6 Bird-Inspired Baby Names Trending With Parents in 2025
If you've noticed more little Robins fluttering around the playground lately, you're not imagining things. Bird-inspired names are soaring this year. According to the BabyCenter's latest data, parents are increasingly turning to the skies for baby name inspo and running with the nature-infused naming trend that's taking off in a major way. The top 10 baby names for both girls and boys are holding fairly steady from last year. For girls, Olivia, Amelia, and Sophia still reign supreme, while Noah, Liam, and Oliver lead the pack for boys. One notable shift, though? Aurora (yes, like the princess) has slid into the top 10 names for girls, while Luna, after a solid four-year run, has fallen out of the top 10 names. As for the boys, James has made a comeback and bumped Leo just outside of the top 10. Beyond the classics, BabyCenter's trend specialist Rebekah Wahlberg says bird names are capturing parents' imaginations like never before. For example, the name Robin has officially entered the top 1,000 for girls and boys. Even celebrities like Cameron Diaz are picking up on the trend—she named her son born in 2024 Cardinal. Other feathery favorites on the rise for girls include Raven, Dove, and Mavis (meaning "songbird"). For boys, bird-related names like Jay and Callum (of Columba, Latin for "dove") is gaining traction and has moved up the top 200 baby boy names. Alongside bird-inspired names, research has also shown that parents are gravitating toward names that scream "luxury." Think names like Bentley, Tiffany, Treasure, Cash, Emerald, and even Lux. It doesn't stop there, though. The study found that parents are also reviving 1990s pop culture with popular name picks like Britney, Sabrina, and Shania. Whether drawn to the gentleness of a dove or the edginess of a raven, it's clear that in 2025, baby names with wings are having their moment.
