I've found the best bras for bigger busts, and they don't sacrifice style for support

As a plus-size model and a body image activist, it's safe to say I've seen my fair share of bras for bigger busts. While there are some great styles out there, there are some fuller-bust bras that are uncomfortable and unsupportive. When it comes to choosing the right bra for you, knowing your bra size is crucial. Our bodies change dramatically throughout our lifetime, and many women are wearing the wrong bra size, so before investing in new bras, make sure you know which size you need. Brands such as Elomi offer a free online bra fitting service, so you don't even need to leave the house to double-check your size and fit. But even once your size is sorted, there's no guarantee that all the bras out there will work for you. It helps to know if a bra will have an uncomfortable underwire or annoying straps, so I tested a range of bras for bigger busts to find the very best. How I tested I tested lots of bras by wearing each for a minimum of eight hours. I wore the bras while working from home, walking the dog and travelling into London on the train. I was looking for bras that were super comfortable, supportive, breathable and adjustable for different outfits. I also wanted to try various fashion-forward styles, as having a larger chest shouldn't mean missing out on the latest trends. Jelena Dokic slams trolls who called her a 'fat cow' before 20 kilo weight loss and reveals she is now is being attacked for being too slim - as the tennis champs shares her new clothing size

Jelena Dokic has shared a passionate plea for body shaming trolls to leave her alone. The former tennis star, who has shed 20 kilos, said in an Instagram post on Monday that she was called a slew of horrible names when she was larger. But the 42-year-old said that now that she has slimmed down, she is still being attacked for how she looks now that she is down to a size 10. 'When I was a size 20 someone always complained and now that I am a size 10 someone is always complaining too' she began her lengthy Instagram post. 'It baffles me how there is always some troll, bully or unkind person out there that has to comment or put someone down. When I was a size 20, I was a called names like whale, cow, fat and asking what happened to my size' she continued. 'Now that I am a size 10, I have apparently jumped on the "diet" culture whatever that means, it's now bad that I am healthier and lost some weight, and I have abandoned standing up for plus size people. 'Just goes to show, nothing will ever be good enough for people and that's sad.' Jelena continued: 'So if you are facing any kind of judgement especially related to size or looks, you do you and don't allow anyone to make you feel small, worthless or like you are not enough.' The former athlete said that she was still the same person no matter what her size. 'I haven't abandoned anyone. I just got healthier and lost some weight. My values have and always will be the same' Jelena explained. 'But apparently so will people's judgement no matter what. If you can be anything, be kind. You never know what anyone is going through.' The Australian tennis champion has been sharing her weight-loss journey with her fans over the past few months. In March, the Nine commentator shared a side-by-side image that showed before and after her weight loss. Captioning the photo, Jelena offered an inspirational sentiment about body positivity. 'What is the difference between the two images??? Nothing except what you see on the outside. My BODY SIZE,' she began. 'I am the same hardworking person, respectful, generous, empathetic, compassionate, humble, kind, driven, strong, resilient, capable and loving person, woman and friend. 'What really matters is not different.' Jelena urged her followers to look beyond the superficial and not judge people based on their size. 'Instead, appreciate and focus on what is on the inside,' Jelena wrote. 'Beauty has nothing to do with looks. It's how you are as a person. It's how you make others feel especially about themselves. 'No beauty shines brighter than that of a kind heart. Let your eyes see souls and not bodies. And never body shame anyone.' Jelena recently revealed she had lost 20kg in 10 months after having an eating disorder for two decades. Posting to Instagram last year, the commentator shared a post comparing her current appearance with how she looked back in 2023. In the caption, she stressed that she was happy in both pictures, adding that weight loss was not the goal but simply a 'byproduct' of adopting healthier habits. 'This is about HEALTH and not SIZE,' she continued. 'So many questions about me getting healthier, which has seen me lose weight. Weight loss was not a priority; it's a byproduct of looking after my health.' Some had raised the dangers of crash-dieting, but Jelena responded: 'I didn't lose weight quickly. I lost 20 kilos in just under 10 months. Nothing fast.' Jelena explained she had lost the weight because of 'a family history of diabetes ' and having been recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. She also revealed how she did it: 'I stopped eating late at night, especially things like burgers, pizza, fries and desserts.

Miss Voluptuous England has told of her excitement at taking part in an international competition that helps empower plus-sized Mackinder, from Goole, East Yorkshire, will be in the final of the Miss Voluptuous contest in Doncaster later this comes after she was crowned with the England title earlier this year and will include women who have won national rounds in countries around the Mackinder said she had been reluctant to take part in the competition due to a lack of confidence, but realised she wanted to inspire other young girls. "I first applied about three years ago but ended up not following through with the application process because of my confidence, but then I kept seeing adverts for it and thought, 'No, I'm going to do it'."When I got the email saying I had been selected for Miss Voluptuous England, I cried for about four hours."I was just so excited to show all the young girls that there is light at the end of the tunnel. If I had the chance to meet my younger self, I would say everything will be OK and your body is not defined by the scale."Ms Mackinder said she had struggled with self-confidence over the years due to being bullied at she said she now embraced who she was and "doesn't care what people think anymore". "I suffered a lot of bullying and didn't want to go to school, so locked myself away, and I think that did have a really huge impact on my self-confidence," she said."It has only been the last few years that I've really pushed myself out there and now I don't care what people think... I know I'm doing this for me and for all the young girls who felt like me growing up."The finalist said the turning point came when she was in a shop and wanted to get a dress that had a leg slit in it."I thought people were going to laugh and poke fun but then I thought, 'No, it's my favourite dress', and ever since then I've bought and worn what I wanted and not been worried what other people will think." Ms Mackinder is now preparing for October's final."The final will be split into different sections, including us having to create a costume of our nation," she said."Mine is going to link agriculture and England as I come from a farming family. [It] will replace what would normally be a swimsuit competition, which I think is fantastic."Listen to highlights from Hull and East Yorkshire on BBC Sounds, watch the latest episode of Look North or tell us about a story you think we should be covering here.
