NEET UG 2025: List of medical colleges in Telangana for MBBS admission

NEET UG 2025: The Directorate of Medical Education, Telangana, hosts the admissions and counselling process for the state medical colleges in Telangana. Some of the government medical colleges in Telangana are: Gandhi Medical College, Osmania Medical College, Kakatiya Medical College, Government Medical College, Nizamabad, Government Medical College, Suryapet, among others. On the other hand, private medical colleges include Bhaskar Medical College, Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences, MNR Medical College & Hospital, Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences, Malla Reddy Institute of Medical Sciences, and Mamata Medical College. As of 2021, there are 35 medical colleges and hospitals (12 government + 23 private) in Telangana with an intake capacity of 5240 MBBS seats and 2237 PG Seats. The data was tabled in the Lok Sabha by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on December 3, 2021. The government has also set up an AIIMS in Bibinagar. These are some of the medical colleges in the state that have secured a place in the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024. In the rankings 2024, only the government college, Osmania Medical College, was ranked and secured 48. Before applying to State College, students need to know the domicile rules of the medical colleges. Here are the rules that you must know before applying: –An applicant should have studied in a school/college in the local area for 4 consecutive years preceding the qualifying examination. –He or she must have resided in the local area for 4 consecutive years preceding the qualifying examination. –If someone isn't considered a local candidate, they can still be considered local if they've studied in the state for 7 consecutive years before applying for NEET UG admission. In this case, they'll be linked to the area where they studied the most or where they spent equal time studying. Alternatively, if they haven't studied in the state but have lived in a local area for 7 consecutive years, they'll be considered local to that area. 1. Resided in the state for 10 years (excluding study periods outside). 2. Parent(s) resided in the state for 10 years (excluding employment periods outside). 3. Parent(s) or spouse employed in the state or central government, public sector, or educational institutions. 1. Open to candidates nationwide with relevant subjects and qualifying marks. 2. For non-Telangana state candidates: – A'Certificate of Equivalence' from the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana, is a must and should be attached to the application. 3. For international candidates: – A 'Certificate of Equivalence' from the Association of Indian Universities and the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana is needed.
