I spent £10,000 to get a facelift in Mexico at the age of 50 - now people say I look like I'm 25 again
A woman has astonished social media users after sharing her jaw-dropping transformation after getting a $14,000 face lift in Mexico. Michelle Wood, 50, travelled from the US to Guadalajara at the end of May to get plastic surgery as she wanted to 'feel and look more refreshed'. After documenting her journey on TikTok, she has gained 197,000 followers, with people declaring that she now 'looks 25' and saying it's the 'best non-celebrity face lift' they've ever seen. Michelle filmed the first video - which went viral with 21 million views - outside Hospital San Javier right before she went under the knife with her surgeon, Dr Maribel Belmontes. She spent a total of $14,300 (£10,407) on the surgery alone but then shelled out an extra $1,000 (£727) on a recovery home which included food, transport to and from appointments and care. While her before pictures showed several visible wrinkles and other signs of ageing, she was left with a remarkably smooth visage after having the procedure. Speaking about her newly taut and youthful appearance, Michelle said: 'I still don't recognise myself and I think part of that has to do with that I've never looked like this. Even in my 20s I never looked like this because I was very, very obese. 'I'm ecstatic with my results, I love my surgeon I think she did a phenomenal job.' TikTok users were left in a state of disbelief after seeing Michelle's results, with one commenting: 'Ok now this is freaking me out, you look 25!' Another said: 'Holy bananas! This is the best non-celebrity face lift I've ever seen.' A third wrote: 'Omg I thought I was watching a 25 year old talk about her facelift. I went back to see your before videos because I was wondering what you looked like before and I am amazed!!!! You're over 50?!?!!! Wow - amazing.' A fourth asked: 'Do you need a new ID now?? You look thirty years younger!!' Michelle explained that because she looked years younger than her ID photo, her surgeon had to write a letter to passport control explaining that she had undergone a significant face lift. 'I wasn't even questioned, I swear they didn't even look at my photo when I went through immigration or customs,' she said. She also said that anyone wanting to have the same surgery should deactivate their phone's face ID before going under the knife as the system won't recognise you afterwards. Michelle said: 'If you're planning to go for any kind of facial plastic surgery, make sure to deactivate your face ID on any apps because they will not work.' Prior to going under the knife, Michelle told her TikTok followers: 'I hope to bring you along on this journey so you can see the good, the bad and the ugly. I don't want to look 20, I just want to look like I slept for 30 years. 'I'm choosing to do this for me and everyone has been fully supportive.' Michelle said she grew up overweight and believes that losing 130 pounds twice in her life has affected her neck structure. Michelle said: 'I've decided to get a full face lift, forehead lift, lip lift as well as a mini chin implant to help my profile. The forehead lift is mainly to address my uneven brows and then because I've got a landing strip on my forehead where hair should be way back here.' Michelle admitted that the first few days 'were rough' as she candidly showed her swollen face covered in bandages and she had severe bruising around her eyes. On day three of recovery, the mother-of-two said: 'I feel very much like a Bratz doll, I'm hoping the swelling will go down. Right now, I don't know who I am, I don't recognise [myself].' She described the centre as 'very reasonable and a great experience' as they helped nurse her back to health. Michelle said that people have already started thinking she looks decades younger, with some people thinking she's her son's sibling rather than mother. When she went to the eye doctor to get contacts because of the swelling on her eyes, the doctor could not believe she was his mother and could only respond by saying 'wow'. She said: 'It was funny because he asked me how old I was when he saw my prescription because obviously I have a bifocal and I told him I was 50 and he said "I would have never guessed that, I would've thought you were 27" and I said that it was because I had a face lift.' More and more people are choosing to go under the knife in an effort to look younger. Last month, Kris Jenner wowed fans with her incredible transformation after showing off her youthful appearance, showing her to have aged in reverse. The 69-year-old momager has been sharing Instagram slideshows from her trip to Paris last week to attend her daughter Kim Kardashian's jewelry heist trial and Lauren Sánchez's bachelorette bash. Kris (born Kristen Houghton) no longer shows any sign of sagging or wrinkling thanks to the skilled hands of Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine. Although age is just a number, that number is getting harder to figure out based on how someone looks thanks to beauty treatments, sophisticated skincare routines, the subtle plastic surgery. Back in the '90s, the face of a 30-something-year-old looked very distinct, but now, age-reducing procedures and modern makeup techniques has made age a lot more ambiguous. 'The perception of 30 has changed because cosmetic procedures have become normalized, especially on social media,' Dr. Ann Monis, a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist at Medical Anti-Aging told the Daily Mail about the phenomenon. [Influencers and public figures are sharing] their injectables, skin treatments and surgical tweaks,' Dr. Monis explained. 'That constant visibility shifts what we think is typical for 30.' Dr. Monis added that the shift isn't just cultural, but psychological as well. 'This is happening because repetition changes how the brain sets expectations,' the medical professional explained. 'When someone sees the same kind of edited or altered face over and over, the brain will then start treating that image as the baseline. It becomes the new 'normal' even though it is not natural or accurate.'

Aubrey O'Day Removes Lip Filler, Gets Breast Lift and Shares Why She Did It -- See Her Youthful New Look!
"I was looking in the mirror, and I thought it looked good. 'Cause so many people in L.A. have big, fat lips that are done by doctors that just give it to you for free," O'Day explained. "But I didn't realize how -- it was taking over my face. I didn't even look young. You can really look much younger if you get rid of that stuff." Aubrey O'Day is turning back the clock. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Danity Kane alum opens up about her scaled back look and why she decided to reverse some of the plastic surgery procedures she's had done over the years. "I got lip fillers that were like, invading my face. And I thought they really looked good until they took 'em away and I got to see that I was trippin.' Good God, I'm so happy those lips are off my face. When I see photos with the lip injections, I'm disgusted," O'Day expressed. "I thought I was killing it, and I was not, ever was I killing it with those big, giant -- when people would say 'duck lips,' I'd be like, 'They're just jealous,' oh no, they were trying to tell me." She continued, "Some people aren't haters, some people are really trying to guide you better. And I was looking in the mirror, and I thought it looked good. 'Cause so many people in L.A. have big, fat lips that are done by doctors that just give it to you for free." O'Day said the doctor she was seeing at the time had her come in for repeated treatments, and she'd accept them, telling ET she was just trying to "keep up with the Joneses." "But I didn't realize how -- it was taking over my face. I didn't even look young," O'Day stressed. "You can really look much younger if you get rid of that stuff." "People always think I have these fake boobs, fake butt," she continued. "I think when they see me in person they can probably get a better gauge." O'Day learned a lot more about cosmetic surgery after appearing on E!'s Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind, where she got the chance to scale back some of the things she had over the years and also learn about potential procedures she could undergo to get that youthful glow she was always after. "Even all the way through the ending, we filmed later on, at the end of last year, I was still -- and I'm gonna hate seeing the end of this show 'cause my 41, 40 at that time, year-old boobies, were like down here, and I'm taping them up. I finally figured out how to get this boob tape that lifts them all up," O'Day explained of her breasts, which she got done as a result of the experience. Despite rumors that she had implants, O'Day revealed only recently got a breast lift when she went under the knife in January -- something she has zero regrets about. "Now these things are just sitting. No bra, no tape, no nothing. They're just up. They're back like my 21-year-old titties, and I love it," the musician gushed. "So I would tell everybody that surgery was great, I'll tell you the surgeon. They look amazing. Very, very minimal scares. I'm so happy that my boobs are finally back where they deserve to be after all the work I've done in my life." As for what made her undergo the experiment, O'Day said the transformational aspect -- inside and out -- is what drew her to it. "There's therapists... for me, is it gonna be a physical transformation that's so outrageous? No. But physical transformations and mental transformations hold the same type of weight. You may have to be out for months with a physical transformation, sometimes you're out for years with mental ones," O'Day said of filming for the show, which took place during the time Sean "Diddy" Combs was initially indicted on crimes of sex trafficking and racketeering. Diddy has since gone to trial and was ultimately convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He's currently behind bars as he awaits sentencing. "I learned so much," she added, of both herself and what she was able to handle, by participating in the show, noting that she made "real" lifelong friends in the process that are still standing by her side today. Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind airs Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET on E! Solve the daily Crossword

Woman issues stark warning about plastic surgery as she claims nose job 'ruined' her face
A woman has issued a stark warning about plastic surgery after she claimed her nose job 'ruined' her face. Wendy Macias, 36, from Los Angeles, California, has been self conscious about her nose ever since she was a little girl. At age five, her brothers started to pick on her and called her 'Narizona,' which means 'big nosed girl' in Spanish. After years of battling insecurities over it, she decided to go under the knife to get a rhinoplasty earlier this year. But as soon as she saw the results she 'realized she had made a huge mistake.' She said she immediately missed her old self, and fell into a 'deep depression ' in the weeks that followed. Now, she regrets getting the plastic surgery and still struggles to look at herself in the mirror. Wendy is now trying to warn others about the severe emotional impact of surgically changing your appearance. While speaking with the Daily Mail about it, she explained that she drove to Tijuana, Mexico, to get the procedure on May 27, and it cost her $6,640. Initially, she couldn't see the results due to swelling and bruising, but 'not recognizing herself' in the mirror felt 'strange.' While she couldn't take off the bandages, the doctor had taken a snap of her new nose while she was on the operating table and showed her a before and after comparison. 'Upon seeing my table pictures for the first time, I immediately realized I had made a huge mistake,' she admitted. Wendy said the doctor made her 'nose tip incredibly high up' which was not what she had wanted. 'My nasal bridge had been made too sloped for my preference. I didn't want an upturned, fairy cutesy nose,' she said. 'I wanted a subtle, straighter curve and for the tip to be parallel to the ground when I smiled.' She described the first few days after surgery as 'miserable,' explaining that she was in severe pain and struggled to eat, sleep, and breathe. 'I was so sleep deprived, bruised and swollen. My mouth was severely dry all the time,' she shared. 'To purse your lips for a straw or to open wide for a bite hurt so much because the cuts that were still healing would tear. 'It felt like paper cuts on your nose. I could only open my mouth a little. I had only soups and smoothies and tons and tons of water and tea. 'I would wake up in the middle of the night ... It was so uncomfortable because I couldn't move my nose or mouth very much. 'The first five days I constantly had blood and snot in my throat and had an incredibly dry throat all the time. It was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend it.' But harder than the physical pain was the emotional toll that it had on her, as she completely regretted going under the knife and longed for her old self back. 'I started to unknowingly fall into a deep post op depression,' she shared. 'I cried for a week straight. I was so wildly sad. 'My loved ones would console me and call me beautiful over and over. I would just shake my head and fervently say, "Thank you but I don't believe you." I felt like I had ruined myself with all my heart. I felt so ugly.' She said she felt 'incredibly guilty' for changing something that had been a piece of her her whole life and 'deeply ashamed of herself for giving in to societal standards.' 'A nose job is an incredibly profound change to the physical, mental and emotional state of one's being,' she stressed. 'Your brain will also reject your reflection and make it appear more warped than it might be so you can clear your face of foreign objects. I couldn't look at myself without shaking my head in regret. 'I still can't look at mirrors from a far away distance to this day.' She slammed her doctor for failing to go over the potential 'repercussions' with her. 'He did not go over the repercussions of how I can react afterwards,' she said. 'He hadn't informed me about the possibility of post op depression.' In the end, Wendy views it as a 'deep lesson on forgiveness and self love' and is trying to accept her new self. Her message to others who may be thinking of going under the knife? 'Do not rush, do not make decisions while you aren't emotionally stable,' she urged. 'Talk to your loved ones about it. You don't have to feel alone. Surgeons will not advertise bad work. Don't rely only on social media for their work. 'Scour the internet for their name and look for bad reviews. Take your time to craft what you desire your nose to look like in a program if you can. Know the risks. There are many!'

I've spent £105k on surgery & flew from London to the Dominican Republic for bum implants – but they FELL OUT in the gym
A SURGERY megafan has opened up on the horrors of her bum implant surgery that led her to spend £63,000 on corrective procedures. Chelsea Robinson Harrison, 29, flew from London to the Dominican Republic in 2019 to increase the appearance of her backside. 7 7 7 7 The self-described businesswoman, model, and mother, who has spent £105,000 in total on plastic surgery, decided to have the surgery abroad because she had heard that doctors in the Caribbean country are particularly skilled in the procedure. However, after going under the knife and returning home, Chelsea's dream figure soon turned to a nightmare, when a gym workout caused her bum implants to 'come out'. On a recent ITV episode of Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection, Chelsea explained: 'Six years ago, I went to the Dominican Republic because I heard that they were the best at doing bum implants. 'But then, when I got back from there, I went to the gym. I was squatting in the gym, and I felt something. 'My leg went all tingly, and I felt something come out. My implant was hanging.' Chelsea recalled that her implant had come out from under her muscle and described the experience as 'horrendous'. She added: 'If I knew all the ins and outs, I would have never got the bum implants because that was the worst, absolute worst journey I've ever been through, and it wasn't worth it.' Since then, Chelsea has spent £63,000 on corrective procedures to fix the issue. But while the procedure put Chelsea off of bum implant surgery, she has by no means been deterred from undergoing other procedures. In the latest episode of Olivia Attwood 's docuseries, Chelsea joined the Love Island legend as she underwent her fourth boob job for just shy of £8,000, which saw her receive two implants weighing almost 1kg each. Moment Olivia Attwood gasps 'oh my god' as Price Of Perfection star reveals incredible before and after surgery pics after £250k makeover Opening up on her journey into plastic surgery, Chelsea acknowledged: 'I was quite eager and as soon as I turned 18, I was booked straight away to get my boobs done.' When looking at old photographs of herself before getting breast implants, Chelsea sighed: 'I look so ugly there. There's just no definition anywhere, there's no boobs, there's no bum.' What are the risks of getting surgery abroad? IT'S important to do your research if you're thinking about having cosmetic surgery abroad. It can cost less than in the UK, but you need to weigh up potential savings against the potential risks. Safety standards in different countries may not be as high. No surgery is risk-free. Complications can happen after surgery in the UK or abroad. If you have complications after an operation in the UK, the surgeon is responsible for providing follow-up treatment. Overseas clinics may not provide follow-up treatment, or they may not provide it to the same standard as in the UK. Also, they may not have a healthcare professional in the UK you can visit if you have any problems. Source: NHS It was Chelsea's career as a glamour model that led her to compare herself to others in the industry, which made her feel her chest wasn't big enough to compete with her colleagues. She admitted: 'I kind of fell into lingerie modelling, but I felt like I wasn't competing with the other glamour models that I was seeing. 'I had no boobs, I had like an A-cup, so I wanted to look like everyone else.' There's always something else you need, you want, or something that could make you look better Chelsea Robinson Harrison Following this, she soon went on to have two additional breast implants before her most recent one, in a bid to get a 'fuller' and 'bigger' result. Chelsea said: 'All in all, I've definitely spent over £100,000, probably £105,000. It's been eleven years, and a pricey eleven years.' Chelsea's implants are the largest available at the London -based clinic that Chelsea visited, as she explained: 'It's a lot if you think about carrying two of those around.' Despite the struggles, Chelsea concluded: 'There's always something else you need, you want, or something that could make you look better. 'It's almost like adrenaline, and I feel like that's what you're chasing as well.' Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection is now available to stream on ITVX.
