Large 'unstable' trees along busy Douglas road to be felled
Two large trees next to a major road running through Douglas are to be felled, the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) has news comes after a tree recently fell in an area around Peel Douglas-bound carriageway from the Quarterbridge junction will be closed from 18:30 BST while the work is carried department said the trees were "unstable" and posed "a risk of falling onto the carriageway during windy conditions".
The DOI said the road would be one-way from the Quarterbridge to Douglas Fire Station, and would be reopened no later than midnight. Traffic diversions will be in place for anyone heading to lower Douglas, via Groves Road and over Pulrose DOI said it appreciated people's "patience and understanding" during the "essential safety work" in the Isle of Man's capital.
