Kelly Osbourne took to social media to share a message hours before the intimate funeral of her dad, the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne Kelly Osbourne has shared a touching speech showcasing why her dad, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, was so important. The Black Sabbath frontman died last week aged 76, leaving the world of music in mourning. ‌ Now, a day after his final journey through his beloved Birmingham he has been laid to rest. And daughter Kelly, 40, took to social media hours before the intimate funeral to share a sweet message saying how the Prince of Darkness was helping to unite the world. ‌ Kelly shared a reel to her Instagram Stories that was initially posted by a fan. It comes after thousands lined the streets on Wednesday and chanted for the star in support of his heartbroken family. ‌ The poster could be heard saying in the clip, which was posted shortly after the star's death: "Do you know why Ozzy was so important? Look at your feed right now. "Look at the fact that for the last 24 hours there's been no politics, it's been no left or right. It's been no them versus us, it's been all of us collectively celebrating the life of a man that meant so much to us and the politics are null and void right now." ‌ The message continued: "This is one of the most tragic things for a lot of us to experience but the one good take away from it is that it has united all of us under the banner of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, and heavy metal and what Ozzy meant to all of us. Take a moment to think about that." The post comes with Kelly still staying silent following her dad's death, and instead resharing several messages that mean something to her. ‌ At the Birmingham procession she also gave a subtle nod to her dad with her choice of outfit accessories. With her blonde hair tied back, Kelly was seen wearing circular sunglasses that Ozzy had become synonymous with in recent years. His wife of over 40 years, Sharon Osbourne, was also in tears at the emotional farewell as the procession headed down Birmingham's Broad Street. Ozzy was followed by his family - including wife Sharon - in the special procession that was accompanied by a live brass band, Bostin' Brass. While the funeral was kept strictly for friends and family only, cars were seen emerging from the property where Ozzy's funeral took place after the ceremony was over. The funeral was held at the family's 250 acre estate, with Ozzy being buried next to the ground's ornamental lake, according to his wishes.

Ozzy Osbourne's family honoured him with subtle tributes

Ozzy Osbourne's family honoured the late star with subtle tributes during his funeral procession. The late music legend made his final trip through his home city of Birmingham on Wednesday (30.07.25) as fans bid farewell to the Black Sabbath frontman - who died on July 22, at the age of 76, just days after playing his final show at Aston Villa's stadium Villa Park on July 5 - and as his distraught wife Sharon and children Kelly, Aimee and Jack viewed flowers left in honour of the rocker, their individual touches to honour Ozzy could be seen. Sharon Osbourne leant over to place a pink rose down and what appeared to be Ozzy's wedding ring could be seen dangling from a long chain around her neck. Meanwhile, Kelly Osbourne honoured Ozzy's distinct sense of style with a pair of round blue-tinted glasses and her brother, Jack Osbourne, wore a black Chrome Hearts tie with a silver cross embellishment in a nod to his dad's fondness for cross jewellery. And Aimee Osbourne, who typically stays out of the spotlight, referenced Ozzy's notorious bat-biting incident from 1982 by wearing a brooch in the shape of the winged mammal. A purple floral cross adorned the top of the funeral car, which started its journey at the football ground, and red roses were thrown onto the vehicle. The Bostin' Brass band stood to the front of the car playing Black Sabbath and Ozzy classics. Huge crowds lined the streets and led chants of 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, Oi, Oi, Oi!'. Fans also broke into song as they waited for the hearse to arrive. Moments before the procession began just after 1pm BST, Birmingham's Mayor Zafar Iqbal was seen reading the many tributes laid out amongst the flowers and black heart balloons at Black Sabbath Bridge on Broad Street. He also spoke with some of the fans who lined the streets to say goodbye to the Prince of Darkness. Sharon was struggling to compose herself, shaking as she held onto her daughter Kelly's hand as she poured her heart out. Upon hearing the crowd cheer, she threw up peace signs. The trip also included a stop at Ozzy's childhood home, Lodge Road, Aston, at around 12.45pm. The family, including Ozzy's son Louis from his previous marriage, then attended a private funeral service for the rocker. Ozzy's passing was confirmed in a family statement, which read: It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

Aimee Osbourne's life from estranged siblings to final selfless act for dad Ozzy

Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne will be laid to rest today in Buckinghamshire at a private service attended by his family, including his rarely-seen daughter Aimee Unlike her famous parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and her siblings Kelly and Jack, Aimee Osbourne has consistently kept a low profile, shunning the spotlight. ‌ So too have Ozzy's children, Jessica and Louis, from his first marriage with Thelma Riley. Their father and Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy, died on July 22 just days after performing his final farewell concert. It comes as Sharon Osbourne broke down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes. ‌ Sharon was supported by her children Kelly, Jack and Aimee as the family took in outpouring of love for the heavy metal star at his funeral procession attended by thousands of devoted fans. ‌ Aimee, 41, who is a singer releasing music under the name ARO, was born in 1983 in London and lived with her famous family in California where they filmed their iconic show, The Osbournes, which Aimee opted not to be a part of. At age 16, Aimee chose to move out of the family home when her loved ones began filming for the reality series. "Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life," she told The Independent in 2015. ‌ She added: "So why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable." In 2020, mum Sharon explained that she understood Aimee's decision to not appear on the show. Speaking on The Talk, she said: "We had about 30 crew, 24 hours a day. The house wasn't a home any more, it was a studio, so I get why she didn't like it." In terms of Aimee's siblings, Kelly opened up about their relationship and in 2021 said: "We don't talk". ‌ Talking on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Kelly explained: "We're just really different. She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her." Speaking to Clevelan d in 2021, Aimee, who released her debut album Vacare Adamaré in 2020, opened up about her love for music. ‌ "I started writing, secretly, as a teenager. I also would write a lot of poetry - I was always creative in that way, less academically inclined," she said "My parents overheard me kind of singing in my room. It was a friend of my parents who said, 'Oh, you should come and stay with me and work with some producers and see what happens.'" It's thought Aimee lives in Los Angeles, where she recently listed her stunning mid-century home for a whopping $4.4 million (£3.3 million). ‌ Now, the rarely-seen sister is set to star in a new documentary about her rock legend father. Aimee will feature alongside her mother Sharon and siblings Jack and Kelly in the upcoming full-length special dedicated to the Prince of Darkness. Titled Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, the documentary is slated for release later this year. Filming had reportedly been ongoing for several months before the star's death, with a particular focus on Ozzy's struggles following a serious fall in 2019 that had life-altering consequences. ‌ The production also captures intimate behind-the-scenes moments at Ozzy's final performance at Villa Park, according to The Sun. An industry source revealed: "Aimee never wanted to be in the spotlight; she was never comfortable with the attention. "However, she believed the documentary about her father's life was a fitting way to break cover, as the special has a deep and emotive angle. "The audience will be just as captivated by Aimee's insights as they are to discover how Ozzy has managed during his more challenging years."

Ozzy Osbourne superfan 'thought it was a prank' when heavy metal legend died

Ozzy Osbourne fans - including emotional Jen Butler - lined the streets of Birmingham yesterday as the Prince of Darkness made his final journey through his home city An Ozzy Osbourne superfan thought "it was a prank" when the the Prince of Darkness died. ‌ Jen Butler was among thousands of mourners gathered in Birmingham city centre yesterday as Ozzy, the frontman of Black Sabbath, made his final journey through his home city. Jen arrived at 5.45am to pay her respects to the legendary heavy metal icon, who died aged 76 last week after a battle with Parkinson's disease. ‌ But it took Jen, 46, one week to accept the tragedy as, at first, she believed she was being pranked. Grieving, she declined for days to visit the site of floral tributes on Broad Street, Birmingham, despite only living around four miles away in Smethwick, West Midlands. ‌ Fighting the emotion as she spoke to a reporter at the scene of the funeral procession yesterday, Jen said: "Honestly, when he passed, I thought it was a prank, it's only today that I've had enough courage to come down and see the memorial. It's starting to sink in that he's really gone." The funeral procession passed by the Black Sabbath Bridge, which has been transformed into a giant shrine featuring hundreds of flowers and tributes. Reflecting by the bridge on Broad Street in the city centre, Jen continued: "I became a fan when I was eight-years-old. My whole life has literally been this man. ‌ "When we got here it was 5.45am and there were already loads of people here. I was going to camp overnight, I expected it to be this packed. Us rock fans, usually we don't get up yet before midday. "He's the only person that I'd get up that early for. There were probably 30 or so people here at that time and now it's descended into chaos. "Ozzy has done so much for us over the years, he's given us such beautiful music, the least we could do is get here and see him off... To me this is bigger than the Queen's passing. I didn't even go to the Queen's funeral." ‌ Chants of "Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy" could be heard while city centre bars blasted out Black Sabbath hits. The cortège, which passed these pubs, was accompanied by a brass band performance from Birmingham musicians Bostin' Brass. The Osbourne family, which paid for the event and all associated costs, followed the hearse through the city centre. Ozzy's wife Sharon, and children Kelly, Jack, Aimee and Louis were among relatives to get out of cars at the bridge and pay their respects to the star. In heartbreaking scenes, Sharon broke down in tears as she grieved the loss of her husband of more than 40 years. Sharon, 72, l ooked heartbroken as she emerged from her car to survey the thousands of tributes at the famous bridge.
