, Apple also shared an interview with Sheeran talking about the creation and impact of 'Shape of You.' The track served as the lead single from the musician's album Divide and won best pop solo performance at the 2018 Grammys. 'No one can take away the song,' Sheeran reflected to Zane Lowe. 'I'll be able to play it forever … I'm just grateful that I have songs like that, that you could be anywhere in the world and someone gives you a guitar and you can make someone happy with it.'
