Trains suspended and station temporarily closed after power supply issues
Train services have been impacted, and a station has been temporarily closed on the Tyne and Wear Metro after power supply issues.
Problems with power on the yellow line from Wallsend to Monkseaton in both directions have seen train services suspended.
No trains from Wallsend to Monkseaton in both directions due to power supply issues @gonortheast on services 1, 307, 309, 317, 353, 354, 356, @arrivanortheast 56, 57a, 306, 308, Gatehead taxi's 19 and 351 will accept Metro Pop passes and tickets. ^KN

North Shields Metro station has also been temporarily closed due to the power supply issues.
In a statement on X (Twitter), Tyne and Wear Metro says: "We have a temporary service suspension on the yellow line from Wallsend to Monkseaton in both directions due to a problem with the power supply from an external electrical company.

"North Shields station is temporarily closed; no trains are stopping at this station due to power supply issues from an external electrical company.
"We aim to reopen the station as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience."
The statement added that tickets and Metro passes will be accepted on several Go North East bus services, including 1, 317, 354 and 356
