Drake leaves fans fuming as he cancels Manchester gig hours before he's due onstage
US star Drake has left fans fuming after he cancelled his Manchester gig just hours before his performance. The One Dance singer, 38, was forced to miss his show due to "travel logistics and unforeseen ferry schedule". 4 4 Drake was set to perform at Manchester's Co-op Live arena on Monday as part of his Some Special Shows 4 U tour. But the Canadian hitmaker informed fans that he had rescheduled for August 5, with organisers ensuring "all tickets remain valid for the new date". A statement on the arena's website read: "Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled. "The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night." The singer had already played in the city on Friday and Saturday. Earlier this month, Drake left fans disappointed when he ended his three-show extravaganza at Wireless after 40 minutes. An insiders revealed the Canadian star threw an epic party after his last gig — which saw him partying at Mr Porter in Mayfair until after 5.30am. A source said: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'There were loads of celebs there like Casey Affleck and Sacha Baron Cohen. Weirdly, Lily Phillips — the X-rated adult performer — was also on the guest list. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'It was a great bash and everyone who came out looked like they'd had a really good time. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage, so it's not surprising that his final show at Wireless was cut short. 'He probably needed some extra sleep.' After his final show at Finsbury Park, North London, Drake took to Instagram to speak directly to his fans and said: 'Thank you London. 'Need some time to process what just happened so I don't have my usual caption . . . just thank you so much for the best three nights of my performance career.' Drake's fans, who had tickets to his final performance night, were not too impressed though. His shows on Friday and Saturday ran for 90 minutes, with the latter featuring 13 special guests. On Sunday, the official setlist had advertised two sets for Drake, one at 6.25pm and one at 8.55pm. But the first randomly disappeared from the schedule, with Drake coming on after Burna Boy had finished. His first track was an unreleased collaboration with Central Cee, who was seen mouthing the words from the front row, which was projected on to big screens. One concert-goer said Drake then raced through hits, with a surprise appearance from Nigerian rapper Rema and Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel. There was then only time for a few more tracks, with Drake finishing to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You for a third night in a row. 4 4

Drake cancels his concert at Manchester's Co-op Live arena due to 'travel logistics' after disappointing fans at Wireless festival
Drake has cancelled his live gig at Manchester's Co-op Live arena due to 'travel logistics and unforeseen ferry schedule'. The Canadian singer, 38, was set to perform at the iconic venue on Monday amid his Some Special Shows 4 U tour. The Ten Bands hitmaker's performance has now been rescheduled for August 5, with organisers ensuring 'all tickets remain valid for the new date'. A statement on the arena's website read: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled.' It added: 'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night.' The RnB star had already played two shows in the city on Friday and Saturday, while he will be soon back on stage for another gig at the arena on August 4. MailOnline has contacted Drake's representatives for a comment. His unexpected news comes after the Headlines rapper took to the stage of the legendary Wireless festival in London earlier this month. He reportedly threw a star-studded party on Saturday night following his second day performing leaving him 'looking tired' for his final set on Sunday. Drake disappointed fans after only appearing on stage for 40 minutes during his final performance at the festival. Eventually The Sun claimed that Drake 'probably needed some extra sleep' after partying until 6am at Mr Porter in Mayfair. There were loads of celebs in attendance, including Casey Affleck, Sacha Baron Cohen, and OnlyFans star Lily Phillips. A source told the publication: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage.' It comes after his three-day Wireless Festival residency ended in complete chaos as thousands of fans blasted the festival as 'dangerous' when they were forced to queue for hours and in huge crowds of people. As the rapper appeared on stage 10 minutes early, thousands of British festival goers were left 'disappointed' as they failed to enter London's Finsbury Park for the show. In videos shared on TikTok , festival goers were stood shoulder-to-shoulder pleading with security to let them in because they had tickets for the day. However, it wasn't just general admission that was facing large queues, as VIP guests told MailOnline that they had been forced to wait up to 'three hours' by security before coming to the conclusion they were not going to be let in and headed home. One guest attempting to get in said: 'We arrived at the guest/VIP entrance to the festival at 5:30pm and the queue was massive, but we joined and hoped it would go down quick. We ended up waiting for over two hours and we still weren't in the festival. 'When I asked security what was going on and if we would even get in for Drake coming on stage they said they couldn't give us a time, but said it would be at least another half an hour. 'Everyone was starting to get angry, and people were just pushing past the security. It felt dangerous and so we decided it was better to leave, meaning we didn't even get to see inside the festival. 'It was so disappointing that the festival had invited all these people down and then treated us like that. No staff members were willing to come out and speak to us to help the situation.'

Drake fans disappointed over cancelled Manchester gig
Disappointed fans have spoken to the BBC following Canadian rapper Drake's cancellation of his concert in Manchester on Monday due to "travel logistics".Monday's concert was called off due to "unforeseen ferry and travel logistics" and has been rescheduled for next week, according to a statement issued by the Co-op Live arena."The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night," the statement Drake had already performed at the Manchester venue on Friday and Saturday - suggesting he was in the local area - leaving fans unimpressed by the short-notice cancellation of Monday's event. 'Leaving with disappointment' Nina, 24, bought tickets for Monday night's show in June, from her home in Orlando, Florida, and decided to plan a European road trip around the concert date, culminating in seeing her "favourite artist" in Manchester on 28 July. "I made a big sacrifice just to make this concert, but I knew it would be the highlight of my trip," she said. "Yesterday morning I received an email from Ticketmaster notifying me that the tour has been postponed, which was shocking, as I had just arrived at the airport in Amsterdam to head to Manchester."Having been on holiday in Europe since mid-July, Nina is due to fly back to the US on Tuesday, and won't be able to attend the new paid nearly £340 for her General Admission floor ticket at Co-op Live and is awaiting a refund. "I came to Manchester simply for the performance, and I'm now leaving with disappointment. "I'm truly upset, but trying to enjoy the last day of my holiday here in Europe."There are many other loyal fans, like myself, who travelled thousands of miles for this performance - who worked extremely hard to be able to afford this trip, only to be left without any public apology from Drake or his team".And this isn't the first time Nina has missed out on seeing the Canadian star. Two years ago, she travelled to Nashville, Tennessee from Orlando - only for the concert once again to be cancelled the day before. 'I spent £500 on a new fit' Carlos, 18, made the journey from Brentford, in London, on Saturday, in order to see the rapper for the first time at the concert on Monday night. "I woke up to the email that it had been cancelled on Sunday morning," said Carlos."This was meant to be the first time seeing him, and it would probably be the last - because he doesn't come to the UK a lot [and] if he does, he'll be old and it won't be the same."I spent about £500 on a new [out]fit just for the night. But it's not the clothes, I paid to see Drake."All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, but Co-op Live have offered fans chance to apply for a refund if they cannot make the concert on 5 August. "I'm busy that day," said Carlos, adding he has sold back his £175 says he feels fortunate because his sister lives in Manchester, so he didn't have to spend money on a hotel ahead of the concert, but feels sorry for those who've travelled a long way and spent additional money to get to the venue. "Some have actually travelled continents to see this guy!" One of the most-streamed artists in the world, Drake released his new single 'Which One' with UK rapper Central Cee last Thursday during an episode of his Iceman stream, which was filmed around the city, including at Manchester Piccadilly railway station and Victoria has been performing across the UK this summer as part of his first tour in Europe in six years.
