Tommy Fleetwood Sends Message About Public Golf Course Which Aspiring Players Should Visit

Tommy Fleetwood Sends Message About Public Golf Course Which Aspiring Players Should Visit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's not very common to check in for your tee time at a public golf course and have Tommy Fleetwood teeing off ahead of you. But that's exactly what happened when the seven-time DP World Tour winner teed it up at Bethpage State Park earlier this month to participate in golf content creator Grant Horvat's YouTube challenge, "Can I Beat Tommy Fleetwood if I Start 5 Under Par?" Advertisement A small gallery formed to watch Fleetwood's buttery swing as the pair teed off on the first hole of Bethpage Red. The over-hourlong video documents the match, with Fleetwood's charm and humor on full display. Between shots the pair discuss topics ranging from golf tips, friendships on tour, what type of shot precedes a "floppy arm," and how Tommy developed his patented sawed-off finish. Tommy Fleetwood during the second round of the U.S. LeClaire-Imagn Images Coming down the 18th hole, Fleetwood praised the Bethpage Red course, saying, "It's a really fun course to play. If you played this course every day, you'd be great at shaping the ball, you'd be a really good wedge player." The 7,092-yard, par-70, A.W. Tillinghast-designed Red course ranked 65th on 2024-25 Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S. list, ranking higher than PGA Tour sites TPC Harding Park and Bay Hill. Advertisement Bethpage State Park is the home of the upcoming 2025 Ryder Cup, which will be held on the Black course. If you're making a bucket list golf trip to play Bethpage Black, make sure to add one more day and play the Red course as well. Tommy Fleetwood is seeking his first PGA Tour win this weekend and holds a three-shot lead after Saturday's third round at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.
