Fans Choose Justin Bieber's ‘Swag' as This Week's Favorite New Music
Swag, the new album from Justin Bieber, tops this week's fan-voted music poll. Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (July 11) on Billboard, choosing Bieber's 21-track surprise summer drop as their favorite new music release of the past week. Swag brought in 40% of the vote. Swag is the follow-up to Bieber's last full-length release, his 2021 No. 1 album Justice, which rose to the top of the Billboard 200 chart for two weeks. The new set from Bieber arrived with little warning, a day after teaser billboards first popped up in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Reykjavík — one of which featured an image of the singer and his family, wife Hailey and son Jack, and others that previewed the album title and its songs. Among the enthusiasts of Bieber's latest is his former manager, Scooter Braun, whose Instagram Story-shared opinion is that the body of work is 'the most authentically Justin Bieber album to date. The new releases trailing behind Swag on this week's poll include BLACKPINK's 'Jump,' with 37% of the vote — followed by TWICE's THIS IS FOR, with 16% of the vote, and Tyla's 'Is It,' nearing 2% of the vote. Fans Choose KATSEYE's ‘Beautiful Chaos' as This Week's Favorite New Music
Beautiful Chaos, the new EP from KATSEYE, tops this week's fan-voted music poll. Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (June 27) on Billboard, choosing the global girl group's five-song collection as their favorite new music release of the past week. KATSEYE's release brought in an overwhelming 50% of the vote. It's a two-week winning streak for KATSEYE — Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia and Yoonchae — on Billboard's weekly poll. New last week was the six-piece act's single 'Gabriela,' which arrived just before the group's full EP and ruled listeners' new music ranking upon release: 43% of voters made it their top pick, according to results published on June 22. Beautiful Chaos was led by hyperpop single 'Gnarly,' the group's breakthrough that had them charting on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. The track list is rounded out by 'Gabriela' (which was accompanied by a telenovela-inspired music video starring Jessica Alba), plus new songs 'Gamesboy,' 'Mean Girls' and 'M.I.A.' Among the new releases trailing behind Beautiful Chaos on this week's poll are Alex Warren and ROSÉ's collab 'On My Mind,' with 25% of the vote; Lorde's Virgin album, with 10% of the vote, and aespa's 'Dirty Work,' with close to 3% of the vote.
