It'll be hard to guarantee you get tickets to the 2026 World Cup — unless you pay up
That's when FIFA will put the first batch of tickets up for sale to the public. If you're curious about how much those tickets will cost, well, that's something FIFA is not ready to announce. Details on the ticket-buying process are a little less scant. Advertisement As the September date approaches, FIFA says it will announce step-by-step details on how to buy tickets. As vague as that sounds, FIFA is creating a distinct vibe that demand will exceed supply. Then, if you're selected, FIFA says, 'you will be assigned a specific time slot to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.' More information about another ticket tranche will be released as we approach that day in December when FIFA conducts the draw that will determine which non-North American teams will play in which of the 16 host cities. When and where is the December draw? Advertisement FIFA hasn't announced that yet. One known detail: There will be no tickets sold at any World Cup stadium ticket office. All ticket sales will be handled online. As for the fortunate few with that plush bank account, your options are many and swanky. FIFA is offering three hospitality packages — single-match tickets, series tickets for every game played at one stadium, and a 'Follow My Team' package for a non-North American team's three group stage games and first elimination game in the Round of 32. At Foxborough's Boston Stadium (you know it as Gillette Stadium, but that's not how it will identify during the World Cup), ticket prices for one of its five group stage games from June 13-26 or its Round of 32 game on June 29 start at $1,900 and top out at $3,900, depending on the game and what type of lounge level you want to experience. Related : In descending order of price, you'll have four hospitality choices: Pitchside Lounge (with seating in sections 108-111), VIP (club level 28-35), Trophy Lounge (club level 6-13), and the Champions Club (sections 130-133). A fifth, and presumably cheapest single-game hospitality package option, in the FIFA Pavilion outside the stadium, is not yet available. That level's seating area during the match will be in sections 101-103, 116, and 117. The five options offer onsite parking only if it's available. Amenities in the Pitchside Lounge include premium champagne upon arrival, dedicated guest relations, special guest appearances, dedicated guest relations, and a 'tailored dining experience highlighting regional flavors and culinary traditions,' as well as sideline seating. Related : Do you wish to attend all seven Boston Stadium games, including the quarterfinal on July 9? Advertisement FIFA will grant your wish, costing you anywhere between the standard Champions Club rate of $14,600 up to the 'Pitchside Lounge Standard +' rate of $26,700. The 'Follow My Team' package of up to four matches offers an unpredictable range of prices depending on the country. As of Friday afternoon, following a top-10 FIFA-ranked team from Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium or Croatia starts with a $6,750 package, the same price for a non-powerhouse team such as North Macedonia and Burkina Faso. No. 3-ranked France packages start at $7,400, No. 59-ranked Saudi Arabia at $7,500, with No. 2 Spain at $10,370. No prices yet for Argentina (1), England (4), Brazil (5), and Colombia (14). Oh, there is also another tier of three 'special offerings' at the bottom of the FIFA hospitality package page. Patrons can bundle 2-8 matches across different venues, can watch in private suites, and can partake in the 'platinum access program,' which is FIFA's 'only turnkey hospitality experience.' That means, in part, 'a high-touch, all-encompassing package that delivers the ultimate fan experience and unlocks single-match options, premium tickets, hospitality, accommodations, transportation, priority entry privileges, preferred parking, exclusive entertainment and experiences, custom gifts, and more.' Platinum access prices are not posted online — register your interest and a FIFA/On Location representative will be with you shortly. Michael Silverman can be reached at

McDonald's is going all in on this country with 50 new stores
In the 85 years that passed since Richard and Maurice McDonald opened the first McDonald's (MCD) restaurant out of San Bernardino, Calif., in 1940, what started out as a small drive-thru stop evolved into a global empire and the world's most iconic burger restaurant. As of 2024, the chain had over 41,000 locations in more than 119 countries. Rare nations without a McDonald's include Iceland, Bermuda, Bolivia, Iran, Cambodia, and, after the chain pulled out of the country over its invasion of Ukraine, Russia. While the United States and Canada are the countries with the largest numbers of McDonald's with a respective 13,548 and 1,489 locations, the non-North American nation to come closest is Australia. As of May 2025, the country had 1,053 locations. Don't miss the move: SIGN UP for TheStreet'sFREE Daily news In an interview with local news outlets, McDonald's Australia CEO Joe Chiczewski said the chain plans to open between 30 and 50 new locations across the country by the end of 2026. "We're going to open more restaurants over the next 12 months," Chiczewski told adding that the goal is to find "restaurant gaps" in different parts of the country. "That is a key priority for our growth strategy. Not just the next 12 months, but over the next few years." Related: McDonald's brings back unexpected breakfast items after 5 years Chiczewski added that the chain is setting its sights on Perth in the western part of the country and framed it as "continuing to invest in the Aussie community." At the start of July, McDonald's Australia announced that it will lock in the prices of certain meal deals and items on its Loose Change Menu at a respective $7 ($4.55 USD) and $4 ($2.60 USD), as many customers expressed concerns with the rising cost of living. In announcing the upcoming openings, Chiczewski also said the higher demand is fueled by customers choosing to forgo traditional restaurants due to expense. "My commitment to Australian customers is clear: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, you can count on us for great value at Macca's," he said further. "As customers rise from the station below, they're welcomed by a reflective double-canopy entrance - a contemporary homage to McDonald's original roofline and a nod to Ray Kroc's classic design," the chain said in announcing the new concept. "Now framed by glowing feature walls in McDonald's signature yellow, aimed at creating an unmissable beacon - just like the earliest restaurants once were." How TN can trump tariffs
Is the glass half full or half empty? The Trump administration's tariff regime has created upheavals in world trade. Tamil Nadu, however, sees an opportunity both for its MSME sector as well as the big-ticket MNC investors. For the MSME sector — backbone of the state's export performance in competing with Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia — it's a chance to find newer markets and products. For the MNC manufacturing investors, it's a chance to boost local sourcing thus growing the MSME vendor base. 'The ongoing tariff shifts and global realignments in trade may have opened a window of opportunity for Tamil Nadu's MSMEs in certain sectors,' says industries minister T R B Rajaa. 'While Vietnam and Thailand are often cited as alternatives, Tamil Nadu has a distinct edge. We have a highly skilled talent pool and a mature manufacturing ecosystem across multiple sectors,' he adds. There's reason for this optimism. According to the latest NIRYAT data, Tamil Nadu's overall exports hit $52 billion by FY24-25, up 19.5% from $43.5 billion in FY23-24. Of this, $18 billion is engineering goods including automotive components, $14.6 billion is electronics and $5.4 billion is ready-made garments. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like CFD: Invertir $100 con IA podría devolverte un segundo salario Digital Group Prueba ahora Undo MSMEs are the backbone of exports in India – the number of exporting units increased from 52,849 in FY20-21 to 1,73,350 in FY24-25. And TN is the third biggest exporting state after Gujarat and Maharashtra. TN-based major manufacturers have been expanding to non-North American markets. Ashok Leyland, which saw a 52% jump in export volumes in Q4, has said it is targeting GCC (Gulf cooperation council) and African markets in a big way. TVS Motor, which saw a 22% jump in FY25 exports, is shipping to markets in South and Southeast Asia, Latin America and Africa. TN's export strategy ties in with its push to attract new investments. 'We are pitching to companies around the world at a hectic pace to bring in large-scale investments and global supply chains,' says Rajaa. 'MSMEs are at the core of this growth story, and we encourage them to leverage emerging opportunities,' he adds. 'Tamil Nadu has a wide range of MSMEs and our focus is to make the quality of products export worthy,' says Atul Anand MSME secretary. 'The state's large number of clusters helps with making these companies export worthy.' The good news is that TN's MNC investors are also looking at the tariff scenario as a window to increase local footprint. 'While our shipments and exports to the US are continuing without disruption, we are looking at potential uncertainty in other regions where we operate, including Southeast Asia, home to our largest factories, and Taiwan,' says Niranjan Nayak, MD, Delta Electronics India. Thailand is Delta's largest base of operations in addition to Taiwan and China. 'Future attractiveness might be lower [in these regions] or there could be a degree of uncertainty and this gives us an opportunity to increase our manufacturing capability here in India because, based on the current tariffs, India is not in a significantly negative position,' he says. The state's MSMEs can look forward to domestic opportunities too. For, tariffs will affect the supply chains of all businesses, and big manufacturing will boost local sourcing to survive. That means new business for MSME vendors. 'The tariffs will have a direct or indirect impact on everyone. Aligned with the 'Make in India' initiative, we are advancing our localization efforts right down to the smallest components so we don't get impacted by global scenarios,' says Syed Sajjadh Ali, MD, electrical sector, India, Eaton. Lower dependence on the global supply chain means 'an upper hand in terms of cost reduction' and 'the vendor base is happy to get into new business as volumes ramp up'. 'We are seeing growing interest from international investors who are looking to diversify their sourcing beyond China,' says Rajaa. Now, that has expanded to cover Southeast Asia. For Tamil Nadu, it can only spell opportunity. Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . AI Masterclass for Students.
