Chile Investors Rediscover Their Appetite for Risk, Survey Shows

As a turbulent year on global markets finally begins to calm, Chile fixed-income investors are rediscovering their appetite for risk. More than 70% of analysts and traders polled by Bloomberg said they prefer corporate bonds over Treasury notes, the highest percentage since Bloomberg resumed the monthly survey in March. At the same time, those who said they would avoid anything rated less than AAA fell to the lowest in at least five months.

Junkiest Sale in Year Shows Extent of Europe's Credit Rally

Flora Food Group BV is the first issuer in Europe rated one of the lowest levels of junk to sell bonds in nearly a year, a sign of investors' insatiable appetite for risk. The KKR Inc. -backed maker of Flora and Country Crock spreads priced €400 million ($471 million) of senior unsecured notes on Monday, a deal designed partly to refinance existing debt. The deal's yield of 8.625% is about four percentage points lower than an index of similar-rated bonds, and the sale, from books opening to pricing, was completed in the same day. That's fast for the high-yield market.

She also comments on the oil market in the current geopolitical climate, as tensions between Iran and Israel continue. "We'd be looking at companies which have those much more resilient supply chains that kind of deal with the kind of higher oil prices."
