Driver dies after rollover crash on I-294 ramp

A driver died after a serious rollover crash on eastbound I-294 early Wednesday morning. According to Illinois State Police, a commercial vehicle lost control and rolled over on the southbound ramp to I-290 just after 4 a.m. State police said the driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's identity has not been released. Police said the ramp will remain closed for several hours as crews work to clear the scene. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Couple arrested for trying to cover up crash involving two children, police say

South Simcoe police arrested a mother and a father for reportedly trying to cover up a rollover collision involving their two children in Innisfil. According to the service, a witness contacted police on Friday about a two-vehicle crash in the area of 20 Sideroad and Gilford Road. Police say the witness reported one vehicle had rolled into the ditch with a female and two children inside. When officers arrived, police say a man was at the scene claiming to be the driver of the damaged vehicle, but the authorities say further investigation revealed he had shown up after-the-fact in a separate vehicle, which his wife left in with their children, ages 10 and one. 'Neither the male nor the female attempted to seek medical attention for the young children," South Simcoe police noted. Subsequently, the parents, from Lefroy, were arrested and charged. The woman faces failing or refusing to comply with demand, failing to provide the necessities of life to a child, and dangerous operation. The man was charged with public mischief - intent to cause other person to be suspect. They are scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges next month. Police confirm the two children were located safe and taken for medical assessment. They were discharged shortly afterwards.

Woman transported to hospital after single-vehicle rollover in Kanata

A car flipped on its side after a serious crash on March Road in Ottawa on July 19, 2025. (Will Aiello/CTV News Ottawa) Ottawa firefighters removed a woman trapped inside a vehicle after a single-vehicle rollover in Kanata Saturday afternoon. The Ottawa Fire Services say they received a call from police at 5:24 p.m. reporting a collision at the intersection of March Road and Halton Terrace, just north of Terry Fox Drive. On arrival, crews found the vehicle on its side with one person trapped. Firefighters began an extrication process using specialized tools and were able to remove the person from the vehicle in about five minutes, Ottawa fire said in a news release. Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Neil Martin tells CTV News Ottawa that an adult woman was transported to hospital in stable condition for reasons described as 'precautionary.' Another man at the scene did not wish to be assessed by paramedics. Absorbent was spread on leaking fluids and the car batteries were disconnected prior to clearing the scene.

One killed, two taken to hospital after vehicle rollover on Sask. grid road

A 44-year-old man from North Battlefords was killed and two others were sent to hospital after a single-vehicle rollover on a rural grid road Thursday. RCMP say the incident was reported at around 6:30 a.m. in the RM of Rosemount. Battlefords RCMP, along with fire, paramedics, and STARS, rushed to the scene and found three occupants of the vehicle — two men and a woman — injured. One of the men was pronounced dead while on route to hospital. His family has been notified. The two other occupants were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the fourth occupant of the vehicle, a woman, did not report injuries. RCMP say they continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

One person killed, three others injured in violent crash on Beechwood Boulevard

One person was killed and three others were injured in a violent rollover crash along Beechwood Boulevard. The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Thursday morning in the city's Point Breeze neighborhood, not far from Forbes Avenue and Mellon Park. Pittsburgh Public Safety says it was a single-vehicle rollover crash and there were four boys inside the car. One of the boys was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other three were injured. One was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the other two were taken to the hospital in stable condition. It's unclear what led up to the crash.
