'How quickly the tide can change' - fans on Gibbs-White

Following the news that Morgan Gibbs-White had signed a "record deal" with Nottingham Forest, we asked for your views on the 25-year-old committing to three more years at the City Ground. Here are some of your comments: Samuel: How quickly the tide can change in football. Really didn't expect this, and it's brilliant for the club. Could have really done with it not being played out in public but he's a young guy and you cannot blame him for what has happened. However, Mr. Marinakis has done wonders to keep him - especially when all those Tottenham fans thought they'd got him on the cheap! Ambition from Forest. Definitely finishing above them (again)! Andy: Could prove to be Forest's biggest 'signing' of the summer. Will calm a few nerves and show any potential targets we mean business and are a club continuing on an upward trajectory. Ben: Expect the unexpected: this should be Forest's new mantra. Absolutely over the moon he's staying. Everything good that Forest do goes through him. Find an adequate replacement for Anthony Elanga and Forest are back on track for another exciting season! John: Great news but we all know the worth of football contracts! Ask Wolves when Matheus Cunha signed a new contract in January and now is a Manchester United player! Kerry: Always plays with his heart on his sleeve. No doubt more money for new contract - player and agent got want they wanted. Richard: The whole thing with Morgan Gibbs-White was a farce but, as a devoted Forest fan, I'm glad he's staying. Sean: It's great to get the uncertainty out of the way. We would be in trouble if we lost both Elanga and Gibbs-White in the same window, so this is a great result. We do still need to bring some players in to give ourselves a chance of competing throughout the season, but it's great news MGW is staying. Gary: Relief mostly. A big cog in the Forest machinery. Folks will say he has held the club to ransom. I don't care - Morgan is staying.

She told The Mirror: 'The label shut down after I won, so it was pretty hard. It was tough because I'd worked so, so hard. But Simon and I had a nice relationship. 'He actually rang me – which was crazy, because it's not every day Simon Cowell rings you – to say that the label was closing down. 'He was really nice about it and said, 'I'm sorry, but you need to find a new home.' But it's not an easy thing to do.' The former TOWIE star didn't end up signing to another music label and instead she released new music independently back in 2022. Although she still performs at gigs, music isn't at the forefront of Megan's life, as she is now a mum to her son Landon, who was born last year. She and her husband Oliver Burke tied the knot in a lavish ceremony this Summer at Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire in front of their loves ones. The family-of-three now reside in Berlin, Germany as Oliver is signed to a football team out there, but Megan is still back and forth to London for career opportunities and to see her family. The public voted the reality star as the winner with a whopping 46.3% of the vote and she went on to release her own song This, which she performed on the final. The X Factor isn't the only show that Megan made a mark on as she made it to the final three on Celebrity Masterchef back in 2021. She was praised for her gluten-free recipes and her success on the show led to her returning for a Christmas special the following year, which she ended up winning. Megan subsequently released two cookbooks, Can You Make That Gluten Free? In 2021 and Love Gluten Free in March this year. Megan McKenna's TV Timeline Since her debut on Ex On The Beach, Megan has rarely been away from TV screens. Megan McKenna reveals Simon Cowell called her personally to tell her she no longer had a record deal after winning X Factor

Megan McKenna has revealed that Simon Cowell called her personally to tell her she no longer had a record deal - after winning X Factor. The former reality star, chef and singer, 32, won The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 and was subsequently awarded a record deal by music mogul Simon, 65. But soon after it was announced that Syco Music would no longer be operational and artists would have to 'find a new home'. In a new interview Megan has described the moment Simon called her to explain what had happened. 'He was really nice about it and said, 'I'm sorry, but you need to find a new home.' But it's not an easy thing to do.' While Megan is still involved in music she is now a mum to her son Landon, nine months, with her husband Oliver Burke. The pair wed in a lavish ceremony earlier this summer surrounded by family and friends. They had a raucous party after saying 'I do' in front of their loved ones at Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire. Last month Megan shared an insight into her honeymoon as she revealed what it is really like honeymooning with a baby. And after they welcomed their first child Landon in October, 2024, they then enjoyed their first official holiday as a married couple while on their honeymoon. Sharing a sweet reel to Instagram from the trip, Megan showed her followers what it was like to honeymoon with their toddler. In the clip, the couple could be seen taking turns holding Landon as they attempted to enjoy a few romantic dinners out together. They also posted numerous clips of them pushing the little one in a pram around the luxurious hotel. Alongside the clip, she penned: 'A beautiful night on our honeymoon with a very hectic voiceover ♥️ 'We have hardly got dressed up this whole holiday because it's so hard to go for dinner due to Landon's bedtime! 'We tried putting him to sleep in the pram and doing a 8pm dinner and wow it affects his whole night sleep!!! So we've got it down to a T. 'I feed Landon his dinner at 6. I bath him we get ready and then go for a 7pm dinner to be back in the room for 8.30. Basically we inhale our dinner pretty rushed but oh well.' Last month they also shared an insight into their wedding day as she posted their professional video of their big day to Instagram. Sharing a compilation of highlights from the special day Oliver looked emotional as he shed a few tears while waiting for his bride-to-be at the end of the aisle. She looked elegant as she donned a bespoke flowing white gown from Maison Peter Langner. Her gown featured a voluminous pleated skirt, a sweeping train, and a structured corset bodice with exposed boning, embellished with hand-embroidered macramé lace roses. Megan and Oliver gave a glimpse of the lavish venue, which features beautifully landscaped grounds, a suite adorned with a decadent chandelier, and a champagne and cocktail bar. The couple shared a passionate kiss in front of their friends and family after exchanging their vows before they were showered in confetti. For the wedding reception, Megan slipped into a gorgeous white couture gown, complete with elegant sleeves and pearl accessories. The beauty looked on cloud nine as she shared a romantic first dance with her husband. The couple then shared another passionate kiss as they cut their jaw-dropping seven-tier cake in front of their wedding party. No expense was spared for the lavish reception, as the happy couple went all out on decorations, the band, and dancers, partying their way late into the evening. Alongside the sweet clip, Megan wrote: 'Forever & ever and always. 07/06/25 A real life fairytale. @tynegate_films.' The couple, who welcomed their first child Landon in October, had a joint hen and stag do at the end of May.

Wisconsin legend J.J. Watt reacts to brother T.J.'s record contract extension

Wisconsin great T.J. Watt became the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history on Thursday. The standout edge rusher signed a three-year, $123 million contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including a whopping $108 million fully guaranteed at signing. The contract extends his current deal, which was set to expire after the 2025 season. Its $41 million average annual value narrowly edges the contracts of Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase ($40.25 million) and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett ($40 million). The former Badger star has become one of the best pass-rushers of this generation. He has 108 sacks, 126 tackles for loss and 225 quarterback hits in eight full years in the league. His best outputs include a 22.5-sack Defensive Player of the Year campaign in 2021 and a 19-sack 2023 season. While T.J. Watt prepares for his ninth NFL season and works to live up to his record deal, his brother J.J. took to social media to react to the news. According to Spotrac, J.J. Watt made $129,748,000 over his 12-year NFL career. T.J.'s three-year extension alone leaps over that number. The two brothers and former Wisconsin stars boast similarly terrific careers. J.J. made five All-Pro first teams and won three Defensive Player of the Year Awards. T.J., in four fewer seasons, has made four All-Pro first teams and won one DPOY Award. The duo is near the top of the list of the best brother duos in NFL history. If T.J. Watt keeps up his current pace, a spot in Canton, Ohio, will inevitably follow.
