Singer James Blunt looks super-fit at 51 while on holiday in St Tropez

James Blunt is living his best life on vacation in St Tropez while looking fitter than ever. The British singer stripped down to a pair of bright orange board shorts while touring the coastal town in the French Riviera on a yacht with his wife, Sofia Wellesley. The shirtless 51-year-old and his 41-year-old wife, who was wearing a chic black swimsuit, looked relaxed on-board as they chilled out with friends and took selfies. The pair had cause for celebration as last month Blunt celebrated 20 years since the release of his char-topping single You're Beautiful from his debut album Back to Bedlam. The song scored Blunt nominations for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 2005 Grammys as well as Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Bedlam. The song has also earned him a significant amount of money. In march, The Sun reported that Blunt raked in more than £5,000 ($10,000) a day in the 12 months up to March 31, 2024. And documents filed at Companies House in the UK for his pop firm James Blunt Limited reported a profit of £1.9 million ($3.9 million) over the year. His earnings for that one song have been so momentous that it bought Blunt a hilltop house in Ibiza in 2006. 'Twenty years ago today, I put out the song that bought me this house,' he said in an Instagram video shared on May 30. 'I mean, who would've thought a song about being high as a kite on drugs, stalking someone else's girlfriend would resonate quite so much?' 'Thank you. You guys are beautiful,' he added. The house cost the singer £1.7 million ($3.5 million) and boasts six bedrooms, a library, sun terrace and an outdoor swimming pool and pool house all surrounded by pine forest. In his Instagram video, Blunt – who lives at the property with Wellesley and their two young sons – showed off the house's grand wooden beams on the ceiling and the terracotta tiles that led to a pair of French doors that opened into the living room. Later this year, Blunt will visit Australia and New Zealand for his Back to Bedlam 20th anniversary tour. The album, which also featured the hits Goodbye My Lover, High and Wisemen, reached number one the ARIA album charts and earning the eighth spot on the ARIA Top 100 Albums of the 2000s. 'New Zealand and Australia… I'm coming to get you! Following last year's incredible tour of Oz, I knew I had to bring my Back To Bedlam 20th Anniversary Tour to you guys Down Under, and this time we're sneaking in New Zealand, and I can't wait to see all of you! I promise to deliver an unforgettable show!' he shared in a statement earlier this year. The tour kicks of in Brisbane on October 23 before hitting Sydney on October 25, Melbourne on October 26, Adelaide on October 28 and Perth on October 30.

While she continues to work on new music — including the recent release of her highly-anticipated single 'Type Dangerous,' which kicks off a new era — she's also been refocusing in recent years on celebrating her most popular works, the releases that helped make her the global superstar she remains today. As the next chapter of her career begins, she's also simultaneously revisiting one of her biggest. The Emancipation of Mimi debuts on one ranking in the United Kingdom this week. The set opens at No. 68 on the Official Album Downloads chart, reaching that tally for the very first time. As it arrives, It marks the Grammy winner's sixteenth career placement on the list of the most downloaded albums in the country. Carey has been steadily collecting new entries on the Official Album Downloads chart, but not with entirely new releases. 2025 is now the fourth year in a row that the singer has debuted a title on this ranking, despite not having released a new full-length in more than half a decade. Instead, anniversary editions of her past works have pushed older projects onto the tally — many of which never had the chance to land there when they were new, since the chart itself didn't exist at the time. This trend began in 2022, when Butterfly launched at No. 45 following its twenty-fifth anniversary celebration. The next year, Music Box appeared in the same position for one week, marking its thirtieth birthday. In June 2024, Rainbow earned a one-week star at No. 79 as it turned 25. The Emancipation of Mimi was originally released in April 2005, meaning it recently turned 20. Several versions of the album were reissued, including vinyl and box sets that featured remixes and other bonus content, which became must-haves for superfans in a variety of formats, including downloads. The album helped Carey bounce back from one of her first periods of commercial downturn, thanks to massive singles like 'We Belong Together,' 'It's Like That,' and 'Shake It Off.' In the years since its release, The Emancipation of Mimi has come to be recognized as both an artistic triumph and a hugely influential pop project.

James Blunt Reveals What His Hit 'You're Beautiful' Is 'Really' About as Song Turns 20

James Blunt is celebrating the 20th anniversary of "You're Beautiful" The singer is looking back on the song about an ex-girlfriend and how it changed the trajectory of his career "You're Beautiful" hit number one across 10 countries in an explosive release James Blunt is celebrating 20 years of "You're Beautiful." Marking the milestone on X, Blunt expressed his gratitude at the staying power of the hit song, which was released on May 30, 2005. He wrote, "20 years ago today, I released a song that bought me this house. Whoever thought a song about being high as a kite on drugs, stalking someone else's girlfriend would resonate quite so much? Thank you. You guys are beautiful." "You're Beautiful" was the third single released from Blunt's album, Back to Bedlam, first released in October 2004. It ended up hitting number one across 10 countries in an explosive release that made it one of the songs of the year. Blunt has never commented on who, in particular, the song is about, though there were rumors after the song's release that it was about Dixie Chassay. At the time, Chassay was best known as part of the casting team for Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, learning under the tutelage of casting director Jina Jay. It was mentioned in a 2006 profile of Chassay that the song is about her, though she has never commented on it directly. The singer did give some insight into how the song came to be in a 2020 essay for The Guardian. "One day I was on the underground in London and saw an ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend. Our eyes met, but we just walked past each other, and I went home and wrote the words to 'You're Beautiful' in two minutes," he wrote. "I went to see my songwriter friend Sacha Skarbek in Los Angeles, and, with Amanda Ghost as a co-writer, we finished the song. It's always been portrayed as romantic, but it's actually a bit creepy. It's about a guy (me) who's high and stalking someone else's girlfriend on the subway. But everyone has those moments where you wonder: 'What if I'd said something?' " Blunt recalls playing the song at SXSW, the beginning of a huge shift that came when Linda Perry expressed interest in signing him. "The label asked me to remove the words 'f— high' from 'You're Beautiful,'" he recalls."I tried 'particularly high,' 'especially high!' Eventually I sang 'flying high' on the radio edit but wanted the released version left as it was. I told them, 'I was f— high!' " Blunt added, "The song has a false start. I sing 'my life is brilliant' twice, which is my little joke, but I think in my elated state, from whatever concoction I might have taken at the time, life did seem really brilliant. The tube certainly looked very colorful." Looking back with the knowledge that it propelled his career as a singer and songwriter, Blunt admitted, "I had no idea the song would be such a big hit, and it scared me at first." "I thought I'd just be a musician putting out music. The song [released in 2004] became so ubiquitous that it started to irritate people, but I'm still proud of it and I love my job. I sang it at Elton John and David Furnish's civil ceremony and I'm about to start my sixth world tour. Without 'You're Beautiful,' it'd be a tour of north London." James then jokingly added: 'But people play it at their weddings, which is nice.' Upon its release, You're Beautiful made James a household name around the world and the single reached number one in the UK, Canada, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, and Italy. Several years ago, James appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and claimed that the song was about an ex-girlfriend. He told Oprah: 'It's kind of miserable. 'It was about seeing my ex-girlfriend on the Underground in London with her new man, who I didn't know existed. 'She and I caught eyes and lived a lifetime in that moment, but didn't do anything about it and haven't seen each other since.'
