The singer's positive update came after she shared that she was hospitalized a few days earlier. Britney Spears breaks silence after cops called over star's ‘dangerous' behaviour on plane
BRITNEY Spears has broken her silence after cops were called over her "dangerous" plane behaviour. Pop icon Britney, 43, reportedly got into trouble for drinking and smoking a cigarette on a plane - with police meeting her on the tarmac in Los Angeles on Thursday. 3 3 Now, Britney has addressed the controversy in her own unique way - with an Instagram video showing her toasting the camera while on the plane. In her caption, she wrote: " 'Me yesterday!!!' before claiming she thought the officials who greeted her were there to support her. 'I was like WOW I feel special!!!' she wrote. The Gimme More songstress then launched into a further explanation, writing: 'Some planes I've been on you can't smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on the outside of the seat!!!' She added that it was her 'first time drinking vodka' and claimed it made her feel 'so SMART!!!' Britney said she asked for a cigarette, which a friend lit for her, leading her to assume it was allowed on that particular flight. 'I was like OH SO THIS IS A PLANE WHERE YOU CAN SMOKE!!!' she wrote, before apologising to 'anyone I offended'. She also took issue with one of the flight attendants, alleging they wouldn't let her stand up for the first 20 minutes and were overly forceful when helping with her seatbelt. Britney said: 'She acted so weird. I didn't like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space!!! 'I've never been to an international airport!!! Am I famous or something???' The singer then changed gears, plugging a new product by teasing: 'You guys like my flower choker??? B Tiny is coming soon and that's something we've added!!! It's honestly adorable!!!' Soon after, she posted one of her trademark dance videos - this time including footage of her swigging from a bottle, set to Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. TMZ reported how Britney caused a scene when she started drinking while flying home on a private jet with her security from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Flight attendants were reportedly shocked when she pulled out a cigarette and lit it mid-flight. The AMA winner put out the cigarette when asked. However, cops still confronted her when she landed at Los Angeles International Airport, per the outlet. She was reportedly issued a warning and then allowed to go free. Sources told TMZ that Britney was "difficult" on the trip. On a private jet, the owner decides if smoking is allowed in the aircraft cabin. Customs and Border Protection didn't immediately respond to The U.S. Sun's request for comment. LAX police and the LAPD also haven't returned The U.S. Sun's request for comment. The commotion comes after reports that Spears was sober just last year. "She is sober and does not do drugs," a source close to the singer told the Daily Mail in November. "She has a glass of wine now and then, but she does not have a substance abuse problem and has people around her to make sure that she stays on the straight and narrow." It's unclear if Britney is still sober. Last week, she appeared to be enjoying her trip to Cabo when she posted a video of her dancing around and wearing lingerie. Her onboard cigarette lighting comes after she was seen carrying a grill lighter onto a jet on her birthday in December. Grill lighters are typically not allowed on aircraft due to the risk of having flammable materials in a small space, while disposable and Zippo lights are permitted. In 2020, Britney revealed that she accidentally burned down her home gym with two candles months earlier. "It was an accident… but yes… I burnt it down," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "I walked past the door to the gym and flames BOOM !!!!!! "By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt." 3
