Golden Retriever Slides Down Stairs Every Day Just to 'Make an Entrance'

Golden Retriever Slides Down Stairs Every Day Just to 'Make an Entrance' originally appeared on Parade Pets. Our fur babies have their own unique ways of doing things. My little senior Dachshund is very dainty in how she eats and carries herself in general. My Pug bounds about like a bull in a china shop, and has perfected a "happy dance" at dinner time. It's his own signature jig. Chester the Golden Retriever added a unique spin on going downstairs. Rather than just walking or running, the creative canine uses a little flair to get from one place to another. In the TikTok from @lucy_morrison18, Chester was at the top of the steps in his home about to head downstairs. One would expect him to take the steps one by one, but he has a different technique. Chester slid down the stairs, using his front paws as a guide and his back legs just went along for the ride. The playful pup made a sort of bark/groan/growl noise as he careened down the steps. "He likes to make an entrance every morning," the onscreen text explained. These don't look like ordinary straight steps — there were a few turns and corners that Chester had to navigate and he handled it like a pro. The gliding Golden slid right past his mom, who was on the steps with some laundry. The expression on her face revealed that this is a daily occurence with her seemed almost disappointed when he got to the bottom of the stairs, like the fun ended too soon. The frisky fur baby definitely makes his mark when he goes from one floor to another. "He's not your average guy," the caption read. The innovative pooch deserves props for his sense of whimsy and originality. I don't know of any dogs that intentionally slide down the stairs, though there are obviously some out there. My Pug was actually afraid of stairs when we adopted him as a rescue from Puerto Rico. He overcame his fear, but he's still a bit hesitant when it comes to taking that first step. Hopefully Chester will stick to the stairs and not attempt to slide down the banister. 🐶🐾🐾 Golden Retriever Slides Down Stairs Every Day Just to 'Make an Entrance' first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 28, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 28, 2025, where it first appeared. Bernese Mountain Dog's Hilarious Refusal to Go Inside Leaves Dog Dad Cracking Up

Bernese Mountain Dog's Hilarious Refusal to Go Inside Leaves Dog Dad Cracking Up originally appeared on Parade Pets. Sometimes, even the most well-behaved dogs have their off moments. Just like us, they have their preferences, and occasionally ignore our best efforts if something more exciting catches their eye. And when your dog is the size of a Bernese Mountain Dog, changing their mind isn't as simple as picking them up. Especially when they go into full drama-flop mode, but with these big, lovable goofballs, it's almost impossible to do anything but laugh. Watch Harley's hilarious standoff with his dad in this Instagram video from July 7: Although picking up a small, stubborn pup might be doable, it's a different story when you're dealing with a dog like Harley. Bernese Mountain Dogs can weigh well over 100 pounds, and Harley used every ounce of that to his advantage. He didn't just hit the brakes; he flopped, rolled, and made it absolutely clear he wasn't how can you be mad when they're having that much fun? His dad, Chad, certainly couldn't. He tried lifting him (nope), pleaded with him (still nope), and finally resorted to the one thing that worked, bribery with a stick! Check out the winning moment in part 2, shared on July 8: Pet parents felt seen. Viewer @rudybearberner shared, 'Our daily struggle as well 😂 I've learned to embrace it except when I have to really use the bathroom.' Another chimed in, 'I have a Golden—can confirm that once the stubborn flop is activated, you should immediately acknowledge defeat and await further doggo instructions.' And @thesideporchcottages nailed it: 'Feel this so deeply. The parking lot at the vet this morning for us.' It seems, if you've ever experienced the art of the doggy protest, you're in good company. Bernese Mountain Dogs are famously affectionate, intelligent, and gentle. But they can also be strong-willed. And when they decide playtime isn't over, well, you may as well sit back and enjoy the show. Harley may not have gone inside on Dad's timeline, but he won hearts by doing it his way. With that much fluff and personality, it's hard to do anything but smile. 🐶SIGN UP to get 'pawsitivity' delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾 Bernese Mountain Dog's Hilarious Refusal to Go Inside Leaves Dog Dad Cracking Up first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 14, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 14, 2025, where it first appeared.

Video: Golden Retriever Rubs Against the Rail Seconds After Owner Cleaned It

Golden Retrievers are absolute divine gifts for their owners. However, sometimes, they may throw a tantrum or just be a little mischievous, leaving the owner stunned. This charming Golden Retriever named Maverick Bradley went full-on rebel mode when he saw his owner cleaning the rail around the stairs. The pet parent captured the entire moment and shared it on Instagram on July 9, through the fur baby's official account @maverickthegoldennn. Since then, the clip has gone viral. It has garnered a total of 88K views and 11.7K likes at the time of writing. A video on Instagram displaying a Golden Retriever dog named Maverick throwing a rebellious tantrum right in front of his human parent has left the internet in stitches. The dog's mischievous activity is as funny as it gets. The Instagram video began by giving a look at the Golden Retriever from some distance as he was just about to come up the stairs. At that moment, the human parent of the dog could be heard talking to him. The pet parent was cleaning the rail around the stairs, as it was quite dirty with dog hair. The owner then went on to ask the canine if it was he who made the rail so unclean. The dog listened to all that his owner had to say to him and then silently came up the stairs. However, it was just a calm before the storm. As soon as the Golden Retriever reached the top, he started running while rubbing against the rail to make it even dirtier right after the owner was finished cleaning it. What made the video even more hilarious was the trace of mischief on Maverick's face. He absolutely turned into a rebel and repeated the activity several times. Meanwhile, the owner had no other option but to witness it. People have been reacting to the video in the comment section. One person pointed out, 'I love how whenever you tell him mav… He does whatever it is more.' 'And I'll do it again,' jokingly commented another person. Video: Owner Tricks Golden Retriever To Get Back Things

To a dog, possession isn't just nine-tenths of the law, it's the whole thing. Once something lands between their paws, especially one that doesn't belong to them, it instantly becomes treasure. However, in one recent Instagram video, a clever owner turns the tables on his sneaky Golden Retriever with a bit of quick thinking. Comet Olsen, a Golden Retriever with a flair for mischief, has built a bit of a reputation for swiping household items, as seen in this video. However, her latest stunt backfired, thanks to a clever move by her dad. In a new clip, Comet is seen confidently lounging around on the couch, clutching a pink hairbrush like it's her most prized possession. Rather than engaging in a tug-of-war or begging her to give it back, her owner decides to try a sneakier approach. He casually throws a blanket over Comet's face, momentarily blocking her vision. With her distracted and unable to see what's happening, he swiftly and silently retrieves the hairbrush from her. By the time she realizes what has happened, it is already too late — her prized loot is gone. The timing, execution, and Comet's confused reaction have viewers cracking up. 'Dada won this round Comet!!! Game on,' wrote one commenter, suggesting this was just one battle in an ongoing playful rivalry. Another joked, 'So I think she was plotting her next heist. And you couldn't see her thinking it through. All the while thinking 'oh em gee.'' Others sided with Comet, calling out the owner's tactic as unfair: 'So so rude Dad! You cheated!' Often, dogs 'steal' items like brushes, socks, or slippers because these objects carry their owners' scent. This behavior can stem from affection, boredom, or even mild anxiety. Some canines, especially Retriever breeds, simply enjoy carrying and hoarding objects as part of their natural instinct. It is rarely about being 'bad,' and they're just being dogs. To manage this habit, you can offer plenty of interactive toys, keep personal items out of reach, and engage your pup in games that satisfy their natural instincts. And sometimes, as Comet's dad shows, it just takes a little creativity (and a blanket) to win the day. The post Video: Owner Tricks Golden Retriever To Get Back Things appeared first on DogTime.

Senior Siberian Cat's Wild Reaction To Noticing Hidden Camera Has People Stunned

Senior Siberian Cat's Wild Reaction To Noticing Hidden Camera Has People Stunned originally appeared on PetHelpful. Cats with their infinite peculiarities and mysterious personalities will never cease to amaze us. Whereas dogs will usually do things specifically when people are around because they want attention from their humans, their feline counterparts will do something a little different. Just take the senior Siberian cat, Miss Nonna, for instance. Apparently, she enjoys 'screaming at the top of her lungs,' but only when she thinks no one is listening. But as this stunning video shows, that's not all this beguiling feline will do when she believes no one is watching. It all started with this fluffy senior Siberian cat 'screaming' her heart out at the top of the stairs. Naturally, this is quite the adorable spectacle, and Miss Nonna's human wanted to film this unruly act of adorableness. The problem was that Miss Nonna is a little shy. As soon as the camera was out, she would clam up like she had just caught a sudden case of stage fright. Undeterred, Miss Nonna's human decided to pull a sneaky move in order to film their cat's rantings and ravings; they hid their phone at the top of the stairs and started recording while the beloved feline companion was enough, Miss Nonna was completely oblivious to the camera first. She started meowing to her fluffy heart's content, but after a moment, the camera finally caught her eye. Suddenly filled with curiosity, she started to approach the camera while continuing to meow loudly. But, just as Miss Nonna reached the camera, something remarkable happened. She began to speak as only a feline can. 'Herrow?' She said. And then again, and again, saying 'herrow' to her newest friend, the camera! As this other video shows, Miss Nonna is indeed a very vocal kitty. As such, it is not uncommon for her to give 'updates' to her human whenever she feels they are necessary. But Miss Nonna, being the complex feline that she is, doesn't always just give her human a straightforward meow when she wants to communicate. Sometimes, she will squeak to speak. And squeak in this clip, she does! While we would never presume to speak for Miss Nonna, we do feel confident in encouraging her to speak her mind. Because, as these videos show, when she does, it is a prime time formula for cuteness overload! Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Follow us on YouTube for more entertaining videos.
