Major boost for ITV daytime as THREE hit shows confirmed to return after Loose Women and Lorraine schedule chaos
ITV has been given a major boost amid the ongoing daytime TV chaos. Three huge shows have been confirmed to return after it was revealed that Loose Women and Lorraine would be undergoing major changes as part of cost-cutting measures. 5 5 5 Both programmes, which make up part of ITV daytime's output, will only run for 30 weeks and Loose Women will also be forced to ditch its studio audience. But whilst changes are afoot for those shows, three other programmes have been given a major boost with ITV planning to record brand new episodes of all three later this year. The Chase, Tipping Point and Deal or No Deal will all film brand new episodes later this year in a bid to keep them on-air until next year with new episodes that are already in the can across all three shows set to make their debuts over the summer. It is great news for viewers of Tipping Point as the show failed to record any more episodes last year sparking rumours it could be coming to an end. However, it was quickly clarified that the quiz show didn't film new episodes last year as a result of still having many unaired ones in the can that have been drip fed out across the last year. It will mark the first time that Ben has returned to the studio in almost two years to film new episodes. Elsewhere, Stephen Mulhern is gearing back up to film brand new editions of Deal or No Deal. A new full-length series will be recorded this autumn to air in 2026. But fans won't have to wait that long for new episodes with another series, which has already been filmed, set to commence later this year. Plus, The Chase, ITV's biggest quizzing output, is expected to film for four months, later this year. This news marks a positive step for quiz show fans after it was revealed that the rest of the daytime schedule would face an overhaul from next year. From January 2026, Lorraine, which is fronted by Lorraine Kelly, will air daily from 9.30am until 10am, a change from its current 9am to 10am slot. In a further change amid ITV's financial woes, it will now broadcast for only 30 weeks of the year meaning stand-in presenters who are often used in presenter Kelly's absence will no longer be needed for the remaining 22 weeks. Loose Women will broadcast fewer episodes - airing "on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year" say ITV. It is expected that a number of panellists will be given the boot as a result of the shake-up. Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily. Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am. This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year. Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year. Two huge quiz shows pulled off air all week – as Loose Women is also given the boot by ITV
TWO huge quiz shows have been pulled from ITV's schedules all week. Fans hoping to get their daily teatime fix of quizzes have been left sorely disappointed and will continue to be, with no plans for either show to make a return this week. 5 5 Both Tipping Point and The Chase have been shelved from airing all week. Fronted by Ben Shephard, Tipping Point usually screens for one hour at 4pm to see if anyone can win the jackpot prize. ITV then continues its quizzing line-up with award-winning hit The Chase at 5pm. Bradley Walsh hosts as a team of contestants take on one of the Chasers in hopes of taking home a huge sum of money if they can beat them in the final chase. But neither show will air as a result of live coverage of Royal Ascot. ITV has been forced to revamp their afternoon schedule entirely in order to accommodate broadcasting the horse racing event. It has even seen daytime show Loose Women axed all week. In order to air the racing, This Morning has been extended by 30 minutes each day until 1pm. This is followed by a 30 minute edition of ITV News airing at the earlier timeslot as opposed to its usual 1:30pm posiiton. Royal Ascot coverage then takes over right up until 6pm. The Chase embroiled in 'fix' row as viewers say ITV should be ashamed of 'ridiculously easy' questions - but would you get them- ITV News then airs its evening updates between 6pm and 7:30pm as usual followed by the day's soaps. It comes as Loose Women bosses are also reportedly axing a huge part of the show amid ITV budget cuts. Producers have decided to drop the live studio audience next year as part of a series of cost-cutting changes to its daytime programming. The show will return in 2026 with a reduced run of just 30 episodes - and without the 100-capacity crowd. It follows broader budget reductions across the channel, which also include halving Lorraine's airtime to 30 minutes and airing it only during school term times. Producers' decision to drop the audience is understood to be a cost-saving measure, as it is managed by an external company that provides security and a warm-up act. ITV 's new channel has been branded 'dire' just hours into its launch and some viewers have demanded a big change to the quiz show schedule. Called ITV Quiz, the new channel hit our screen on Monday, June 9 and streams game shows for a whopping 16 hours daily. The likes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Wheel of Fortune, Tenable, Lingo, Tipping Point and Deal Or No Deal all air between 9am and 1am. However, just one day after its launch, ITV Quiz has received a mixed reception and quiz show fans and viewers have pointed out some problems. On X, one penned: '#itvquiz is dire, it needs retro itv game shows not just modern, challenge tv.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the. According to the Express, another wrote: 'Too much same schedule episodes of same shows together too often, need more variety !! @ITV #itvQuiz Aussie version of #TheChase be good addition.' While someone else suggested different shows should be added and said: 'It's pretty decent so far. Hopefully some classic gameshows could be shown in the future. 'This would help make it more competitive with Challenge. And maybe show The Chase in the future too. But, having The Chase on ITV1 on weekdays also works well.' Another chimed in: '@ITV get Aussie version of #Thechase and other countries versions of other game and quiz shows in schedule so not just all repeats of UK versions. 'Such mass options of alternative versions of shows available to fill daily schedule that aren't even on itvx.' 'Whether it 's trivia games, picture games, parlour games, general knowledge or simply luck and chance, ITV Quiz has something for everyone from the devoted trivia buff to the casual quizzer.' Viewers will be able to watch ITV Quiz through a number of television services. It will air on channel 28 on Freeview, 22 on Freely, 28 on YouView, 119 on Freesat, 131 on Sky Q, 125 on Sky Glass, and 119 on Virgin 119. ITV Quiz is also available to stream on ITVX. Jeremy Clarkson, 65, hosts Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The Clarkson Farm star took on the role of presenter in 2018, after taking over from Chris Tarrant. The programme premiered on ITV in 1998 and ran until 2014, before being revived in 2018. Meanwhile Stephen Mulhern, 48, presents Deal Or No Deal. He took on the role in 2023. The popular series first hit our screens in 2005 and was originally presented by Noel Edmonds. It was originally aired on Channel 4 and ran for 11 years before wrapping up in 2016. However, it was revived in 2023 on ITV. Graham Norton, 62, is the face of Wheel of Fortune. The quiz show was on our screens between 1988 and 2001 and was revived in 2024. Over the years Nicky Campbell, Bradley Walsh, John Leslie and Paul Hendy have hosted it.
