What is Eminem's role in 'Happy Gilmore 2'? Explaining the rapper's character in 2025 movie
The cast for "Happy Gilmore 2" can only be described as star-studded. It may be a generational thing, but the cast of the first movie flies under the radar for how good it was. We had a young Adam Sandler and Julie Bowen. Christopher McDonald gave us one of the greatest movie villains of all-time in Shooter McGavin. Verne Lundquist made a cameo as an announcer. One of the greatest golfers of all time, Lee Trevino, made several appearances. Bob Barker gave us one of the best cameo appearances ever, getting into a fight with Sandler. The cast also included Ben Stiller, Carl Weathers, and Richard Kiel, among others. Nearly 30 years after the first movie was released, Sandler and company are coming out with a sequel. Some characters, like those of Sandler, McDonald, Bowen, and Stiller will be reprising their roles, but the sequel drew talent from across the entertainment industry and surpasses the cast list of the original. MORE HAPPY GILMORE 2: Is Happy Gilmore's swing legal? | Ranking 14 best quotes from 'Happy Gilmore' Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, and wrestlers MJF and Becky Lynch all have roles in the movie. Fans may be most excited, though, to see Eminem in the filmi. Yes, you read that right — acclaimed rapper Eminem has a role in the sequel. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Here's more of the character that Eminem will play in "Happy Gilmore 2." What is Eminem's role in 'Happy Gilmore 2?' In the original 'Happy Gilmore," Joe Flaherty played a character who is simply known as "jeering fan." If it doesn't ring a bell, Flaherty played the character that Shooter McGavin charged with getting in Gilmore's head. He would taunt him before every shot and ended his insults with "ya jackass." This escalated until he ran down Gilmore with his car during the final round, but the golfer pulled through the injury and won the tournament. Eminem, who is tough to recognize thanks to a bucket hat and a beard, is a fellow golfer competing against Gilmore. The two have a heated exchange, and at the end, Eminem calls Gilmore a jackass. It happened quickly, and with the make-up and costume, you might have trouble knowing it was Eminem, but his scene made it into the trailer at the 1:46 mark. MORE HAPPY GILMORE 2: How to buy Happy Gilmore's hockey stick putter When does Eminem appear in 'Happy Gilmore 2?' The plot of "Happy Gilmore 2" is similar to the first: Gilmore turns to golf when he needs to make a substantial amount of money. In the first film, he wanted to buy his grandmother's house back from the bank. In the sequel, he wants to be able to send his daughter to a prestigious ballet school. Similar to real life, in the movie, it had been 29 years since Gilmore had competed in the tournament he won in the first movie. He encounters Eminem whenever he returns to the golf course. Sandler talked about what it was like working with the rapper in a radio interview with The Dan Patrick Show, saying, "Eminem was cool, he came by, he was great. I've known Eminem for a long time and he's a great guy. He came in and was funny as heck. I think we just hung out all day with Eminem and he just shot and shot and it was insane. There's a million things we can use and a million things that we're glad we have him on tape."Read More: Eminem Roasts Adam Sandler in 'Happy Gilmore 2' Trailer Eminem scene in 'Happy Gilmore 2' This section will be updated when Eminem's full scene becomes available.

Where to stream the original ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' and similar slashers
Love a masked stalker and a guilty secret? Here's what to watch next. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's summer slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer is a sequel to the 1997 movie of the same name. And while the horror movie had fans rushing to the theater to see who is beneath the Fisherman's slicker this time around, it's also making many nostalgic for the original Jennifer Love Hewitt vehicle — or curious to check it out for the first time. The good news is that the 1997 version is streaming on MGM+ right now. But while the original IKWYDLS may be an obvious next watch if you're a fan of the new movie, the spirit of this slasher exists across plenty of other movies and shows too — all of which are streaming right now. Here are some to check out next time you're in a Last Summer sort of mood. If you want to watch the TV version: (2021) A brand new mystery unfolds for the college-age teens in Prime Video's I Know What You Did Last Summer, an original series inspired, as the slasher films before it was, by Lois Duncan's 1973 novel of the same name. Don't expect the Fisherman, though — this series is a wild, violent ride with a mythology all its own, and it borrows just as much from shows like Pretty Little Liars as it does classic slashers. Streaming on: Prime Video If you want to watch that other '90s slasher flick: (1996) Before he wrote I Know What You Did Last Summer, screenwriter Kevin Williamson found massive success in 1996 with Scream, which is also about a group of teens hunted by a masked killer. The film franchise is still ongoing, with the seventh movie currently in production — but while they're all worth a watch, it's hard to beat the twist ending of the original … that is, if you like scary movies. Streaming on: HBO Max If you want to revisit the '90s from a modern lens: (2021) This film, which is part of a trilogy, is the first installment of Netflix's reimagining of R.L. Stine's Fear Street book series. The slasher takes place in Shadyside, a town with a dark past and a huge body count. When the mysterious lore of the town slams into present day, teenager Sam (Kiana Madeira) must stop the town's monsters from doing what they do best: murdering everyone in sight. Expect crazy kills, quippy teens and, of course, lots of '90s iconography. Streaming on: Netflix If you want a touch of with your slasher: (2017) College student Tree (Jessica Rothe) keeps dying … and coming back to life … and dying again. Can she figure out who is behind the baby-faced mask that is out for her blood before she doesn't wake up for good? Available for rent or purchase: Prime Video If you want more bad decisions: (2009) A prank goes horribly awry in this remake of The House on Sorority Row (1982) and leads to the death of a college student (who just so happens to be played by Audrina Patridge of The Hills!). Just like in I Know What You Did Last Summer, that secret doesn't stay buried, and soon those involved in the cover-up are hunted by a masked killer. Streaming on: Tubi If you want another masked killer … and a romantic twist: (2025) What would a mash-up of a rom-com and a slasher movie look like? Enter Heart Eyes, in which two coworkers (played by Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt) catch feelings for one another when they become a target of a killer hunting down couples. Streaming on: Netflix If you're skipping summer and going right into the holidays: (2023) After a Black Friday stampede leads to the death of several locals, a deranged killer in a Pilgrim costume comes forward to take his revenge on a group of teens, including TikTok-turned-pop star Addison Rae. Fun fact: the concept of the film was first created as a fake movie trailer for the 2007 Quentin Tarantino-Robert Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse. Streaming on: Netflix Solve the daily Crossword

Ralph Ineson Actually Got in the Galactus Suit for ‘Fantastic Four'
Friday's Fantastic Four: First Steps reintroduces moviegoers to Galactus, one of the heroes' biggest (literally) enemies. While comics fans love that he's actually a giant man this time around and not a cloud, the bigger selling point is that Ralph Ineson, who lent his deep voice and whole body to portray the comics character. Talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Ineson discussed the process of bringing Galactus to giant-sized life. He'd been offered the role by director Matt Shakman, who Ineson said 'talked about [this role] as if they were going to build a suit for me to play the character practically.' Most of his physical work was 'practical and in costume,' something he considered rare, given the character is a giant who travels the cosmos eating whole planets. It was also not easy, from the sound of things. Ineson admitted wearing the Galactus rig could be taxing thanks to the heat, the costume's weight, and the fact that he's 55. What helped lighten the load was the team that made sure he was 'well looked after' between takes, and even gave him the occasional massage every now and then. 'I'd do a couple of takes and sit down whilst they were resetting the camera, and I'd have one person on each gauntlet and another person on the helmet,' he explained. 'Somebody would then put an air conditioning unit up the back of my armor, and people with fans were in front of me. We'd all watch for the assistant director to give the 30-second countdown before everybody had to put everything back on me.' Unlike most Marvel villains, Galactus is less of an active villain and more of a cosmic force of nature. He works in Fantastic Four: First Steps as he does in the comics, with Ineson stressing the character isn't evil so much as he is fulfilling a specific purpose in the universe, albeit a devastating one. 'He has to consume planets to stay alive, and that's maintained a balance in the universe for 14 billion years. Eating a planet is not a malevolent act…and it's something that's essential to him in order to satiate his hunger. […] If you are living on a planet that he's about to devour, that makes him more than a little inconvenient, but I don't think that necessarily makes him evil.' The Fantastic Four may already be returning for another sequel, but Galactus' fate is currently up in the stars. Even so, Ineson told THR he's more than game to hunger for more worlds if Marvel and Kevin Feige allow it. Want more io9 news? Wicked: For Good debuts dazzling new Emerald City poster with leading star cast - and fans can't contain their excitement
Wicked: For Good has released a brand-new poster ahead of the second installment of the movie - and fans can't contain their excitement. The first movie became a global sensation, grossing more than $750 million (roughly £552M) worldwide, according to Billboard. And on Wednesday, the film's official Instagram page unveiled a stunning new promotional image that offers a fresh glimpse into the highly anticipated sequel, which hits cinemas on November 21. The poster highlights the returning star-studded cast. Ariana Grande is seen once again as Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo returns as Elphaba. Jonathan Bailey is back as Fiyero, with Jeff Goldblum returning as the Wizard and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible. Unlike the visuals from the first installment, this lineup teases dramatic character evolutions and hints at new twists waiting to be revealed. In the image, the five characters are positioned side by side, with three of them donning bold, updated costumes that give subtle nods to the original Broadway production. 'Emerald City awaits,' the offical page penned alongside the post. Fans went wild in the comments, unable to contain their excitement. They penned: 'I'm ready… but I'm also not ready! I don't want this to be the end... Movie of the year already... This is cool looking... 'OMG MOVIE OF THE YEAR IS COMING IN 4 MONTHS... Now THIS is a movie poster... We are so ready.' Last month the the first trailer for Wicked's hotly-anticipated sequel was dropped. The sequel sees the return of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North - with part two of the musical movie following their friendship after Elphaba was banished from Oz Fans went wild in the comments, unable to contain their excitement. Elphaba is living in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth about The Wizard. Glinda, meanwhile, has become the symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity as she prepares to tie the knot with Prince Fiyero. She is also working under the instruction of Madame Morrible to convince the citizens of Oz that they have nothing to fear when it comes to The Wizard. Yet behind the scenes, Glinda is attempting to reconcile Elphaba and The Wizard, which only results in her being drawn further apart from her friend. As a result Boq (Ethan Slater) and Fiyero are set to be changed forever, while the safety of Elphaba's sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode) comes into question. Just as tensions in Oz reach an all time high, a girl from Kansas comes crashing into all their lives. Fans went wild at the first glimpse of Dorothy - who was seen walking along the yellow brick road with the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow. Her face was obscured as she was shown from the back, with fans taking to X/Twitter to try and figure out her identity. They penned: 'the way we still don't know who plays as dorothy in wicked new trailer'; In wicked for good what if we don't see Dorothy's face the whole movie.?' 'So She brings Dorothy to Oz?'; 'i just watched wicked last sunday and it's so gooood oh i can't wait for this. show me dorothy pls!!'; 'Who do you think could be playing Dorothy in Wicked For Good?'; 'The crazy part about the Wicked: For Good trailer is the fact that there's still so much to come. We didn't see Nessarose or Boq. They recently filmed scenes at Shiz for this. We got a little of Dorothy's crew. This is just a glimpse. I can't wait to see it ALL unfold'; Several names have been put forward while fans try to guess who is Dorothy. The frontrunner so far is Alisha Weir, 15, who is best known for playing Matilda in the Netflix adaptation of Matilda the Musical and the titular character in the horror flick Abigail. Others have suggested that Addison Rae or Taylor Swift could be slipping into the iconic ruby red slippers. Last year's global cinematic cultural sensation, which became the most successful Broadway film adaptation of all time, now reaches its epic, electrifying, emotional conclusion in Wicked: For Good. Wicked: For Good is being directed again by award-winning Jon M. Chu, who has confirmed that there will be new, original songs in the sequel, along with fan favourites For Good and No Good Deed.
